Hi Jduncan78,

Thank you for your correspondence.

The SCH-R451C handset has the capability to transfer MP3 files between a computer, via microSD™ memory card. However, before any file transfer the handset must first format the memory card in order to create the accessible download folders (My_Music, My_Images, My Ringtones, My_Sounds).

Note: To transfer picture files, via a memory card, to/from a computer requires having a microSD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader.

Important: Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card

To transfer MP3 files from a computer, via memory card, follow the steps below:

1. Insert a handset formatted microSD memory card into the memory card adaptor.
2. Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader.
3. Insert the memory card reader into a USB port located on the computer.
4. Copy the MP3 files to the Windows clipboard from the MP3 destination on the computer.
5. Paste the MP3 files into the My_Music or My_Ringtones folder located on the microSD memory card.
6. Remove the microSD memory card from the memory card adaptor & reader.
7. Pull out and up the battery cover to expose the memory card slot.
8. Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card slot, located on the same side as the volume keys, until it locks in place
Caution: Do not force the card into the memory card slot, as this could damage the card and/or the handset.
9. Replace the battery cover.
10. From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu.
11. Select Multimedia (6).
12. Select Music Player (3).
13. From the Library screen, select All (1).
13. Highlight the desired MP3 file, using the navigation keys.
14. Press the left soft key to Play the MP3 file

You may also check the link below for other options in transferring music files between the phone and computer.

http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa/jsp/faqs/faqs_view.jsp?SITE_ID=22&PG_ID=2&PROD_SUB_ID=557&PROD_ID=1516&AT_ID=213079

Note: The Music Player does not necessarily support all features of a particular file format nor all the variations of those formats. The Music Player includes support for Digital rights Management (DRM) which allows you to play some purchased or subscription content. Copyright protections may prevent some images, videos, music (including ringtones) and other content from being copied, modified, transferred or forwarded.

To playback an MP3 file, located on the memory card, follow the steps below:

1. From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu.
2. Select Multimedia (6).
3. Select Music Player (3).
4. Press the left soft key for Library.
5. From the Library screen, select All (1).
6. Highlight the desired MP3 file, using the navigation keys.
7. Press the left soft key to Play the MP3 file.

Hi play4bear!

Thank you for taking the time to inform us of the issue concerning your Samsung product.

Regarding about this issue, what we can offer for the Samsung Messager™ Full Qwerty Cell Phone (SCH-R451) would be the default password which could be the last four digit of your mobile phone number.

We do not have any option to retrieve the previous password that you have set on this phone.

If the default codes will not work, then you may call the Straight Talk support, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a timelier manner that we could through this forum. You can reach Straight Talk at their toll free number 1-877-430-2355.

Again, we thank you for comments and appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

We appreciate your continued interest in Samsung products.

To exit Silent / Vibrate Mode, perform the same action while in Silent / Vibrate Only mode. You will see a confirmation message for Silent / Vibrate Only Mode, each time you enter or exit Silent / Vibrate mode.

Another option: To disable press the up volume key then select a volume setting while in “Vibrate" or “Ringer Off” mode.

It goes to power save mode when you're in an area with no service. If you're in an area with a weak signal, it wears the battery out looking for a signal. If there is no signal to find, the phone goes into power save mode. When you have service again, it automatically goes out of power save mode.

Question

How to Pair phone to vehicle?

I tried pairing my R451c to my Sorento and it did not work properly. After entering the passcode and putting it into discovery mode the bluetooth features in my vehicle became locked because the phone or bluetooth was stuck on "incoming call." I could not use any of my commands or buttons in the vehicle because it was showing a constant reading of "incoming call." I could dial out using the phone and then it would come through speakers but that is the only way i could stop the incoming call error. My motorola phone never did this and handled bluetooth fine in my car. I have only had this phone three weeks! Therefore this leads me to believe it is a pairing or phone issue and not the vehicle. I have followed instructions, installed, deleted and reinstalled several times to try to see if the problem would correct but still get the same results. Please help. I would really love to use this as a bluetooth feature in my vehicle.

We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.

If the phone has experienced damage or is out of warranty by date (it was purchased more than one year ago) the standard charge will likely apply for the repairs to your phone. Charges start at $65.00 and can increase, depending upon the nature and severity of the issue. We are only able to arrange payment for these repairs through credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

For troubleshooting and questions related to possible repairs we invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).

Thank you for choosing Samsung.
Sincerely,
Technical Support

This will show if you access a website that's your phone is not compatible. If this message will show many times on your phone, meaning, the software of your phone for browsing the internet is not compatible for that site.
