Ours took about 24 hours to make a full bucket. It will vary though, depending on your water pressure. So I would wait another 24 hours before contacting customer service if I were you. I hope this helps.

It can take up to 36 hours to start making ice. Try lowering the freezer temperature. That is recommended if it doesn't start within the 1st 12 hours. I hope this helps.

Yes, there is a feeler arm that hangs under the icemaker and detects when the bin is full, signaling to the icemaker to stop making ice until some is removed.

Yes it will stop making ice when full, but it is recommended to turn it off when full. If you do leave it on though, it will start making ice again the second that you use some if it. I hope this helps.

The letters "OF" on the display of your RS265TDWP indicate the Cooling Off mode has been activated. To cancel this mode, press the Lighting and Freezer buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until a chime sounds and a numeric reading returns to the display, allowing you to set the desired temperature. The compressor should turn on in about 5 minutes and begin producing cold air.

Question

How do you hook up/intiallize the ice-maker on model #RS265TDWP?

We have now had 2 brand new sid-by-side fridges deliver to us in the last 2 weeks-the ice maker will not work. Do you have to run some sort of water line from the front of the fridge - we have connected a water line in the back and get water through the door- we have had the fridge for almost 2 days-no ice-Whats the problem?!

answer 1
Sorry to hear you're having an issue with your RS265TDWP. The water line on the back of the refrigerator should provide the water for the icemaker. If you have not done so already, be sure to dispense about 5-6 gallons of water to bleed air and flush the lines, then press the Test button on the side of the icemaker to reset it. This should cause the tray to rotate then fill with water. The temperature in the freezer needs to be cold enough to freeze the water to make ice, so it can take a day or two after installation for the ice production to become regular.

Other items to check include:
- Is the water connected, the valve turned on and hoses unkinked and free of obstruction?
- Is your home's water pressure between 20~125 psi? Under normal conditions, a 5.75 oz. glass can be filled in about 10 seconds.
- Is the refrigerator set at the recommended 38°F? If the refrigerator is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- Is the freezer temperature cold enough? Samsung recommends setting the freezer at -2°F.
- Is the icemaker turned on? Make sure the Ice Off icon is not illuminated on the display.
- Is the feeler arm under the icemaker stuck in the "up" position, which would signal to the icemaker that the bucket is full and to stop making ice.
- Is the control panel locked, which would prevent the dispenser from operating?
- Is the water filter installed properly and locked in place?

If, after checking each of these suggestions, the icemaker still isn't functioning properly and the filter is brand new, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with the Child Lock feature on your new refrigerator. Pressing and holding the Energy Saver button should be all that's needed to unlock the display. Question

How to Winterize my RS265TDWP/XAA?

I recently purchased a Samsung refrigerator: Model RS265TDWP/XAA. This product is being used in my summer home in the mountains. By November the first of each year, I close up my home and return to SW Florida for 6 months. During this period, there is NO heat in the house and temperatures drop as low as 17 degrees in the house. What is the recommended procedure for winterizing this product? Should I empty the refrigerator and set the temperatures to the warmest settings and leave it in a functioning state? Or should I pull the plug and leave the doors open? If I pull the plug, I would be sure to drain the water in the bladder. Any information regarding the proper procedure would be greatly appreciated. And, by the way, I love the product. Thanks!

Samsung doesn't recommend installing and operating the refrigerator where the temperature can drop below 50°F. If you do, please disconnect the power and water supply, remove the filter cartridge, clean out all contents, and bleed the water from the lines by pressing the dispenser lever until no more water comes out and press the Test button on the icemaker until no more water fills the tray. Prop the doors open to ensure sufficient air flow. Be sure the temperature has been above 50°F for more than 24 hours before reconnecting the power and water supply when you return.

Samsung does not have an official recommendation one way or another when it comes to the use of surge protectors. If you live in an area that is prone to power outages and surges, I would suggest contacting your local power company, appliance retailer or electrician for help determining if you would benefit from using a surge protector for your appliances. If you do, please be sure to select a surge protector that is rated appropriately for your RS265TDWP's electrical rating of 115V/60 Hz/11.6 amps.

There are several factors that can effect the ability of an icemaker to produce ice, including water supply, freezer and refrigerator temperatures, and control panel functions. Please check the following to try to resolve the issue:
- Did you bleed the air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water from the dispenser since installing or replacing the filter?
- Did you press the Test button on the icemaker to reset it?

If none of the above suggestions helps to resolve the issue, and the ice tray does not fill with water, try removing the water filter temporarily and press the test button on the icemaker again. If the tray fills without a filter installed, then the cartridge is likely clogged or partially clogged and should be replaced. The filter should be replaced about every 6 months based on average usage, but it could become clogged sooner if there are a lot of impurities in the water supply.

If, after checking each of these suggestions, the icemaker still isn't functioning properly, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you.
