How do I sort Apps alphabetically in grid view?

I don't want to have to drag all my Apps around to different pages of "All Apps" - how do I tell Android to sort the icons? I hope the sort just happens (isn't a mode) so I can customize after that.

Files deleted from the memory card or phone memory can no longer be retreived.

We recommend you to always have a back up copy of your files in your phone, memory card or computer in case files had been accidentally deleted.

Hi!

Thank you for your correspondence.

Apparently, we do not have any available software nor drivers that you would be needing for you to connect the phone to the computer.

If you are going to transfer media files from your Samsung Fascinate™ Android Smartphone (SCH-I500) to the computer, you may do mass storage so you could transfer them to the computer. For you to connect the phone to the computer, it would require you to have the memory card inside the phone and a data cable that is part of your standard box contents, once you already have the requirements, and then do the following:

If the microSD memory card came from another phone and you could not saved any files on it. Try to format the microSD memory card using your phone so that the phone will recognize the microSD memory card inserted in it.

To format a memory card:
1. Select the Applications Tab.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select SD Card & Phone Storage.
4. Select Unmount SD Card.
5. Select Format SD Card.
6. Select Tap Format SD Card.
7. Choose Erase Everything.
When the format process is complete, the 'Format SD Card' option will grey out.

Note: Formatting the microSD memory card will delete all information saved on your memory card. I will suggest backing up first your files saved on the microSD memory card.

Mass Storage Settings
1. Select Menu.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select USB Settings
4. Check the box besides Mass Storage.
5. Press the Home Key to return to the home screen.

Tip: Make sure that the Bluetooth is deactivated on the phone.

Connecting to the computer:
1. Ensure that a microSD memory card with content is loaded into the device's memory card slot.
2. Connect one end of the supported data cable into the device's USB port and the other end into an available USB port on the computer.
3. "USB Connected" will show briefly in the Notification Bar followed by a USB icon.
4. Tap and hold the Notification Bar and pull it down by sliding your finger down the screen.
5. Tap on USB Connected and then select Mount.
6. If prompted on the PC, select "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" from the Removable Disk pop-up.
7. If not prompted as in step 6, on the PC open My Computer and select the Removable Disk drive letter that was assigned to the device.

Note: It is now possible to drag and drop (copy & paste) music files between the device and the PC. It is recommended that separate folders for different media types be created on the memory card for better organization.

If the notification does not show up on the phone or on the computer, try to turn off you phone or connect the USB cable to another USB port on your computer.

Question

How to connect cellphone to TV

I was told by a salesman that I could access my home TV using Slingbox by accessing the internet with my cellphone. Then once I had my TV programming on my cellphone, I was told that I could buy an adapter to connect my cellphone to my remote TV (in my camper) and watch my home programming on the TV in my camper. I cannot find any information on what adapter I need to buy to connect my cellphone to my TV. I have the Samsung Fascinate. Can you tell my if there is such an adapter for my phone?

Regarding your concern, the Samsung Fascinate (SCH-i500) doesn't have a 4G capability. From all the Galaxy S US handsets manufactured, only the Samsung Epic 4G has the 4G capability.

Please visit the Android Market at www.market.android.com, there you should be able to find a third party application that offers the features that you desire. Unfortunately, there isn't a factory stock configurable option to get up light up notifications on the Fascinate.

Galaxy S i500 Extended Battery (2200 mA) Questions

Hi there! How much longer does this battery last compared to the other one that comes with the phone? Also, Why does it require another battery cover? Is it larger? Can I still use the silicon rubber cover over it that I have now? Thanks!

Regarding your concern, here's how to set an MP3 file or downloaded ringtone to a specific contact on the SCH-I500 Fascinate.

1.Press the Home Key
2.Tap on Applications
3.Tap on My Files
4.Navigate to and tap on the file
5.Press the Menu Key and tap Set as
6.Tap Individual ringtone
Note: If you desire to make all calls the same ringtone, select Voice call ringtone.
7.Tap on the contact in the phonebook.

8.Tap Save to assign the ringtone to the contact.

Cant connect to computer?

Safe mode is a method that allows the device to run without non-essential applications. You may try doing the soft reset on the phone by taking out the battery for at least 10-15 seconds and then put the battery back in and evaluate it. If it's still not working and still doing the same thing, you may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a timely manner.
