Question

What type of fire-wire cable is needed for the SC-D6550 mini-dv video camera?

I don't think the video transfer cable is the right one for my camera/computer set-up. We bought this years ago, but I'd like to transfer the video from the mini-dv tapes onto my computer, and the only cable that came with the camera (USB) won't do. Plus, I'm not finding a 4-pin to 6-pin fire-wire cable to fit this particular camera. The 4-pin heads on the cables I'm finding are too large. This camera takes a very tiny one! Please help!

I purchased my fire wire (4-pin to 6-pin) when I purchased my camera at Best Buy. It says Geek squad and it has gold heads.

It worked fine on my Windows XP Media center desk top computer.

Now I am trying to use the Usb port on my Vista notebook....having trouble with compatibility of samsung I guess.

insert tape try to start record, verical arrow head appears with a "C", there is no explanation in the user manual as to what that means?

Is there an affordable fix for the play-fade button to view video you just recorded?

I have a 5 year old SC D6550 camcorder. Everything on the photo still works fine. The video seems to record in that mode, however, I can't play any tapes or see what I have recorded a few minutes earlier.
simple: play button on camcorder does not work

How do I get my samsung mini dv scd6550 to play on vista operating system?

I downloaded DirectX 9.0 and the codec downloaded from the samsung Website.
I don't have a fire wire.
I have to operate it on a usb port.
