Question

I bought your headset Model SBH500 last summer. I used it with my DROID while lawn mowing. Great no cords.

At some point I forgot about them till a day or two later. I could not remember where I left them. I checked the DROID and found I was still paired so I walked around the house and outside checking to see where I would lose connection trying to figure out where they could be. I kept this up for a couple of days till I could no longer get a signal figuring that the battery went dead. I gave up and figured they would show up.

Well this spring, after the snow melted my son-in-law came over for a visit and brought them in from out by a evergreen bush along side the driveway where I piled snow. So since the summer with many a rain fall and the total of a Minnesota snow fall those headset were under that bush. A bit dirty, I cleaned them off and plugged into the charger and surprise the charge light came on.

So I left it charge til the light came on and said fully charged. Now will they work. Turned on and checked the DROID and there the SBH500 was waiting to connect. And connect it did.

Started the music on the DRIOD and the headphones came to life sounding as good as they did when new. The only thing that makes them less than 100% is that the vinyl pads are a little weathered from a summer of rain and a winter of snow.

Did I tell you how great your headsets are? :-)

Thank you for your inquiry. When trying to pair the two devices, keep the headset and the other device reasonably close together.

1. Get your headset ready to be paired.

There are 2 cases for being ready to be paired:
• When turning on the headset for the first time.
• When turning on the headset with pressing and holding call button. After the indicator sequentially flashes blue, red, and purple twice, it will turn to blue.

2. Search for the headset on your laptop. Your latop will find “Samsung SBH500.”
3. Select Samsung SBH500.
4. When the laptop asks if you want to pair with it, confirm by selecting Yes or OK.
5. Enter the headset passkey or PIN, “0000 (4 zeros)”.

Should you desire additional assistance resolving this, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357 between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

Question

Is SBH500 supported under Windows XP? And where are the downloads?

I have successfully paired my SBH500 to Windows XP SP3 using the default Bluetooth support built-in to XP. When I look at the BT control panel, I see "Samsung SBH500" on the Devices tab. Then I click Properties and look at the Services tab - and it is empty - no services found. If I go to look for audio devices, I find nothing associated with the SBH500. What can I download or install on XP in order to get stereo audio playback and headset services on the SBH500? Looking for manuals, software or firmware at your website finds nothing - no downloads appear to be available. I know there's at least a manual that came with this headset - so why isn't the manual available online?

Thank you for taking the time to inform us of the issue concerning your Samsung product.

Regarding about your concern, the headband that binds the earpiece is also connected to the earpiece.

Unfortunately, we have no available headband that we can provide for the SBH500 Bluetooth headset. Snapped headband is also considered a physical damage. We recommend purchasing a new SBH500 Bluetooth headset.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this presents.

Question

I have purchased 2 SBH500 units oveer last year.Both broke same place can I claim warranty replacement?

Have receipt and bar code from package. Also have they made an improvement to bow -earphone joint, both have broke at this point. I am legally blind and love the features with my iPhone Bluetooth
