Cell radio cannot be turned on

Phone indicates battery is too low, even when fully charged. Cell radio cannot be turned on even when plugged into AC outlet with charging adapter.

This appears to be a fairly common problem with this phone, as I've found several postings on various internet tech forums that were found via a Google search. Phone was sent in for repair of cell radio.

How Do I Use My SCH-I760 As A Modem Or Transfer Data Between It And My Computer?

The SCH-i760 will connect as a modem via USB or Bluetooth, which will enable your PC to connect to the internet, (through the use of the modem selection).

Bluetooth Connection - The i760 does have Bluetooth 2.0 and supports DUN Profile.

To access this device as a modem requires the use of the VZAccess Manager that was included in the box and a Bluetooth Dongle, (not included), that has been properly installed and is active on your PC. It is important to note that different Bluetooth vendors require different drivers to operate different profiles. Please consult Verizon Wireless for support. This method of connectivity is unsupported by Samsung.

USB Connection - The handsets ships with ActiveSync 4.5, Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 (for Vista), VZAccess Manager as well as a USB data cable.

To access this device as a modem you will need to use the VZAccess Manager. Due to this you will need to contact Verizon Wireless for support. This method of connectivity is unsupported by Samsung.

The SCH-i760 can sync with your PC by connecting with ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center, and the USB cable provided in the box.

ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center must be installed and setup properly to connect to your PC. You will need to install the drivers for the handset that are provided in the box.

There are no configurable options to access internet or browse Verizon website without WI-FI or if the internet service is not activated on the handset by your Service Provider.

This is my 2nd sch-i760. My old one, when you text message a person you could view the entire conversation by scrolling.

This one, everytime I get a message from the same person it shows up as a seperate text message. I'm sure it's a setting I have to change but I can't find it anywhere?

The character limit per message in text messaging for SCH-I760 is160 and that could be the reason why the message shows up as a separate text message.

There's an available software for Windows 7 32bit and for Windows 7 64bit. You need to download the compatible version of WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center) for the Windows 7 OS of your personal computer. Problems with Mobile 6.1 snyc and windows 7 drievr for my phone

SCH i760. I need a driver which is recognized by Windows 7 in order to get the windows mobile 6.1 to consistently recognize and snyc my phone to outlook 2010. I have searched many places and can only find a driver set up for Windows Vista. Any direction you can provide would be appreciated.

Regarding about your concern, you can use the Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for 64 bit which you can download on www.microsoft.com for you to connect the SCH-I760 handset to your computer that has a Windows 7 OS. However, this software/driver is only compatible with MS Outlook 2003 and 2007.

Question

Phone won't make a call

This is a new problem. When I try to make a call, it says it is dialing, but then says Call Ended. Will not make outgoing call. It will receive incoming calls. Tried resetting and rebooting by removing battery. Any ideas?

How do I know if the software is current of if I need and upgrade?

I recenetly purchased my i760 and have noticed that there is a upgrade available to Windows 6.1. My device has Windows 6.1, so am I all set or are there patches I might need? I know how to find the versions, but there is nothing to tell if my version is the most current version.

How do I get the phone to send and receive photos with MMS messages?

My wife and I recently bought identical SCH-i760's. Both would initially send and receive photos, but her phone recently stopped. If I (or someone else) send her an MMS message with photo attached, she gets the message, but with no picture. If she chooses "receive," it will appear to be receiving the picture, but the progress bar never advances, and she never gets the picture. If she tries to send a picture, she has the same problem. Any ideas or suggestions?
