Question

Water filter won't line up and lock

I've never been able to get the water filter to line up with the lock icon. I have doubts that I've been even getting filtered water for as long as I've owned this refrigerator because my old filters never feel heavy. I purchased the DA29-00003G filter. Can you please advise? I've read the tutorials and nothing works.

I am using the same replacement filter. I have replaced it once using the guide paperwork in the filter box. I had no problem. I suggest you try it again but if the filter is in place and not leaking it should be correct.

Why doesnt my ice cube chute flap close?

The outside flap to the ice chute does not close. Is there anything I can do to try to fix? Can I access this flap from the outside to see what is the problem?

Pour cubes in bowl, place in freezer, rinse ice cube bin under water, dry refill with cubes and install in freezer.

Auto defrost?

This morning there was condensation in freezer and ice was melting in bin. I have turned off power saver , checked clearances , and turned on power freeze. Anything else I should do at this point?

Question

Display panel resets when freezer door opened

On my RSG257AARS fridge, when I open the freezer door, the control panel display will go blank and the ice maker flap will cycle through opening and closing until the freezer door is closed.

When the door is closed, the display panel will perform what looks like a reset (all items on the display are lit up) and then return to the previous state.

Any suggestion on what may be causing this issue and how to correct.

Question

Every now and then we get a buzzing sound eminating from our refrigerator. Is this a problem? We bought the unit in 8/28/2012.

We did not have the ice maker and water dispenser hooked up and the installers (Lowes) said it would be OK. The dividing bar between the refrigerator and the freezer seems to be very warm/almost hot.

Question

Freezer bin falls out

I purchased a SAMSUNG refrigerator/freezer RSG257AARS/XAA in 2010. The (top) freezer bin shelf, to which the drawer is attached, is not wide enough to stay seated in the track molded into the wall of the unit. As a result, everytime the drawer is pulled out, the bin/shelf will fall down on top of the bin below.

Is there a way to solve the problem, or perhaps a retrofit available?

Missing the wire wine rack

Question

All water lines are clear (water dispenser is working) but still no ice.

We have checked all there is to check, and performed the necessary actions, but still no ice formation. Is it now time to get someone to come look at our problem? We have only had this fridge since July 2012. Thanks!

Question

Ice not dropping from my ice maker

My ice will not drop from my ice maker. There is frozen ice there but they will not drop, sometimes the ice will push out and just sit on the top. I push the reset button, but this only makes water spill out all over and then there is a ding dong sound. What has to be done to repair this? What is the ding dong (bell sound)? and should I repair this or replace the ice maker?
