If you intend to transfer files between your SCH-R355 handset and your computer using a USB cable, then you would need to set your phone to mass storage and there should be a formatted memory card inserted on the device for it to be recognized by the PC. You won’t need software to install.

If you wish to continue, just follow the steps below:

1. Insert a formatted memory card into the memory card slot
 From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
 Select Settings (9)
 Select Memory Info (6)
 Select Card Memory (3)
 Select Format Card (4)
 Press the left soft key for Yes to confirm Formatting the Memory Card

Caution! Do not repeatedly format a Memory Card as this shortens its service life

2. Verify the handset PC Connection setting is set to USB Mass Storage

 From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
 Select Settings (9)
 Select Phone Settings (5)
 Select PC Connection (7)
 Highlight either USB Mass Storage or No Connection
 Press the OK button to save the USB Setting

3. Plug the USB data cable into both the phone and PC
4. When the New Removable Disk appears on the PC display choose to "open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" or manually open it
5. Either copy pictures from the phone's My_Images folder or from the PC destination to the clipboard
6. Paste the pictures into the PC destination or the phone's My_Images folder

Hi ganitjam!

Thank you for your inquiry. There is no option on the phone to send the image on a Bluetooth printer, because the phone doesn't have a Bluetooth Basic Printing Profile (BPP). However, you can print the pictures on the phone by transferring the files to the computer and then from the computer you may now print it to the printer. Regarding about your concern, upon checking the specifications and settings on the r355c Full Qwerty Cell Phone (SCH-R355), the device does not have this feature.

However, you can change the default text entry on the SCH-R355 handset. Please follow the step below on how:
1. While in standby mode, press the left soft key for Menu.
2. Select Messages.
3. Select Msg Settings.
4. Select General.
5. Select Entry Mode.
6. Highlight the desired Text Entry Mode from the following:
• Abc
• ABC
• 123/Sym
7. Press the OK button to save the Text Entry Mode setting.

I doesn't seem possible to add a ringtone to a group. Is that true?

It is possible with other phone to have separate ringtones for family, friends, and so forth groups so that when you assign a contact to a group that group's ringtone is played. That way I don't have to apply a ringtone to each contact.

Can't connect to PC with USB connection

I have set the handset to "PC Connection" "USB Mass Storage." I have formatted the inserted memory card. I connect to the computer via Samsung data cable (I've tried 2 cables). The computer doesn't recognize a new storage device. Popup screen wants to find "CDMA Technologies Driver."

While in standby mode, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Tools (8)
Select Alarm Clock (4)
Highlight an Alarm, using the navigation keys
Choose the Alarm Ringer Type, using the navigation keys, from the following:
Tone
Highlight desired Ringtone, using the navigation keys
Press the OK button to set the Alarm Tone
Vibrate, for vibration only
Light-only
Press the OK button again to Save the Alarm
Highlight an Alarm, using the navigation keys

Have you already tried to soft reset your phone by removing the battery at the back of it and putting it back and check if it would allow you to send and receive text messages?

If this will not work, I highly suggest that you coordinate this matter with your provider and have them reconfigure your text messaging settings.

how long does it take to charge the qwerty keyboard phone after buying it?

also does the the screen stay black while charging it? Also why is it sinse i bought this phone I had it on the charge for an hour and the only way it will let me turn it on is when the charger is plugged in is it because it is not fully charged yet? i just bought the phone this evening on feb 6 2011 .

Do MP3's always skip between tracks? & Album art

Just got this phone not long ago and got a microSD card and everything. Noticed it always skips between tracks though and the MP3's don't do that on my computer. Is it just the phone or is there a setting I need to change to fix it? Also how do I add album art when playing albums? Thanks

Thank you for inquiry. Regarding your concern, there are no configurable options to change or alter the banner on your homescreen. However, you can always change the wallpaper or screen saver on your homescreen.

Please follow the steps on how to change the wallpaper of your Samsung Gravity T.

3. Tap to select one of three panels.

Regarding your concern, after you set up an alarm on the r355c Full Qwerty Cell Phone (SCH-R355), try to have a soft reset. Soft reset is removing the battery for about a minute on your phone and putting it back just for you to refresh the settings on the handset.
