Thank you for your inquiry. What type of sd card are you using? Are you using microSDHC memory card type? If not, please use a microSDHC memory card type becuase that is the compatible card type for your Samsung SCH-R451C.

How to unlock phone?

I set a specific code for this phone. I stopped using it for a while, and now that I want to use it again, it says I need the code to get back in, and I forgot it. Is there any way you can reset the phone? Even if it means losing everything on it?

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can do to connect your phone
with your computer.

1. Reboot your computer by powering it off and unplugg the power cable and wait for atleast 30 minutes before powering on the computer again.

2. Use a different USB port.

3. Update the driver on your computer.

Here's how:

- Click on START.
- Click on RUN and type in "devmgmt.msc" and hit OK.
- The Device Manager box will appear. Highlight the red marked drivers from the Universal Serial Bus Controllers and right click then click on "Properties".
- Go to the "Driver" tab and press "UPDATE DRIVER".

I recently moved from a Net-10 phone (Samsung - SGH-T401G) to Staight Talk (Samsung SCH-451C) I got from a friend.

Both the phones are Bluetooth capable. How do I do the following:
1. Delete the old contact list from the SCH-451C completely.
2. Transfer my contact list from the SGH-T401G to the SCH-451C

Also, How does one connect these phones to a PC.

Thank you for your correspondence. Yes both phone is capable of Bluetooth Devices.

Deleting a Contact on SCH-R451:
-------------------------------
Menu> Contacts> Find
Find the Contacts entry you want to delete
Then press Options and then Erase.

There is no option on the phone to connect to the computer. However, you can insert a memory card in the phone so you can copy or move the files to the memory card and then after copying or moving the files to the memory card, you can now insert the memory card to the computer and access it. Memory card adapter may require to plug the memory card to the computer. You can follow the steps below to transfer files to the memory card

---------
Caution: The plug-in microSD memory card and its contents can be easily damaged by scratches or bending. Use caution, do not force the card when inserting or removing and keep all memory cards out of reach of children.

Important: Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

To copy or move a picture to a memory card follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for M enu
Select My Folder (7)
Select Images (2)
Select either Photos (2) or Downloaded Images (3)
Highlight the desired picture, using the navigation keys, then press the OK button to View it
Press the left soft key for Options
Select either Move to Memory Card (6) or Copy to Memory Card (7)
Navigate to the desired location on the memory card then press the OK button to Open
Press the left soft key for Options
Select either Move here (1) or Copy here (1)
Note: To transfer videos simply select videos rather than images in step 3

=Via USB Mass Storage

The TracFone SCH-R451C handset has the capability to transfer files between a PC, via microSD™ memory card, using a compatible USB data cable. However, before any file transfer the handset must first format the memory card in order to create the accessible download folders (My_Music, My_Images, My Ringtones, My_Sounds). For formattting instructions, click here.

WARNING: DO NOT DISCONNECT USB DATA CABLE DURING THE FILE TRANSFER

Important: Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This handset does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card

To transfer picture files directly between a PC and the handset's microSD memory card, via an USB cable, follow the steps below:

Remove the battery cover to expose the memory card slot
Insert a microSD memory card into the memory card slot, located on the same side as the volume keys, until it locks in place
Caution: DO NOT force the card into the memory card slot, as this could damage the card and/or the handset.
Replace the battery cover
Connect one end of the USB cable to a USB port on the PC
Pull out and up the charger/accessory connector cover
Connect the other end of the cable to the handsets charger/accessory connector
When successfully connected the handset will show "Connected To PC" on the display
When the new Removable Disk box appears, double click on "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" or open Windows Explorer manually
Navigate to the location of the picture file(s)
Copy the picture files to the Windows clipboard from the picture file(s) location
Paste the picture files into the My_Images folder located on the microSD Memory Card or to a location on the PC
Remove the USB data cable from the handset and PC then replace the charger/accessory connector cover
Tip: You can also drag n drop the file(s) into the folders

Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader
Connect the memory card reader to the PC’s USB port
Copy desired picture files from the microSD memory card to the PC hard drive destination or vice versa

Question

How do I take apart the phone?

I got my r451c phone wet and I've read that it is best to disassemble the phone before you try any of the drying methods (rice, silica packets, etc.). I'm not quite sure how to get the face-cover off (or anything else...). I have removed the back cover and the battery, but I'm sure there's a way to disassemble it even further. Thank you.

Due to Samsung's policy with repairs, any damage encountered to the phone through water or other liquids can and in most cases will cause corrosion to the inner workings of the handset. In these circumstances, it is no longer feasible to attempt to repair the phone; consequently, the phones received in this condition into our North Texas repair facilities are shipped back to the customer un-repaired. If you have insurance through your service provider please contact them for a possible replacement phone.

I have the SCH-R451C and wondered why I can't get any apps for it for navigation/GPS.

It seems for the price I'd be able to find a few apps for it. I love the phone for talking with my bluetooth, and texting is easy. I just want to get a few apps so I can possibly play a game or get directions.

Thank you for your inquiry. Altough the phone has a capability to transfer files using Bluetooth, there are no configurable option to sync your contacts into your car kit. Since the phone don't have a phonebook access profile.

To exit Silent / Vibrate Mode, hold down the pound key (#) for about 2 seconds while in Silent / Vibrate Mode. You will see a confirmation message for Silent / Vibrate Mode, each time you enter or exit Silent / Vibrate Mode and the vibration icon will appear at the top right of the display.
