To help put this in perspective, Samsung has received the Overall Customer Satisfaction Award for Refrigerators from JD Power & Associates for five straight years now, 2005-2009, since that particular award has been in existence. So though no product is immune to having negative comments posted on the internet, Samsung has a great track record for top-quality products and very satisfied customers.

Question

I have the RS277 side by side fridge and I am having difficulties managing the humidity. Does anyone know how I can do that?

The inside of my fridge seems overly "humid" and vegetables in the 1st veggie drawer seem to
spoil very quickly. I called a service technician to replace the cover over the top of the drawer thinking
that might be the problem, but it wasn't. That drawer seems a little "loose" but the bottom one seems to be a tight fit and the items in there seem to keep better. I don't know what to do....

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. Most fruits and veggies actually prefer a higher humidity level, as evidenced by the fact that your drawer with the tighter fit has the better-preserved items. I would suggest relocating some of the items from the "looser fitting" drawer to another part of the refrigerator, or to the other drawer, to determine whether a change in the humidity level would help them keep better. It's important to note that Samsung's signature Twin Cooling System ensures a relatively high humidity throughout the refrigerator of approximately 43% compared to conventional cooling systems (which are often 9-17% humidity), and most fruits and vegetables prefer humidity levels of 70% or more. I would suggest consulting a produce expert for more information on which fruits and veggies prefer more/less humid environments.

I would suggest trying to remove then reinstall the water filter cartridge, in case the leak is being caused by a misalignment in the filter installation. If the housing or water lines are leaking, then Samsung does recommend having it serviced by a qualified technician. To find one in your area, please call 800-SAMSUNG.

Thank you for the question. Samsung recommends changing the water filter when the filter indicator light changes to red, which is usually about every 6 months. For best performance you should keep the vent on the back of the RS277 free of lint and dust. For more information, such as how to clean the accessories in your refrigerator and how to troubleshoot issues that may arise, please refer to the User Manual or the Troubleshooting Guide on the product support page of this website.

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your RS277 refrigerator. If the ice does not appear to be dispensing properly as a result of too much ice, please remove the bucket and dump some of the ice out. Check the feeler arm that hangs under the icemaker to make sure it is able to move up and down freely. Press the reset button on the side of the icemaker.

If the feeler arm is not moving freely, or if the ice tray overflows when you press the test button, or If the leak in the freezer is not corrected by resetting the icemaker, your RS277 will require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Please first make sure the icemaker is turned on and the Child Lock has not been engaged. If the tray is full of ice but isn't harvesting, try pressing the Test button on the side of the icemaker. This should cause the tray to rotate and dump the ice then refill. If it does not, your RS277ACBP will require service. answer 1
There are several factors that can effect the ability of an icemaker to produce ice, including water supply, freezer and refrigerator temperatures, and control panel functions. Please check the following to try to resolve the issue:
- Is the water connected, the valve turned on and hoses unkinked and free of obstruction?
- Is your home's water pressure between 20~125 psi? Under normal conditions, a 5.75 oz. glass can be filled in about 10 seconds.
- Is the refrigerator set at the recommended 38°F? If the refrigerator is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- Is the freezer temperature cold enough? Samsung recommends setting the freezer at -2°F.
- Is the icemaker turned on? Make sure the Ice Off icon is not illuminated on the display.
- Is the feeler arm under the icemaker stuck in the "up" position, which would signal to the icemaker that the bucket is full and to stop making ice.
- Is the water filter installed properly and locked in place?
- Did you bleed the air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water from the dispenser since installing or replacing the filter?
- Did you press the Test button on the icemaker to reset it?

If none of the above suggestions helps to resolve the issue, and the ice tray does not fill with water, try removing the water filter temporarily and press the test button on the icemaker again. If the tray fills without a filter installed, then the cartridge is likely clogged or partially clogged and should be replaced. The filter should be replaced about every 6 months based on average usage, but it could become clogged sooner if there are a lot of impurities in the water supply.

If, after checking each of these suggestions, the icemaker still isn't functioning properly, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you.

It's not unusual for some cubes to break when falling into an empty bin. To help prevent the cubes from breaking, allow the bin to fill partially so the cubes don't have as far to fall. It may also help to increase the temperature in the freezer if it is set very low. Samsung recommends setting the freezer at -2°F to -4°F.

Question

Water dispenser dripping

We had to shut off our water (busted valve) and when it was turned back on, the water dispenser started dripping. I've tried flushing out the line, ran more than a gallon of water thru, but to no avail. What can I do to stop the dripping, it's filling the tray in less than a day? Thanx.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. To thoroughly flush the system, it may be necessary to dispense as much as 5-6 gallons of water. A clogged or partially clogged filter can also cause the dispenser to drip steadily, so it's possible that your filter needs to be changed. While Samsung filters are designed to last about 6 months, it may be necessary to change them sooner in homes with higher than average water use or a high level of impurities in the water supply. Be sure to flush the system thoroughly after changing the filter.

If the dispenser is still leaking after you've replaced the water filter, your refrigerator may require service. Please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Question

doesn't make ice and water dispenses slow

answer 1
At the recommended 20-125 psi water pressure, a 6 oz glass of water should dispense in about 10 seconds. If yours is slower than this, please check to make sure the water valve is turned on all the way and the lines are free of bends or kinks that could obstruct flow. Try bleeding air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water. If, after air is removed, the water is still coming out slow, try removing the filter temporarily. If water dispenses faster without the filter, then you may need to replace the filter cartridge with a new one. Though the filter usually needs to be replaced after about 6 months, it may need to be replaced sooner depending on usage and water purity.

Once you've checked the above, replaced the filter and bled the air from the lines, if necessary, try pressing the Test button on the icemaker to reset it. Some models require holding the button in for about 8 seconds in order to reset it. The ice tray should rotate to dump its contents into the bucket, then fill with water. If it doesn't fill, service may be necessary. If it does fill, make sure the freezer temperature is cold enough to make ice (below 0°F) but the fridge temperature is not so cold as to freeze the water lines. Samsung recommends setting the fridge at 38°F. Make sure the icemaker is turned on from the control panel.

If you continue to experience issues with the ice and water, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

I had the same problem, disassembled the refrigerator section, at the bottom of the evaporator is a drain section that is part of the actual cabinet which has developed cracks and needs to be replaced, but there are no part numbers for the refrigerator interior cabinet. no doubt this is a manufactures defect, also there are 6 holes and 1 square hole in cabinet back manufacture done most likely for universal fit, which i sealed with silicon sealer. On the gray duct to the right of evap. they were missing some sealer, I sealed that also as well as the cracks (4) under evap., make sure all moisture is dried up, let sealer dry before reassembly. (USE SILICON SEALER ONLY 100%). Also check drain to verify no blockage pure water down drain make sure it flows down quickly
Its been 2 days now with no more water.I am contacting Samsung for repair or replacement of unit interior cabinet.
