Hi waltcar!

Thank you for your inquiry.

Apparently, we do not have software or driver available for you to connect the phone to the computer.

If you are going to transfer media files from your Samsung Fascinate™ Android Smartphone (SCH-I500) to the computer, you may do mass storage so you could transfer them to the computer. For you to connect the phone to the computer, it would require you to have the memory card inside the phone and a data cable that is part of your standard box contents, once you already have the requirements, and then do the following:

If the microSD memory card came from another phone and you could not saved any files on it. Try to format the microSD memory card using your phone so that the phone will recognize the microSD memory card inserted in it.

To format a memory card:
1. Select the Applications Tab.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select SD Card & Phone Storage.
4. Select Unmount SD Card.
5. Select Format SD Card.
6. Select Tap Format SD Card.
7. Choose Erase Everything.
When the format process is complete, the 'Format SD Card' option will grey out.

Note: Formatting the microSD memory card will delete all information saved on your memory card. I will suggest backing up first your files saved on the microSD memory card.

Mass Storage Settings
1. Select Menu.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select USB Settings
4. Check the box besides Mass Storage.
5. Press the Home Key to return to the home screen.

Tip: Make sure that the Bluetooth is deactivated on the phone.

Connecting to the computer:
1. Ensure that a microSD memory card with content is loaded into the device's memory card slot.
2. Connect one end of the supported data cable into the device's USB port and the other end into an available USB port on the computer.
3. "USB Connected" will show briefly in the Notification Bar followed by a USB icon.
4. Tap and hold the Notification Bar and pull it down by sliding your finger down the screen.
5. Tap on USB Connected and then select Mount.
6. If prompted on the PC, select "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" from the Removable Disk pop-up.
7. If not prompted as in step 6, on the PC open My Computer and select the Removable Disk drive letter that was assigned to the device.

Note: It is now possible to drag and drop (copy & paste) music files between the device and the PC. It is recommended that separate folders for different media types be created on the memory card for better organization.

If the notification does not show up on the phone or on the computer, try to turn off you phone or connect the USB cable to another USB port on your computer.

Should you desire additional assistance resolving this, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

Hi dwilliams61!

Thank you for your inquiry.

Regarding your concern, upon checking the specifications and settings on the Samsung Fascinate™ Android Smartphone (SCH-I500), the phone does not come with voice dialing feature.

You may search on the Android Market and look for compatible application that you may download for this feature. However, we do not support the use of 3rd party applications and services with any of our devices. For this reason, we do not have information compiled on possible resources.

Again, we thank you for comments and appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

Question

Why is my Samsung Galaxy Sending my Text/SMS messages to the wrong people?

I have had my phone for about 8 months now, and recently it has been sending texts to the wrong contact. Sometimes I will have a conversation open and respond to a text, and then another person on my contact list will respond asking me why I sent them what ever it was I sent for the contact I was originally speaking to.
Then when I go look at my conversations it still shows it was sent to the person it was originally intended for, but when I ask that person if they ever received it, they respond that they haven't.

I have also read multiple websites of people reporting the same concerns, so are you guys working on fixing this problem anytime soon?

Hi hannah1019!

Thank you for taking the time to inform us of the issue concerning your Samsung product.

Regarding your concern, we recommend having a soft reset on the Samsung Fascinate™ Android Smartphone (SCH-I500). Soft reset is removing the battery for about a minute on your phone and putting it back just for you to refresh the settings on the handset.

Should this troubleshooting step did not work; we invite to contact our Customer Support Center as they can troubleshoot this issue in a timelier manner than we could through forum correspondence.

Question

Is the a better battery for the Samsung Galaxy S cell phone?

I just purchased the galaxy s phone and the battery life is VERY short. It doesn't even last the 8 hours that I am at work. I have all apps off, no GPS on, no WiFi on and I haven't done very much on it to have used the battery that much. If the battery is not better than this then the phone will not be of much use.

Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry. I'm sorry to hear about your issue with this devices battery.

From the Home screen of the phone, please go to Settings > Application > Running Applications and select every applications that is still running and select stop for you to close or stop the operation of an application. After doing that, you may do a soft reset for you to refresh the programming of handset. This is by taking out the battery for at least 10-15 seconds and then put the battery back in and evaluate it.

And also, the battery power consumption depends on a number of factors, such as network configuration, signal strength, operating temperature, features selected, frequency of calls, and voice, data, and other application usage patterns.

Some variables that may affect battery life are:

• Backlight settings set to always on or a long amount of time
• Ring tone settings set to higher volume settings
• Vibrate settings turned on
• Using Internet Services including Text Messaging
• Making and/or Receiving calls in, or simply standing by in, an analog service area
• If you tend to be in a "weak" coverage area where your signal strength meter shows only 1 to 2 bars
• Using non-SAMSUNG charging accessories can cause battery life and other issues, as well as void the manufacturer’s limited warranty.

If it's still not working and still doing the same thing, you may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a more timely manner than we could through this forum.

Question

While Charging my Fascinate, why does my screen lock up?

When I plug in my fascinate to charge it, I lose all functionality of the thing. I can touch the 4 main buttons at the bottom (menu, home, back, and search) but as far as touching anything on the actual screen, it does not allow me to. Is there a way to turn this off so that I can use my phone while charging it (texting, browsing, etc.). Or is my phone even supposed to be doing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to inform you that the screen lock is a default design on the handset. Once you’re in the Home Screen, the proximity sensor alerts the screen to lock automatically. All Galaxy S phones has this feature and there are no configurable options to neither disable it nor change it.

You can - but it is only recommended for advanced users....

google search 'droid root phone' instructions...

You have to hack your cell phone, and you may void the warranty.

hoping we will have the ability when DROID 2.3 OR 3.0 comes out.
