what drivers do i need so that i can connect my phone to my sony laptop pc windows 7. i want to be able to manage my sd card while it is in my phone
when i connect the usb to my pc it does't reconize the phone. what can i do. please help. thx

I see that it uses Sprint now that I've already purchased it and no one told me that it didn't run off Verizon's or AT&T's towers. I did read somewhere that a conversion kit may be possible or a reconfiguration to run off of other towers may be possible if needed. I'm trying desperately to get the answer to this as my area doesn't have Sprint coverage and I'm very disappointed with this. One would think Straight Talk Customer Service or the store of which I purchased it would have told me this when I talked to them... but NO! So, since Verizon didn't want to lose money by having this Android Precedent run off of their towers, they made a deal with Sprint. Hence why this phone is run off of their towers. Total bummer but great for those of them who have Sprint as their main area.

Straight Talk is a service carrier provided by Trac Fone. Trac Fone uses Verizon towers to relay their signal.

The Samsung SCH-M828C is a touchscreen phone, so it has a touchscreen keyboard (no slideout). At first this may be difficult to use, but this phone includes the ability to "Swype" the keys, so you never lift your finger except to separate words. For example, if you want to type "hello", you would initially place your finger on the "h" and drag your finger to the "e" then the "l" and then the "o", then you lift your finger and "hello" will be written on the screen. It takes some getting used to, but I have learned it fairly well in just a few days of texting.

GPS, email, certain apps, and various other features drain battery, not to mention, pressing the top button to check time and notification icons activates the screen... 36 hours is pretty good assuming you are using the phone with other than stock (came with the phone) apps and set it up with things like email and facebook (which actively refreshes/updates using battery life). 14 days seems a bit mythical for common uses. However, there are battery saving apps you can obtain from the "market".
How do I save my pic from a message that I get from someone
I got some pic txt messages and I don't know how to save the pictures in my phone. Can you please help in this matter

Assuming you have an SD card, in the message, hold your finger on the picture, and select "copy attached to SD card". This action will save it to SD card.

Wow! What kind of of cop out was that first answer!!! In order to delete folders from your gallery that were synced to your phone through facebook or picasa, it's simple. All you have to do is go into settings ---> accounts&sync ---> then choose your desired option from either "General sync settings" OR "Manage accounts" (to individually turn off sync in ur various accounts.) Hope this will be helpful to someone.
I noticed that the phone only comes with 284MB of internal memory, which can be quickly utilized from various apps. I have tried to transfer as many apps as I can to my 8G SD card, but some apps you can not transfer. Any suggestions?

Theoretically speaking, if function overrules your desire to have a warrantee on your phone... Rooting your phone voids the warrantee, but it would allow you to load an app to make you superuser, and then load another app to remove and backup (to sd and render unusable in backup form) preloaded programs like youtube, facebook and latin support. Disable updates to apps like maps after the first update... many other things you can do to prevent clutter. Clear application cache is a must! There are other apps out there that will allow to be stored on the SD card other than the stock ones. For example, fbx for facebook. Widgets won't work from SD card. I've heard about partitioning the SD card so the phone uses it as internal memory as well. If nothing else, disable updates and clear cache.
why is it my phone wont allow me to scan barcodes?
i have downloaded all the free barcode scanner apps and none of them have worked for my phone. i have a QR scanner app and it works perfectly but only for QR codes.

I have the Bar Code 4.0 app on my phone. It took a little getting used to, but it will work. You have to have the bar code completely in the rectangle on your screen, it has to be in focus, and you have to hold your phone really steady. If you are not on a wi fi network, but using 3G at the time it takes a little longer for it to scan.
I managed to duplicate messenger icon on screen. How do I delete 1 of them

Purchased Galaxy Precedent last week through Straight Talk, and did not get a full manual with phone. I did receive two quick reference manuals.

Hi there!
Thank you for your inquiry. All you need to do is to set the phone to Mass Storage by using a compatible USB data cable and a memory card inserted on the device for it to be recognized by your computer. If you wish to continue, follow the steps below.
STEPS:
> Ensure that the Memory Card is properly inserted into the device
NOTE: FOR Windows Vista/XP/7 OPERATING SYSTEM
>Make sure that USB debugging is unchecked:
• Select Menu • Applications • Select Settings • Development • Uncheck all three options (USB debugging, Allow mock location, Stay Awake)
*Connect the USB data cable to the device and a laptop or PC
(on the phone itself):
*Select Mass Storage * After the USB icon appears in the Notification Drawer, pull it down * Select USB Connected * Select Mount
> On the PC, navigate to the Removable Disk assigned to the device. This can be done through the automatic pop up screen or ‘My Computer.
If these steps won’t work, try to check this stuff….
o Try using a different USB port o Restart the PC and soft reset the phone o Make sure that the USB cable is Samsung genuine accessory o Try to check the removable storage through the "My Computer"

How can you disable the screen lock function when you are on a call? This function is irritating, especially if you are having to use the keypad to enter information on automated VRU systems.

Sometimes, when friends or family calls me on the phone, it takes 6-7 rings before i get notification of the ring.
