Thank you for your inquiry.
To connect your phone to your computer, you don’t need driver for this. There is no downloadable driver for the SCH-r355 handset. If you are trying to connect your phone to your computer to transfer music files or picture, please see the steps below:
The SCH-R355C handset features different methods to transfer MP3 files to the handset, such as Bluetooth, micro SD memory card and download music or ringtones. And I have the methods on how it is done. Please see the procedures below:
To transfer MP3 files (via a memory card), from a PC, follow the steps below:
Insert the formatted memory card into the memory card adaptor
Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader
Connect the memory card reader to the PC’s USB port
You will see a new Removable Disk drive appear, this would be the memory card, or open Windows Explorer
Copy the MP3 files then paste them in the memory card's My Music or My Ringtones folder
Insert the memory card into the SCH-R355C handset's memory card slot
Note: In order to set an MP3 file, located on a memory card, as a ringtone it MUST be located in the My Ringtones folder.
Using USB Data Cable & PC
Confirm the handset's PC Connection is set to USB mode
Insert the micro SD memory card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB cable to both the handset & the target PC
Once the USB connection has been established, the handset displays "Connected to PC" and the PC will show a pop-up removable disk box
Click on "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" then click OK or open it manually
Right click on Start then left click on Explore to open a second Windows Explorer window
Navigate to the location of the MP3 files then drag and drop them into either the My Music or My Ringtones folder Now it is safe to unplug the USB cable from both the PC & handset to begin playing the MP3 files
Via Bluetooth
On the Samsung handset
Turn Bluetooth On
Set the phone’s Bluetooth visibility to on
On the phone with MP3 files
While in standby mode, activate Bluetooth by turning it on
Search for new Bluetooth devices
Select the SCH-R355C phone
Exchange the PIN Codes on both devices to pair the phones (the default code is “0000”)
Browse for desired MP3 file(s)
Transfer data from phone to phone
On the Samsung handset
Accept exchanging data
For further details regarding this phone, we advise you to visit our website www.samsung.com to check for other specifications that you may enjoy with this phone.

Thank you for your inquiry.
Hi, to connect your phone to the computer to communicate and transfer files, it does not need any drivers or software. I can show some of the procedures that you can try for example you want to transfer pictures.
The SCH-R355C features several different methods to transfer pictures to and/or from a PC or vice versa.
Via USB Cable
To transfer pictures between the phone and a PC follow the steps below:
Insert a formatted memory card into the memory card slot
Verify the handset PC Connection setting is set to USB Mass Storage
Plug the USB data cable into both the phone and PC
When the New Removable Disk appears on the PC display choose to "open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" or manually open it
Either copy pictures from the phone's My_Images folder or from the PC destination to the clipboard
Paste the pictures into the PC destination or the phone's My_Images folder.
To a PC Via Memory Card
To transfer pictures (via a memory card) to a PC requires a micro SD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The micro SD memory card MUST first be formatted, by the handset, in order for the handset to create the destination folders.
Important: Please note that the minimum size limit for the micro SD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a micro SDHC 16GB capacity memory card.
Warning: Formatting a memory card will permanently delete all current content.
To transfer pictures (via a memory card), from the SCH-R355C handset, to a PC follow the steps below:
Insert a formatted micro SD card into the memory card slot
From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select My Folder (6)
Select My Images (5)
Highlight the desired image
Press the right soft key for Options
Select either Move (4) or Copy (5)
Press the left soft key for Yes to confirm moving or copying the image to the memory card
Remove the micro SD memory card from the memory card slot
Replace the memory card cover
Insert the micro SD memory card into the memory card adaptor
Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader
Insert the memory card reader into the USB slot on the PC
Navigate to the Photo destination, using Windows Explorer
Drag and drop or copy & paste the Photo(s) into the desired destination on the PC.
From a PC Via Memory Card
To transfer pictures (via a memory card) from a PC requires a micro SD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The micro SD memory card MUST first be formatted, by the handset, in order for the handset to create the destination folders.
Important: Please note that the minimum size limit for the micro SD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a micro SDHC 16GB capacity memory card.
Insert a formatted memory card into the memory card adaptor
Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader
Connect the memory card reader to the PC’s USB port
You will see a new Removable Disk drive appear, this would be the memory card
Copy the files then paste them in the My_Images memory card folder
Insert the memory card into the SCH-R355C memory card slot.
Via Bluetooth
Note: Both devices must support the FTP (File Transfer Profile) in order to use ths method

On the Samsung handset
Turn Bluetooth On
Set the phone’s Bluetooth visibility to On
On the phone with Pictures
While in standby mode, activate Bluetooth by turning it On
Search for new Bluetooth devices
Highlight the SCH-R355C phone name, using the navigation keys

You've just pinpointed the biggest problem with this phone. Unbelievably for a business phone with QWERTY keyboard, there are NO fields for address information OR the ability to select what kind of number you are saving in contacts. For example, if you have more that one residence number to add, you are out of luck. You can ONLY add 1!

I encourage you to post a question on this forum to Samsung asking "When will Samsung do a firmware upgrade so that contacts can include address information and the ability to add multiple numbers for the same location?"

I know I am!

Peace,

There is no available driver software from the Samsung website that you can download intended for your phone.

The SCH-R355C handset has the capability to transfer files directly between a PC and a memory card (residing within the handset) with a compatible USB data cable.

To configure the handset's USB setting follow the steps below:
Confirm the handset's PC Connection is set to USB mode
From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Settings (9)
Select Phone Settings (5)
Select PC Connection (7)
Highlight either USB Mass Storage or No Connection
Press the OK button to save the USB Setting
Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB cable to both the handset & the target PC
Once the USB connection has been established, the handset displays "Connected to PC" and the PC will show a pop-up removeable disk box
Click on "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" then click OK or open it manually
Right click on Start then left click on Explore to open a second Windows Explorer window
Navigate to the location of the files then drag and drop them into the destination folder

Question

Why can i only get a message and receive a message that's 160 characters

So with normal cell phones if you type above your character limit in a text message, it will automatically put the text in another one, thus sending multiple mails. Why can't this phone do the same?

And the same with receiving. If it's from a phone text, i can get the multiple messages but ALWAYS after the last message i get a message about something with "preceeding msg blah blah blah" even though i got the mails fine. And if someone sends me a mail via vtext i only get the first 160 characters of their mail (which includes an re: of half the message i sent before) i can't get the other mails, they have to send me multiple mails. Is there a way to fix this? I love this phone but as most of my friends are in other countries, this is a hassle to deal with and i may have to get a different phone :(

Thank you for your inquiry.
Hi, the 160 characters for messaging is the default setting on the device and there is no configurable option to change it. However your device can still receive messages that is more than 160 characters, it is like having a second page. And it is the same as sending messages.

Hi, Samsung doesn’t provide software for you to access contacts, calendar, etc. through USB cable or Bluetooth and the phone doesn’t support syncing. However, you can send your contacts and calendars to a compatible device via bluetooth since your phone has an Object Push Profile (OPP is used for sending "objects" such as images, virtual business cards, or appointment details. It is called push because the transfers are always initiated by the sender (handset), not the receiver (server). The object formats are vcard, vmsg, vcal and vnote.)

You can either remove the micro SD card and copy mp3 files into the music folder on the card from your computer or you can purchase a USB cell phone data cable (cheap. similar to the one at this link http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Replacement-Charging-SPH-M330-SCH-R100/dp/B001XXUOQI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1291436589&sr=8-1) to connect directly from the phone to the USB port on your computer and copy the songs over as if the phone were any other drive accessible from your computer.
