Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry. You may transfer music files using any of the methods listed below.

Via Memory Card

To transfer MP3 files (via a memory card), from a computer, to TracFone SCH-R355C handset requires having a Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The memory card must first be formatted, by the handset, in order for the handset to create the playable download folders.

To format a memory card please follow the steps below: (Caution: Formatting memory card will delete infromation stored in the card.)

1. Insert the memory card into the handset
2. From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
3. Select Settings (9)
5. Select Card Memory (3)
6. Select Format Card (4)
7. Press the left soft key for Yes to confirm Formatting the Memory Card
Caution: Do not repeatedly format a Memory Card as this shortens it's service life.

Caution: The plug-in microSD memory card and its contents can be easily damaged by scratches or bending. Use caution when inserting or removing the card and keep all memory cards out of reach of children.

Important: Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

To transfer MP3 files (via a memory card), from a computer, please follow the steps below:

1. Insert the formatted memory card into the memory card adaptor.
2. Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader.
3. Connect the memory card reader to the PC’s USB port.
4. You will see a new Removable Disk drive appear, this would be the memory card, or open Windows Explorer.
5. Copy the MP3 files then paste them in the memory card's My_Music or My_Ringtones folder.
6. Insert the memory card into the TracFone SCH-R355C handset's memory card slot.
Note: In order to set an MP3 file, located on a memory card, as a ringtone it MUST be located in the My_Ringtones folder.

Using USB Data Cable & Computer

A formatted microSD memory card, USB cable and a computer are required for this procedure.

CAUTION: Do NOT unplug the USB cable from either device during data transfer as this could cause damage to the handset and/or PC.

1. Confirm the handset's computer Connection is set to USB mode

To configure the handset's USB setting follow the steps below:

1. From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
2. Select Settings (9)
3. Select Phone Settings (5)
4. Select PC Connection (7)
5. Highlight either USB Mass Storage or No Connection
6. Press the OK button to save the USB Setting

2. Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card slot.
3. Connect the USB cable to both the handset & the target computer.
4. Once the USB connection has been established, the handset displays "Connected to computer" and the computer will show a pop-up removeable disk box.
5. Click on "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" then click OK or open it manually.
6. Right click on Start then left click on Explore to open a second Windows Explorer window.
7. Navigate to the location of the MP3 files then drag and drop them into either the My_Music or My_Ringtones folder.
8. Now it is safe to unplug the USB cable from both the PC & handset to begin playing the MP3 files

Please Note: The Media Player does not necessarily support all features of a particular file format nor all the variations of those formats. The Media Player includes support for Digital Rights Management (DRM) which allows you to play some purchased or subscription content. These copyright protections may prevent some images, music (including ringtones) and other content from being copied, modified, transferred or forwarded.

Hi there!

Thank you for your correspondence.

Have you already tried to soft reset your phone by removing the battery at the back of it and putting it back and check if it would allow you to send and receive text messages?

If this will not work, I highly suggest that you coordinate this matter with your provider and have them reconfigure your text messaging settings.
