Question

Connecting R455C cell phone to PC

Just got the Samsung R455C cell phone and connected it to my PC. Window knows what it is, but could not find a driver. Thus I cannot make the connection. The cable works fine. I connect my LG800 with no issues. Anyone one know where I can find the driver to download? FYI...this is a TracFone purchase.

Please try to do a soft reset to check if it would work.
Soft Reset: Turn of the phone. Remove and put back the battery for at least 10-15 seconds and check if it would work.

Question

When I make a call I cannot hear the person and only hear the first ring?

This is my first use of this phone. When I dial a number I hear the first ring and no more althought the other phone rings and is answered. I remain connected . Is this a sound setting? Help!

Question

phone shutting down?

My phone is shutting down when I open and close the keyboard. Any fixes for this or is the phone defective?

Also I'm unable to submit a repair request because it says by serial number is invalid. It says it's valid when I open the screen but says it is invalid when I try to submit the request.

How to sync contacts

Is there any way to sync contact info on this r455 phone with a Windows PC?

Seems incredible that a phone with a 1000 contact capability then has zero ability to sync with a PC to maintain & backup the considerable data involved.

Question

Where can I download New PC Studio, and will it work with a SCH-R455C

The New PC Studio software is a "downloadable content" according to the features page for this phone. But I sure can't find any place from which to download it.

This software appears to address some of the gapping issues making this phone less than useful for syncing contacts or transfering files. But Samsung makes it extraordinarily hard to find.

Question

how to transfer text from phone to pc/retrieve sent text that did not store or deleted text

How do I get the phone to use the 4GB chip to store text messages?
Due to the storage limit for text messages on the phone, I recently put a 4 GB chip in the phone. I still am maxed out with my text messages. The text messages are being stored on the phone's internal memory. I can only use the chip for photos, etc. I frequently need to keep the text messages I receive. Its a pain to forward the text to my email, also I lose the sender's data unless I type it in. Please help, thanks.
