Questions & Answers for samsung RS267LBSH

Question

Why is my ice maker not making ice?

At times it makes ice like there is no tomorrow dropping ice about every 30 to 45 minutes. At other times it may go all day and drop ice once or twice or not at all.

It tends to slow or speed up production depending upon usage. If you're constantly dispensing ice, it speeds up the process; conversely, if you're not using ice, it will slow or stop so as not to overfill the bin.

Thank you for the question. Since the icemaker is effected by factors such as water pressure and temperature, which can fluctuate as a result of the door being opened and closed, items being loaded into the freezer after cooking or shopping, water demands by other household members or appliances, etc., it is not surprising that the time between cycles might vary somewhat. In addition, since the refrigerator's water storage tank holds approximately 1/3 gallon, if more cold water is dispensed at certain times of the day, the water temperature that is filling the ice tray can vary in temperature, as well. Under ideal conditions, a tray of ice should freeze every 60 to 90 minutes. To speed up the freezing process at slower times, I would suggest pressing the Power Freeze button on the control panel.

Interesting. I've got the same model, and the serial number is on the same tag as the model number, inside the fridge side on the left-side frame.

The serial number is located on the same tag as the model number, which can be found inside the refrigerator, on the left wall just inside the door. The serial number is in very small print immediately under the bar code.

I"m sorry to hear your refrigerator door is dented. There is a small amount of contour to the doors of the RS267LBSH. If you're looking for a replacement door, I would suggest you match your exact model number up to the parts availability information through SamsungParts.com or by calling 800-627-4368, since that particular model would likely not have interchangeable parts with those from more recent model years. If your refrigerator does include the "XAA" or other designation, you may need to include that in the parts finder request, as well, though this is not always necessary.

The displayed temperature on your RS267LBSH is designed to flash when the temperature inside the refrigerator is different from the set temperature. This is not unusual if the door has been open for an extended period of time, or if warmer food has been placed inside after cooking or grocery shopping, for example. If yours is blinking for an unknown reason, it may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

If the icemaker is not working after changing the filter, try bleeding air from the lines by dispensing as much as 5-6 gallons of water, then press the Test button on the side of the icemaker. If the tray does not fill with water, following are some other items that can be checked:
- Is the water connected, the valve turned on and hoses unkinked and free of obstruction?
- Is your home's water pressure between 20~125 psi? Under normal conditions, a 5.75 oz. glass can be filled in about 10 seconds.
- Is the refrigerator set at the recommended 38°F? If the refrigerator is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- Is the freezer temperature cold enough? Samsung recommends setting the freezer at -2°F.
- Is the icemaker turned on?
- Is the feeler arm under the icemaker stuck in the "up" position, which would signal to the icemaker that the bucket is full and to stop making ice.
- Is the control panel locked, which would prevent the dispenser from operating on some models?
- Is the water filter installed properly and locked in place?

If, after checking each of these suggestions, the icemaker still isn't functioning properly, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your RS267LBSH icemaker. Please try pressing the Test button on the side of the icemaker, which should cause the tray to rotate and dump the ice then fill with water for a new batch. Be sure there is a container under the tray to catch any water that spills. If the ice still won't release from the tray, your refrigerator may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. If the refrigerator is beeping when the door is closed, it's possible the sensor wires under the hinge covers are not connected properly. You can check the connection by removing the hinge covers as instructed in the user manual; the manual can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website.

If the wires are securely connected and the beeping persists, service may be needed to diagnose the cause. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Question

Main Board Version

My R267LBSH refrigerator calls for Main Poard DA41-00104Z. Samsungparts.com does not list that board. Is there an updated board I can get?

The refrigerator seems to not want to come out of defrost. It takes about two weeks before the freezer warms above freezing.

I replaced an open thermal fuse in the refrigerator section, but the problem returned again after two weeks running.

I am now thinking the main board is damaged or one of the temperature sensors. For expediency, I plan to replace all of these.

Thanks
Jay

If your refrigerator appears to be working but is not, it may be in "cooling off" mode. To cancel this feature, press the Power Freeze and Freeze buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until you hear a chime. The control panel should now allow you to set the temperature, and will begin to cool and adjust the temperature reading accordingly.

If this does not resolve the issue for you, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you further.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your RS267LBSH. Water under the vegetable drawers may be caused by excessive condensation, or it could be an indication of a leak in the water filter or lines. First, try wiping up the water, then try not to open the doors more than absolutely necessary for 24 hours. If the water returns, check the water filter to make sure it is installed properly, with indicator marks aligned. If this does not resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your RS267LBSH. If the control panel is not responding despite the unit cooling properly, it will likely require service. The blinking blue dashed line may be part of the diagnostic code that will help the service technician determine the cause and the cure of this issue, so I would suggest leaving it plugged in until a further diagnosis can be performed.
