While your handset does support the Bluetooth profile for file transfer operation, this would best be addressed by your laptop manufacturer, as they can provide a list handsets approved for compatibility. In most cases, this information is available on the manufacturer’s website.

Regarding about your concern, Samsung does not offer a Data Kit software package, for the purpose of transferring data between the Samsung Stride™ Cell Phone (SCH-R330) and a personal computer.

However, you can send images saved on your phone to an e-mail account. We recommend contacting your network provider to have the configuration settings for the SCH-R330 handset for you to send picture message.

How do I backup my contacts?

I have a bluetooth connection which lets me upload/download ring tones and pictures, but it won't let me access my contacts. Does samsung provide software to backup the contacts? Can I back them up using MS Outlook Express? Is there 3rd party software that'll back them up?

I went to the Market Place and downloaded "My Phone explorer" its free. It will let you download all the data on your device and will let you edit it as well as update what ever you want to your device. Also remember to turn on your USB debugging feature. If this is not turned on you will not see your phone when you connect it up to a PC. the only thing that will show up is the memory card.... Be Blessed.

Here's the steps on how you can pair/connect your phone to a bluetooth device.

Place the Bluetooth device in discoverable mode

While in standby mode, press the OK button for Menu
Select Bluetooth
Select Registered List (1)
With Add New Device highlighted, press the OK button
Press the left soft key for Yes to activate Bluetooth first
Press the OK button at the discoverable mode prompt to begin the search
Highlight the desired Bluetooth Device, using the navigation keys
Press the OK button to Pair the devices
Enter the default Passkey of device (0000), using the keypad
Press the OK button to Pair devices, you will get a brief message stating pairing
Press the left soft key for Yes to Connect devices, you will get a brief message stating connecting
You will return to the “Bluetooth” menu screen

Regarding your concern, there is no need to install any software on the computer for you to connect the handset with your PC. All you need to have is a memory card inside the handset and a data cable then set the phone to mass storage.

To connect the phone to the computer, please follow the steps below:
Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
If Select USB Mode appears on the display press the clear key to return to the standby screen OR if the MTP Connect to the PC... appears on the display, press OK then with Yes highlighted press OK to disconnect from the PC
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Select USB Mass Storage
From the PC, double click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop
Double click on the newly created drive letter (which may appear as an icon or text, depending on your View settings)
Double click on the folder to view the contents
Copy and paste or drag n drop the files to/from the destination on the PC
From the handset, press OK for Disconnect
With Yes highlighted, press OK then remove the USB data cable from both the handset and PC

Pertaining to your query, the phone doesn’t have the capability to send out multiple slide texts, and also when you are sending out an mms message it is being filtered by the Network Provider and the allowable size will be 50 kb for picture messages.

There are two (2) kinds of USB cords; one is for charging and transferring files and the other kind is for charging only. As I have checked the SCH-R330 (Stride) Box Contents, it came with Standard Battery, Travel Charger (Micro USB) and Printed Materials : User Guide. The SAMSUNG Travel Charger (Micro USB) can be plugged into any standard wall outlet and can be connected to a computer to charge it only and not for the use of transferring files.
