Hi, I just want to know what kind of headset are you referring? There are two different kinds of headset that you can connect with your phone. There’s the regular stereo mono headset that once you plug in, the phone will easily recognize it. And another headset will be a Bluetooth headset, and you need to activate Bluetooth on your phone and the headset itself, and after that you will pair each other. If you want you can send us message again and tell us which of these two you are referring. And we will give you details and assistance about it.

When troubleshooting GPS service issues for SCH-i500, be sure to verify the type of application in which you are experiencing the issue. You could potentially be utilizing one or multiple GPS services listed below:
• VZW location Services – Verizon aGPS Server For VZW Branded application (e.g VZNav ) – Uses location services provided by Verizon Wireless.
• Standalone GPS Services – GPS signal for other 3rd party application. Uses location services based on Standalone GPS (3rd Party Provider).
• Google Location Services – Google branded application. Uses location services provided by Google.
Depending upon the application in which you are experiencing the issue, that GPS service option must be enabled on the device. For optimal GPS performance in all applications it is recommended to enable all 3 GPS service options.
Verify that you have appropriately enabled the desired GPS service on the device by following the path below:
Menu>Settings>Location and Security>
Choose one or multiple GPS services based on the application(s) that you are using and agree.
VZW location services- By Selecting “VZW location services” you are enabling Verizon Wireless and third party authenticated and validated location services to access certain location information available through this device and/or network.
Standalone GPS services - By selecting “Standalone GPS Services’ you are allowing access to all location information by any third party through web access or any software or peripheral components you choose to install, download, add/or attach to the device or any other means. Enabling this functionality could pose certain risks to users of this device.”
Google location services - By selecting “Google location services’ you are allowing access to all location information by Google and any third party through web access or any software or peripheral components you choose to install, download, add/or attach to the device or any other means. Enabling this functionality could pose certain risks to users of this device.”
After the user agrees the below screen will appear displaying – Location Consent – Allow Google’s location service to collect anonymous location data. Collection will occur even when no applications are running.”

There is no available option for the Samsung Fascinate to calibrate the screen.

The screen of the phone is made up of capacitive screen that does not need any form of calibration procedures.

Regarding the ability to sync with Outlook, Samsung does not provide an application for this option. However,you may sync your phone over the air with your Gmail account.

You need to create a Gmail account on the computer and set up your Gmail account on the phone. You also need to import/export your outlook to your Gmail account. Once you did that, on your phone, go to settings, accounts and sync, tap on your Gmail account, make sure that the Sync Calendar, Sync contacts, Sync Gmail are all check. From there your Gmail will automatically sync to your phone.

Hi!

Here's how you connect and transfer files between your phone and your computer:

Connecting & Transferring

1.Choose mass storage

> tap on home screen
> tap on applications
> tap on settings
> tap on applications
> tap on usb settings
> tap on mass storage

2.Uncheck debugging

> tap on home screen
> tap on applications
> tap on development
> uncheck usb debugging.
> Plug the cable into the phone.
> Plug the other end of the cable in a USB port.

Tip: Avoid the use of multi-port hubs if possible.

> Sweep down on the Notification bar and Tap USB connected-Select to copy files to/from the computer.
> Tap Mount.
The computer may throw an option window.
> Click on Open folder to view files.
> Navigate to the desired files to be transferred and either drag and drop them over or copy and paste them into the directories.

Please soft reset the phone first (turn off and remove the battery for about a minute and put it back in the phone and turn it on again) then turn on the Wi-fi again. If problem still persist then the phone needs to be Reset however you have to contact Samsung Technical Support 1-888-987-4357 Direct Hotline for further assistance. Before doing so, please back up all your contacts with your Service Provider and media files (pictures, videos and music) to your SD card because Reset will restore back the phone into its original factory settings or it will delete all the information that's been saved on the phone memory.

The SCH-i500 does not support a direct TV-out capability found on other handsets to playback media. The handset can playback media through DLNA. To allow other DLNA-enabled devices to access media files on your device, you must activate media sharing, follow the steps below :

Media Sharing

Note: You must first activate the WLAN (Wi-Fi) feature and add a WLAN profile.

1. While in standby mode, tap “Applications”
2. Select AllShare.
3. Select Settings.
4. Select Share media.
5. Tap the Share video, Share image and Share sound.
6. Select OK.
7. Select “Yes”.

To Adjust the following settings to customize the DLNA feature, follow the steps below:

1. While in standby mode, tap “Applications”
2. Select “Allshare”.

Are you inquiring about the Sensors on the upper end of the phone?

They are call the Ambient Light Sensor and Proximity Sensor.

Here are their functions:

Ambient Light Sensor

The ambient light sensor will report to the handset the amount of light that is near the sensor. The ambient light sensor controls automatic adjustment of backlight brightness.

Proximity Sensor

The proximity sensor allows the handset to perform certain functions based on objects detected near. This allows the handset to disable the touch screen while on a call to prevent unintentional activation of on screen options during a call.

The serial number of the phone is located underneath the battery on top of the bar codes.
It will say hex or meid. It is also indicated on the box of the phone that came with.

You can try doing a soft reset on the phone by turning off the phone removing the battery for a couple of seconds and put it back again.

Hi, your phone the Samsung Fascinate has the capability to save a picture from an email, and it can be received and viewed. And if you are going to save it you will need to check if there is an option to save it. Because not all pictures has the option to be saved. Once you received a picture & want to save it.
To save a picture, just:
-tap on the menu key
-tap on application
-tap on email
-open your email that you received with the picture file included
-tap on menu
-select download attachment
-or you can just try to tap & hold the attachment (long tap)
Note: please check on the menu or options if the attachment can be saved or not. For every picture that you saved, you can view it on the file or gallery folder.

You might just have accidentally rotated the pictures upside down before you uploaded it to Facebook. Please try to check the pictures and below are the steps on how to rotate it :

From the Home screen, select Applications > Gallery.
Touch a category, then touch a picture to view it.
While viewing a picture, tap on the the screen or touch Menu for options:
• Share: Share the selected picture via AllShare, Bluetooth, Messaging, Picasa, or Gmail.
• Delete: Erase the picture.
• More:
– Details: Display information about the picture.
– Set as: Assign the picture as a Contact icon, or as Wallpaper.
– Crop: Drag the edges of the crop tool to select an area of the picture, then touch Save to save just the selected area, removing the rest of the picture.
– Rotate left: Change the orientation of the picture.
– Rotate right: Change the orientation of the picture.

Hi the phone has “phonebook access profile” meaning you can sync your phonebook to a compatible car bluetooth system. Once the phone is paired to your car kit contacts will automatically sync to your car kit.
In case it is not syncing, you might need to check with your car bluetooth manufacturer if it also has a “phonebook access profile”.

Why won't my Fascinate Auto-Connect to my Car Stereo?

I have auto connect set to on in the stereo, it's been paired and stored as a known phone. Yet it won't auto-connect to the phone. I dug around and someone said the phone must support always discoverable mode which the Fascinate does not support. Without that I don't see how the stereo would know the phone is in the area to connect. How do I get this working and is there any know apps I could install to trigger this. I've looked thru the appmarket but didn't see anything.

Hi, there are no configurable options to auto connect the phone to your car stereo you need to manually connect your phone to your car stereo.
