Question

Pop Out Side Menu

When I got the phone yesterday there was a pop out side menu with a number of apps. This morning that menu is gone and I can't figure out how to get it to come back. I'm sure it's simple and I'm going to go "duh". Anyone know how to make that appear again?

I actually had multi window enabled, but the tab disappeared. I just disabled and re-enabled it and the tab was right there on the side of the screen again.

All I do to get that pop out side menu is do the following:
1. swipe down the top of your screen to get a menu
2. go to the far right of that menu and look for the icon that says "Multi Window" and click on that
3. once that multi window icon is highlighted and you click on your back button, your pop up window button should be on the side for you to use

Hello! Congratulations on your brand new Samsung Galaxy Note II!

There are two possible things that happened here. Let's check first if you have disabled "Multi Window" on the Display Settings. (Settings > Display > Multi Window) Please make sure you check the box to enable it, then the side menu should automatically appear. Now, if you press and hold the Back Key, the side bar should re-appear. Same goes to getting if off, just press and hold the Back Key again.

Tip: You can actually re-position the location of the side menu. Just simply touch and hold the round part of the menu and you can drag it to the desired edge of your screen.

Question about drawing on images

So I am trying to draw on the front of an image that I took with my camera. When I hit draw on image however I have no option to draw on the front, it automatically flips it to the back of the picture? How do I draw on the image itself with my Spen?

I believe you can draw on it by opening the picture in your files and eject your spen and voila! Or use one of the apps for editing pictures that are installed on the phone, if not then there is a variety of apps to get that will allow you to do this. try ripple world or pudding camera.

take a screen shot of the image. use your spen to draw in the screen shot and it will crop out the rest of the screen shot, and then paste what you cropped out to where ever you want to paste it to.

Hello,

There are limitations to what apps can go on the multiwindow feature. You can tap, hold and then drag the icon bar to see the list of apps and features available on the Multiwindow. The default Youtube and Google should be available when you drag to see the list but make sure you have these apps installed.

Only certain apps can take advantage of multi-window functionality and the phone will automatically add those to the bar and/or into the edit window where you can add them to the bar.

I have the same problem. There are just the handful of apps available in the multi window, and I have found no way to add any others to the prebuilt list. Also using VZW version.

Please try to do a soft reset and perform each troubleshooting provided below.

· Soft reset: Turn of the phone, remove and put the battery back after 1-2 minutes.

· Force Stop the Touchwiz application.
1. From the home screen, press Menu
2. Select Settings
3. Select Applications
4. Select Manage Applications
4. Touch the All tab
5. Select Touchwiz
6. Tap on Force Stop

· Clear Data
1. From the home screen, press Menu
2. Select Settings
3. Select Applications
4. Select Manage Applications
4. Touch the All tab
5. Select Touchwiz
6. Tap on Clear data.

If any of this won't work, please do a Factory reset on your phone.
1. From the home screen, press Menu

Black Friday accessory pricing?

I can't finish registering my preordered phone because you haven't released it yet. How am supposed to take part in your black friday accessories deals? I would like to buy a bunch of the accessories with your sale prices but you are restricting any customers that have Verizon Wireless by ending your sale the day before we get our phones.

For NFC to work between the Note II and non-samsung devices, you may need to disable the S-Beam in Settings>More settings>S Beam. This allowed me to beam to HTC devices and a Nexus 7. Otherwise, the Play Store launched and displayed an error stating the requested app was not available.

Set the system and notification volume at Settings>Sound>Volume. Here you can have the ringer at full blast, then alerts like the battery charged sound at zero. This would be either the System or Notifications slider.

How to change Samsung keyboard to show Hebrew (עברית)? (all other languages, including Arabic, work fine!)

The Hebrew (עברית) setting does not work with the Verizon versions of Samsung Galaxy. After adding Hebrew (עברית) to the "Input language", the Hebrew does not show in the [spacebar] or globe option on the keyboard.

Other languages, such as Arabic work fine !

Hebrew works fine with non-Samsung keyboards or Non-Samsung Android phones.

Suspicious bug ... (?!)

The Hebrew *is* listed on the standard Samsung keyboard.

It is called: עברית

However, after selecting Hebrew in the "Input languages" settings, the Hebrew (עברית) is not showing in the keyboard's [spacebar] or menu.

Any other language I tried worked fine, except Hebrew (עברית)

This method works fine with Non-Samsung Android phones.

To view the stock languages available on your device go to Settings>Language and Input>Language. Unfortunately Hebrew is not listed as a language option. Note: This is for the default Samsung keyboard. If you are using a third party keyboard we cannot assist you since we do not support third party applications.

Why is Samsung Account sync disabled?

When I go to settings on my Galaxy Note 2 and scroll down and select Samsung account, It tells me that sync is disabled.

When I go to the account settings, it won't let me turn on sync, no matter what I try.

I want to autosync s-notes between my Galaxy Note 2 phone, and my Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet

I have this exact problem and am getting no help from either Verizon or Samsung. The standard answer seems to be "do a factory reset to solve this issue", which of course does not solve the issue. Verizon says this is not a known issue to them even though it is all over the android forums. Someone needs to fix it as this is a feature that I was looking forward to and bought both the Note 2 and the 10.1 in the same month just to be able to sync the native apps.

Why did Verizon Block Kies?

Ive been trying to connect to Kies. I had heard that Verizon blocked it to use their backup assistant plus. I think that software is not nearly as good as Kies. I'm hoping they will allow users to use Kies instead of Backup assistant plus soon.

Question

Wi-Fi bug after upgrading Galaxy Note 2 to 4.1.2

After upgrading to 4.1.2, my Galaxy Note 2 refuses to connect to 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi routers, unless I am within 2 feet away from the router. Connection to 5GHz band is fine, but with the typical limited range.

I am getting "Authentication error" if the distance from the router is more than a meter. Nearby routers that used to work fine, are now "out of range".

I did change the "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" to "never", as suggested here.

This problem is well documented on the Internet. The suggested "fix" (disable wi-fi power save) by dialing “*#0011#” does not work with my Verizon model.

HELP! What should I do? Is there a workaround until next software update fixes it?

I too have this issue - it will not even see my router(s) to allow me to connect. When I reboot Wifi works for a short time and then will not see the router. This is all over the Verizon forums. It started with the update. Samsung/Verizon needs to issue a fix quickly for this or they will see a lot of customer loss.

If you want to transfer files from your phone to your computer you may use the USB cable that came with your device to transfer data as a Media device using MTP (Media Transfer Protocol), or as a Camera using PTP (Photo Transfer Protocol).

1. Attach your device to the computer with a USB data cable. Your device recognizes the connection as the last connection method you used, and displays a connection alert in the Status bar and Notifications.
2. From the Home screen, sweep your finger downward to display Notifications, then touch the alert.
3. Select a connection method:
• Media device (MTP): Transfer media files with Windows, or using Android file transfer on a Mac (see www.android.com/filetransfer).
• Camera (PTP): Transfer photos using camera software, and transfer files to computers that do not support MTP.
4. On your computer, choose a method for accessing your device. Available options depend on the programs installed on your computer.
5. Transfer files to the memory card. When finished, you can disconnect the USB cable.

You may also use Kies air to manage content saved on your device via your desktop or mobile browser using Wi-Fi technology. The pre-loaded Kies air app connects via Wi-Fi to the Kies application, which you can install on your computer.

is there any software update option coming up?

unlike other Galaxy note this one doesnt have the phone,firmare,software update check option on setting (except only software update). are we going to get notified?

T Why is that the only USB cord that will work with my laptop is the USB cord that cane with the phone.

THe only USB cord that works when trying to transfer files to and from my laptop is the cord that came with the phone. Why?

The most compatible USB cord for your phone is the one that came in with the phone, because it is specially designed for it.

SD Card

Why can't I put my apps on the SD card? Your product says it can hold up to 64 GBs on an sd card but I can't get my apps on it, why? My phone is already have full and I just bought it.
