I'd take this a step further - and believe that TouchWiz for the 4G (VZW) Tab 10.1 may be halted due to the fact that ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) is probably in the works for the Tabs. It really wouldn't make sense to spend dev time and resources on a Honeycomb overlay since ICS is due out soon.

That being said - I would love to know when ICS is expected on the Tabs.

I was just on with tech support - I had the exact same question! I was advised the touchwiz upgrade was halted and Samsung needs to do some enhancements. They still have no idea when this will be released. If my company did QA like this, we would be out of business! Do I really have to buy an iPad 2 to run CISCO VPN?

Is finally coming. There is a verizon announcement on their website dated December 29 , 2011.
I don't know if they are holding it back due to the bugs.

Either way Verizon is limiting the Voice ip capability of the tablet. Forget about making calls with Google Voice or Viber.

I went to the store yesterday and they told me they are pushing the update as we speak, is now a matter of luck to see when we will able to get it.

You can't install MS Office products, however there are two alternatives that I use that work well on simple/moderately complex documents. Go to the Android Market and search for QuickOffice and/or Documents To Go. Make sure you look for the Tablet versions.

If you own a Verizon 4G Tab 10.1 then TouchWiz is not yet available. Only WiFi only models support TouchWiz currently.

16GB functional space ends up being approx 13-14GB Usable. Then minus any space used by your apps, music, pix, videos, etc.

Change the tablet's Bluetooth name

Your tablet has a generic Bluetooth name by default, which is visible to other devices when you connect them. You can change the name so that it is more recognizable.

From a Home screen, touch Apps
Touch Settings
Touch Wireless and network
Touch Bluetooth to turn on Bluetooth (if off)
Touch Bluetooth settings
Touch Device name
Enter a name, and touch OK when finished

hi ! can i checked if i owned a verizon 4g tablet, if i were to pass it to one of my relative in singapore, if they want to use the 4g, can they get their local provider to be use in that country.

Vz will charge you to use it overseas but its best to do it that way then use a 3rd party on your own as it costs an arm and a leg. We had one lady come back with a 3000 bill cause she forgot to let us know so we could let Vz know. In the long run unless you use a hotspot wifi go through Vz.

They are called "Newton Rings", and Samsung is aware of the issue. I too have just sent back my VZW Tab 10.1 to have this repaired.

According to the research I have done online - it is happening to a good collective of Tab owners. Some report subsequent failures and some report the problem fixed after repairs.

It may have been a bad batch - but I tend to believe it was a bad screen design that Samsung appears to be replacing with a better piece of glass.

FYI the "Newton Rings" are reportedly caused by distorting the Tab itself - some folks claim that if the Tab is placed in the Samsung "Book Cover" the cover itself causes the device to "flex/distort" thereby causing the rings.

Why is there no texting on the Samsung Tab 10.1, 4G SCH-I905?

Just wondering why you would leave off the texting on the 4G SCH-I905 Tablet. I think I'm going to return it. I got it about a week ago, being told by Verizon that it had texting and it doesn't. The 7" Samsung tab has the same texting button as the Android phones (it says Messaging with a green square smiley face as the icon). I bought this devise to help me run my business and I can't even text anyone. The stupid Google Talk and the other I.M. services available all have their issues. Google Talk only works if I can get the person I'm texting to download it and many of them can't even get it on their devise. The same thing is true with most of the texting apps available. TextPlus is probably the best one, but I can't receive photos, or can't send them (can't remember which it is). I sure hope you're going to do a system upgrade to add texting, or you'll lose alot of customers to other devises that do text. I just bought a tablet for someone else in my company yesterday, and I didn't buy a Samsung because of the lack of texting. I plan on buying other tabs, but won't do it now because of this obvious mistake that Samsung made on the 10.1 Tab.
