Is it possible to store apps from the android market to the micro SD Card vs. Phone storage so as to minimize phone memory usage? If so, please advise how to do this step when downloading an app from the marketplace.

Hi there,

Thank you for your inquiry.

To stop an application from running in the background, simply long press the Home soft key to pull up the Task Manager application. There you can stop applications from running, in order to prevent battery drain.

To transfer music files from a PC to the phone, follow the steps below to use Mass Storage Mode.

*For Windows Vista/XP/7 OPERATING SYSTEM

> Make sure that USB debugging is unchecked:
> Select Menu
> Applications
> Select Settings
> Development
> Uncheck all three options (USB debugging, Allow mock location, Stay Awake)

* For MAC Computer

> Make sure that USB debugging is checked:
> Select Menu
> Applications
> Select Settings
> Development
> Check USB debugging and check other options (Allow mock location and Stay Awake)

*Then you may follow the steps below when connecting phone to PC or Laptop:

>Connect the USB data cable to the device and a laptop or PC
> After the USB icon appears in the Notification Drawer, pull it down
> Select USB Connected
> Select Mount

> On the PC, navigate to the Removable Disk assigned to the device. This can be done through the automatic pop up screen or ‘My Computer.
> Drag and drop (copy and paste) files from other locations of your PC to this folder

If this steps won’t work, Try to check this stuff….

> Try using a different USB port
> Restart the PC and soft reset the phone
> Make sure that the USB cable is Samsung genuine accessory
> Try using a different USB cable
> Try to check the removable storage through the "My Computer"

To transfer files from Samsung Epic 4G phone follow the steps below:

1. Press the Home Key.
2. Plug the cable into the phone.
3. Plug the other end of the cable in a USB port.
Tip: Avoid the use of multiport hubs if possible.
4. Tap on Mass Storage
5. Sweep down on the Notification bar and Tap USB connected-Select to copy files to/from the computer
6. Tap Mount
7. The PC may throw an option window. Click on Open folder to view files.
8. Navigate to the desired files to be transferred and either drag and drop them over or copy and paste them into the directories.

Question

Incoming calls will not ring

When receiving an incoming call the phone will not ring.

Phone is not in silent mode.

Am able to adjust the ringtone volume with external buttons on side of phone and by going through the phones settings. In each case the ringtone level is
set so it is audible.

Have tried to power off and power on the phone to no use.

Have powered off and removed battery for 5 minutes before reinstalling and turning the phone back on to no use.

I would like to connect my phone to my computer so that I can down load music and other stuff to my phone. When I try to connect it tells me that I

When I try to connect it tells me that I need to install a samsung driver or some program to make it work. Please advise how to install the needed software onto my computer to make it work with my phone.
Also, I have been experiancing a little dificulty in answering the phone as the answer green button seems to freez up and not respond to my touching and slidding it to turn on. The touch screen seems to work fine for al other applications. It is a bit frustrating not to be able to answer the phone when this happens.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Regarding your concern, there is no need to install any software on the computer for you to connect the handset with your PC. All you need to have is a memory card inside the handset and a data cable then set the phone to mass storage.

To connect the phone to the computer, please follow the steps below:
Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
If Select USB Mode appears on the display press the clear key to return to the standby screen OR if the MTP Connect to the PC... appears on the display, press OK then with Yes highlighted press OK to disconnect from the PC
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Select USB Mass Storage
From the PC, double click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop
Double click on the newly created drive letter (which may appear as an icon or text, depending on your View settings)
Double click on the folder to view the contents
Copy and paste or drag n drop the files to/from the destination on the PC
From the handset, press OK for Disconnect
With Yes highlighted, press OK then remove the USB data cable from both the handset and PC
