Thank you for your inquiry. Regarding your inquiry, there are no configurable options on the phone setting to keep the screen unlocked while on a phone call.

There is a proximity sensor/ambient light sensor on the upper left front of the phone.

Proximity Sensor - The proximity sensor allows the handset to perform certain functions based on objects detected near. This allows the handset to disable the touch screen while on a call to prevent unintentional activation of on screen options during a call.

Hi malindaja!

Thank you for your inquiry. You need to transfer your music files from your iTunes library to a folder in your computer before you can transfer it you your phone. If you are going to transfer media files, you may do mass storage so you could transfer them to the computer. For you to connect the phone to the computer, it would require you to have the memory card inside the phone and a data cable, once you already have the requirements, and then do the following:

If the microSD memory card came from another phone and you could not saved any files on it. Try to format the microSD memory card using your phone so that the phone will recognize the microSD memory card inserted in it.

Mass Storage Settings
1. Select Menu.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Applications.
4. Select USB Settings
5. Check the box besides Mass Storage.
6. Press the Home Key to return to the home screen.

Make sure Bluetooth is deactivated on the phone.

Connecting phone to computer
1. Connect the USB cable to the device and to the computer.
2. Bring the Notification Bar, and select USB Connected.
3. Select Mount.

Check on the computer screen if it will recognize the device and Removable Disk will appear on the screen. Select open folder to view files. Choose appropriate folder depending on the media file that you would like to transfer, drag and drop/copy and paste the file from the source folder going to the destination folder.

Question

Why does my Samsung Galaxy S automatically go into airplane mode?

I can't get the phone out of airplane mode even when you check the box. The field just goes black and doesn't do anything. I try to make a call out and it says that it is in airplane mode but I can't turn it off. Also says that the date is Dec 31 at 4:02 pm. It is June 12 at 9:09 pm right now. I've taken the battery out and let it sit and still does the same thing when I start it back up.

Thanks for reaching out! Here are the steps of how to turn off airplane mode in your phone.

Press the Home Key
Press the Menu Key
Tap on Settings
Tap on Wireless and network
Tap off Flight mode

If you already turned off airplane mode and still shows you that it is still activated. You can try to power cycle your phone by turning the phone off>pulling/replacing the phone after 2-3 mins>powering on.

After hooking up your phone to the computer, you will see the USB symbol in the "communicator line" (at the top of your display). pull this down by touching and sliding it down. select "USB connected", another window appears, select "Mount". you should now be able to view, move, access files on your phone and pc.

Tap My Files
Tap download
Tap Menu
Tap More
Tap Copy and then select the desired picture
Tap Copy
Select the External Sd card (with a chip icon)

Tap Paste here
Tap Yes to confirm

Hi Tookul!

Thank you for your correspondence. Are you referring to the Keis Mini? Kies 2.0 is not supported by the Fascinate SCH-i500.

Kies mini is only compatible for GSM US Galaxy S phones for upgrading the software of the phone.

Currently, we do not have any available software nor drivers that you would be needing for you to connect the phone to the computer.

If you are going to transfer media files from your Samsung Fascinate™ Android Smartphone (SCH-I500) to the computer, you may do mass storage so you could transfer them to the computer.

For you to connect the phone to the computer, it would require you to have the memory card inside the phone and a data cable that is part of your standard box contents, once you already have the requirements, and then do the following:

If the microSD memory card came from another phone and you could not saved any files on it. Try to format the microSD memory card using your phone so that the phone will recognize the microSD memory card inserted in it.

To format a memory card:
1. Select the Applications Tab.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select SD Card & Phone Storage.
4. Select Unmount SD Card.
5. Select Format SD Card.
6. Select Tap Format SD Card.
7. Choose Erase Everything.
When the format process is complete, the 'Format SD Card' option will grey out.

Note: Formatting the microSD memory card will delete all information saved on your memory card. I will suggest backing up first your files saved on the microSD memory card.

Mass Storage Settings
1. Select Menu.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select USB Settings
4. Check the box besides Mass Storage.
5. Press the Home Key to return to the home screen.

Tip: Make sure that the Bluetooth is deactivated on the phone.

Connecting to the computer:
1. Ensure that a microSD memory card with content is loaded into the device's memory card slot.
2. Connect one end of the supported data cable into the device's USB port and the other end into an available USB port on the computer.
3. "USB Connected" will show briefly in the Notification Bar followed by a USB icon.
4. Tap and hold the Notification Bar and pull it down by sliding your finger down the screen.
5. Tap on USB Connected and then select Mount.
6. If prompted on the PC, select "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" from the Removable Disk pop-up.
7. If not prompted as in step 6, on the PC open My Computer and select the Removable Disk drive letter that was assigned to the device.

Note: It is now possible to drag and drop (copy & paste) picture and video files between the device and the PC. It is recommended that separate folders for different media types be created on the memory card for better organization.

If the notification does not show up on the phone or on the computer, try to turn off you phone or connect the USB cable to another USB port on your computer.

Samsung Mesmerize randomly goes into airplane mode

My wife & I both have Samsung Mesmerize phones through US Cellular. We're both experiencing an issue where our phone will randomly/spontaneously go into airplane mode. I've searched the web and found that this appears to be a common issue. Is Samsung doing anything to work on it? I've upgraded the firmware on both phones to Froyo (Android 2.2). This hasn't solved the issue. It must be phone-based as my wife and I don't have the same apps on our phones except WordFeud, Words With Friends & a Gin Rummy game. I believe that, other than those, all our installed apps are different.

Thanks for reaching out! Safe mode is a method that allows the device to run without non-essential applications. If the phone is running low on battery it automatically set itself to safe mode so that you can still retrieve datas that has not been saved on your device.

You may try doing the soft reset on the phone by taking out the battery for at least 10-15 seconds and then put the battery back in and evaluate it. Thanks for reaching out! If you want to stop the music player from playing in the background, please try to delete from your notification bar.

Sweep your finger downward from the top of the screen to display the Notifications Panel>Touch a notification to clear it.

Touch Clear to clear all notifications.

You may also try to stop it by simply closing the music player when you Tap on (x)close when the music player is open.
