Question

Usb is Not Recognized?

I've had this phone (Samsung Continuum Galaxy, Android update 2.1.1) for less than a year now, and had nothing but problems with it thus far. The newest one is that my phone is not being recognized by any computer- no matter it's OS. I've deleted and reinstalled the driver, and still to no avail. I'm wondering if this is a software issue with my phone, or if it could possibly be the cord?? My phone will charge, but I cannot access it (mass storage/media player) from any computer without receiving the pop-up "USB Not Recognized. Device has malfunctioned and Windows cannot recognize this device. Remove hardware and reapply. If problem persists, replace device." (It's paraphrased, but that's the gist with the keywords.) Thank you for any help.

This could be a hard ware error on your phone, however if could also be that your not selecting a wifi network to connect to. Go to the setting option on your phone.

Setting< Wireless & Networks< Wifi settings< Turn on Wifi< Select the wireless net work you would like to connect to and if it has a pass word it enter it and it should connect. If it has no password slect it and it should connect.

To get the password you will need to contact the network admin.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Regarding your concern, there is no need to install any software on the computer for you to connect the handset with your PC. All you need to have is a memory card inside the handset and a data cable then set the phone to mass storage.

To connect the phone to the computer, please follow the steps below:
Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
If Select USB Mode appears on the display press the clear key to return to the standby screen OR if the MTP Connect to the PC... appears on the display, press OK then with Yes highlighted press OK to disconnect from the PC
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Select USB Mass Storage
From the PC, double click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop
Double click on the newly created drive letter (which may appear as an icon or text, depending on your View settings)
Double click on the folder to view the contents
Copy and paste or drag n drop the files to/from the destination on the PC
From the handset, press OK for Disconnect
With Yes highlighted, press OK then remove the USB data cable from both the handset and PC

To delete items from the Sd card on your samsung continuum you need to perform some steps. The process is fairly easy and can be done multiple ways. I will show you the easiest way to do it. First go to the app draw on your phone, next look for an app called My Files and it has a little folder as the icon, click on that app and your now looking at the files on your sd card. Now to delete them press the menu key on your phone and there will be an option called "delete" select it and then check the files you would like to delete and press okay. You now have deleted those files off your sd card.

First off this was a problem with the android version 2.1, however samsung released an update to 2.2 recently. this can be updated through your phone over the air for free. Download all the updates and make sure your system is up to date. Once your system is up to date that problem shouldn't happen anymore. One reason why I think that was happening was because the phone was loading them or you were running a lot of processes and the phone was bogged down. Make sure to close all apps after your done using them. HOpe this helps.

why do my pictures take so long to send?

whether it is through an email or a text message, any picture taken with my phone camera can take between 15 minutes to 5 days to send to any phone on any carrier, and is generally only pushed through when someone else (not necessarily who i sent the picture to) sends a picture to me.

That information is false, the update for 2.2 was released I believe sometime near febuary 14 2012 it took a long time but, its finally here and it seems to be a good update so far. When updating your devise you need to go to settings<about phone< check for software updates< check now. There will be 2 updates for you phone. The first update is very small and is not a software update for 2.2 but you need to download this one first. Allow it to update and your phone to reboot. after the reboot once again go and check for software updates, and this time ther will be another software update for you phone. Download it ( this will take some time as it is a large update and it is over the air depending on your service status) once the update finishes downloading you will be promoted to allow it to install hit okay and your phone will be shut down and the update will begin, allow it to update and your phone will reboot automatically. Congratulations you now have 2.2 the official upgrade. Enjoy :)

Question

how do i activate usb setting on my phone so that my computer recognizes usb is attached and so that phone recognizes my computer?

I cannot export video from my phone to my computer. Video is too large to send by email. We have tried wireless to upload video to youtube, all it says repeatedly is Retrying. Nothing happens. So I tried connecting usb to phone and computer but no window pops up on my computer saying a device is attached, and in notifications window on my phone, it doesn't say usb is attached. I have read manual, it says USB connected should show up in notifications on my phone, but it doesn't.
