Cell radio cannot be turned on

Phone indicates battery is too low, even when fully charged. Cell radio cannot be turned on even when plugged into AC outlet with charging adapter.

This appears to be a fairly common problem with this phone, as I've found several postings on various internet tech forums that were found via a Google search. Phone was sent in for repair of cell radio.

Syncing errors

I have been working to sync my Samsung SCHi760 with the Mobile Device Center but am getting an error with the desktop. My phone does not have a HEX # so I am unable to search for an answer within your site. Please help me so I can transfer all data to my new Samsung SCHi760 that I received today.

Question

SCH-I760 makes a phone call by itself to the last dialed number if headphone jack is inserted.

While music playing with windows media player, if I insert headphone jack or speaker jack, SCH-I760 makes a phone call by itself to the last dialed number from the call history. I can't do anything to prevent it. Help!
I can not connect a headphone or speaker because of this self error.

Most issues may be resolved with minimal troubleshooting. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.

If the phone has experienced damage or is out of warranty by date (it was purchased more than one year ago) the standard charge will likely apply for the repairs to your phone. Charges start at $65.00 and can increase, depending upon the nature and severity of the issue. We are only able to arrange payment for these repairs through credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

I have a Samsung SCH i760 with Win. 6.1. ESN on back of phone is covered by a stick on antenna and can not be seen. I dial #43574357* and the ESN and MEID show n/a. Any suggestions on how to get the ESN any other way?

The option that you can do is to contact your current service provider for them to give you their records about your handset. They can also trace the ESN number fo your phone.

Problems with Mobile 6.1 snyc and windows 7 drievr for my phone

SCH i760. I need a driver which is recognized by Windows 7 in order to get the windows mobile 6.1 to consistently recognize and snyc my phone to outlook 2010. I have searched many places and can only find a driver set up for Windows Vista. Any direction you can provide would be appreciated.

Regarding about your concern, you can use the Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for 64 bit which you can download on www.microsoft.com for you to connect the SCH-I760 handset to your computer that has a Windows 7 OS. However, this software/driver is only compatible with MS Outlook 2003 and 2007.

Using Microsoft® ActiveSync®, the SCH-i760 handset synchronizes your Microsoft Outlook data (E-Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks) between your PC and the handset. The application is already installed on your SCH-i760 handset, but must be installed on your PC (using the CD included with your handset) before you can synchronize data.
Note: If your PC is running Windows Vista, your synchronization settings will be managed through the Windows Mobile Device Center. For instruction on downloading Windows Mobile Device Center visit the following site:

Install Active Sync on the PC
1.Place the CD in your PC's drive and wait for the Installation Wizard to appear on your monitor.
2.Select the Start Here tab.
3.Click the Install Microsoft® ActiveSync® 4.5 menu selection.
4.Click Install and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: Microsoft® ActiveSync® 4.5 can also be downloaded from the following site: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/activesync41.mspx

Connect the Devices and Run Microsoft® ActiveSync®

There are no configurable options to access internet or browse Verizon website without WI-FI or if the internet service is not activated on the handset by your Service Provider.

This is my 2nd sch-i760. My old one, when you text message a person you could view the entire conversation by scrolling.

This one, everytime I get a message from the same person it shows up as a seperate text message. I'm sure it's a setting I have to change but I can't find it anywhere?

The character limit per message in text messaging for SCH-I760 is160 and that could be the reason why the message shows up as a separate text message.

Question

Why is Samsung SCH-i760 suddenly started to rapidly loose battery charge on regular battery?

Verizon said battery was old (2 years) and dying. It went from lasting a week down to an hour after full charge. I bought a new extended battery and after a full charge, it also dies in a few hours. Is there a short in the phone, a software program gone awry? Bluetooth is not used. WiFi is off. Thanks

Battery life durations specified on our products are tested in our labs under multiple different conditions and the talk and standby times are a realistic average maximum dependent on customer usage variables.
Battery power consumption depends on a number of factors, such as network configuration, signal strength, operating temperature, features selected, frequency of calls, and voice, data, and other application usage patterns.
Some variables that may affect battery life are:
• Backlight settings set to always on or a long amount of time
• Ring tone settings set to higher volume settings
• Vibrate settings turned on
• Using Internet Services including Text Messaging
• Making and/or Receiving calls in, or simply standing by in, an analog service area
• If you tend to be in a "weak" coverage area where your signal strength meter shows only 1 to 2 bars
• Using non-SAMSUNG charging accessories can cause battery life and other issues, as well as void the manufacturer’s limited warranty.

If the battery is not holding a charge it may mean that it is not charging properly. Make certain that the charger cable is properly plugged in. It is also possible that the battery may be damaged. If you suspect that it may be, or should this issue continue to occur, please feel free to call us here at Samsung Technical Support at 1-888-987-4357.

Hi! Thanks for your question. I suggest performing a soft reset. To perform a soft reset, please power off the device and pull/replace the battery after 2-3 minutes before powering back on.

Question

Keyboard entering incorrect characters

I did not hooked up my phone to the charger last night. When I plugged it in this morning, it went into emergency call mode. My battery must have drained to nothing and maybe the system battery was affected.

I gotten the phone to a point where it turns on, but the keyboard seems to in dissarray. I need to enter my password to unlock the phone. But when I enter 1, it is entering a series of characters followed by a return. I am down to my final attempt. Some keys do not work at all, others enter additional characters. For example when I hit q, it spells out QWERTY. A enters a bunch of stuff, S enters as.

When the phone ran I hit the function button for Answer, it did not work. Only the side button did.

I have pressed Reset twice but it did not fix the problem.

At this stage I am unable to make calls because I can't get pass the password window because I cannot enter the right code.

Question

Stopped making wi-fi connections

I have used wi-fi on my i760 to connect to the Internet since owning it. Recently it stopped making wi-fi connections. It finds the available networks OK, but hangs on connecting. This happens on the wireless network at home and at the office, the same networks I have been using for a year or so. Others access the same networks with phones and other devices, so I am very sure the problem is with the i760. What should I look for?
