If it's failing intermittently, then there are four possible problems:
1) Loose connection of cable: check the cable connection 2) Defective cable: try another cable 3) Defective output port: try another output device (another Mac, I assume) on the same port. 4) Defective input port: try another monitor on that port, or alternatively, try the HDMI port using an adapter from DP to HDMI
you dont need diplayport cable get a hdmi 1.4 go to windows make your own resolution 1920x1080 progressief 120hz im runnig it now on this hdmi colores en quality is much beter

Question
Receiving an error message on S27A750D
Occasionally, the monitor will turn black and display the following, "Not optimal display settings, please use 1920x1080". The video card is set to 1920x1080 @ 120Hz, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Cycling the monitor's input to HDMI, then back to DisplayPort gets it working again, but I would like to fix the underlying issue so I don't have to keep cycling the input.
I have three S27A750D monitors, and they each seem to have the same symptom occasionally. All three are connected to an ASUS EAH6950 with the Samsung DisplayPort cables included with the monitors. There are no adapters nor converters. Please help!

I've got no answer for you but I get the exact same thing with my S27A750D using an Asus GTX570. I've just been unplugging the displayport cable from the back of the monitor to get my display working again.
I've ordered another displayport cable to test; maybe the one included by Samsung is no good.

How do I troubleshoot syncmaster 3d glasses not pairing with an S27a750d monitor?
I have tried turning on the monitor. Setting it to the various 3d modes (2d->3d, frame sequential, etc). Then pressing the power button on my 3d glasses that were supplied with the monitor. The power button on the glasses blinks green and red for a couple of minutes and then turns off. I would like to determine if it is the glasses or the monitor.

Have you made sure to put your monitor into 3d mode before trying to pair the glasses? They do not turn on unless you switch the monitor over from my findings.
