Hi arfoltz1982!

Thank you for your inquiry.

Apparently, Samsung does not offer a Data Kit software package, for the purpose of transferring data between the Samsung Freeform™ Full Qwerty Cell Phone (SCH-R350) and a personal computer.

However, if your service provider is MetroPCS; you may contact them and ask for the Data Kit software package that came in a CD.

Once you install the Samsung New PC Studio on your computer, for you to connect the phone to the computer, and import contacts from your outlook, it would require you to have a compatible USB data cable, once you already have the requirements, and then do the following:

USB settings:
1. From the standby screen, press Menu.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Phone Settings.
4. Select PC Connection.
5. Highlight No.
6. Press the OK button to save the USB Setting.
Note: No connection is the option to select to use with Samsung's New PC Studio software

Tip: Make sure that the Bluetooth is deactivated on the phone.

Connecting to the computer:
1. Confirm the handset's PC Connection is set to USB mode.
2. Connect the USB data cable between the phone and a computer port, and if prompted, select PC Studio.
3. Open Samsung New PC Studio on your computer and wait until the model of the phone appear on the PC studio window.
4. Navigate the Samsung New PC Studio to find the information you want to transfer between the computer and the phone.

Note: Please make sure that Bluetooth is disabled and the phone is in idle mode.

If the notification does not show up on the phone or on the computer, try to turn off you phone or connect the USB cable to another USB port on your computer.

Should you desire additional assistance resolving this, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

Again, we thank you for comments and appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

We appreciate your continued interest in Samsung products.

Greetings!
Regarding your inquiry that you cannot download a ringtone and move emails, it shows unsupported content. The reason for this is that maybe the file type of the ringtone that you are trying to download is not supported by your phone. Same for the emails, maybe it has a picture or image included and the picture format is not supported by the phone. The file content can also be too large for the phone to open it. Here let me show you what are the file format that your phone supports for both ringtones and images.

You can go to your service provider so they can check on the phone and they can try reflashing the phone.

You can also call our Samsung Customer Support, so we can do minimal troubleshooting to your phone. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.

For troubleshooting and questions related to possible repairs we invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).

Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry! We appreciate your patience.

To Download Music Using USB Data Cable & PC :

A formatted microSD memory card, USB cable and a PC are required for this procedure. Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

Warning: Formatting a memory card will permanently delete all current content. Do not repeatedly format a Memory Card as this shortens it's service life.
Note: To play MP3 files they MUST be stored in the My_Music folder in the memory card. The phone MUST format the memory card to create the neccessary destination folders.

To format a memory card :

Insert the memory card into the handset
From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Settings (9)
Select Memory Info (6)
Select Card Memory (3)
Select Format Card (7)
Press the left soft key for Yes to confirm Formatting the Memory Card

Confirm the handset's PC Connection is set to USB mode
From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Settings (9)
Select Phone Settings (5)
Select PC Connection (8)
Highlight either Mass Storage or No Connection
Press the OK button to save the USB Setting

Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB cable to both the handset & the target PC
Once the USB connection has been established, the handset displays "Connected to PC" and the PC will show a pop-up removeable disk box
Click on "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" then click OK or open it manually
Right click on Start then left click on Explore to open a second Windows Explorer window
Navigate to the location of the MP3 files then drag and drop them into either the My_Music or My_Ringtones folder
Now it is safe to unplug the USB cable from both the PC & handset to begin playing the MP3 files

If connection is unsuccessful, kindly try to check the following....

> Try using a different USB port (if using a desktop PC, please try to connect the USB data cable at the back port of the CPU)
> Restart the PC and soft reset the phone (turn off and remove the battery for about a minute and put it back in the phone and turn it on again)
> Make sure that the USB cable is samsung genuine accessory
> Try using a different USB cable
> Try to check the removable storage through the "My Computer"
> Disable or turn off the bluetooth connection of the phone

If you need additional support, call Samsung Customer Support at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357 between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, CST. From there, a representative can assist you further!

Hi tania1!

Thanks for your question! With regards to your concern, any damage encountered to the phone through water or other liquids can and in most cases will cause corrosion to the inner workings of the handset. In these circumstances, it is no longer covered by your warranty with Samsung. In addition, it is feasible to attempt to repair the phone; consequently, the phones received in this condition into our North Texas repair facilities are shipped back to the customer un-repaired. However, if you have insurance through your service providers please contact them for a possible replacement phone.

If you need additional assistance, please just write us again on this forum or you can also try calling Samsung Customer Support at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357 between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, CST. Hi there!

Most issues like this may be resolved with minimal troubleshooting. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the handset, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

At your earliest convenience, please call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.
