There's only a few things it can be. The 2 that stand out the most to customers are the Ice Maker dumping Ice and Air passing through the lines with will make a popping sound. As long as the unit is still operating normally there is nothing to worry about.

The RS263TDBP will have LED lights, which some people do consider to have a "blue" appearance. Some other models will also offer the LED lighting, though I wouldn't speak so broadly as to make that claim for "all" models. Samsung is in the process of introducing the RS263 in the coming months, though I can't be more specific than that. I would suggest you continue to check availability using the "Where to Buy" tool on the product's home page to find a store near you that carries it, since this information is updated regularly. Thank you for your interest in the RS263!

If the icemaker in your RS263TDBP does not start producing ice automatically, you can reset it by pressing the test button located on the side of the icemaker, as shown on page 21 of the user manual. If this does not cause the tray to fill with water, please check the following:
- Is the icemaker turned on (make sure the Ice Off icon is not illuminated on the control panel)?
- Is the feeler arm that hangs down from the icemaker stuck in the "Up" position? If so, try lowering it.
- Is your water pressure at the recommended level? In order for the ice maker to operate properly, water pressure of 20~125 psi (pound per square inch) is required.
- Is the water valve turned on all the way?
- Are there any bends or kinks in the water line that could be obstructing water flow?
- Is the water filter installed correctly?
- Did you bleed air from the lines after installing or replacing the water filter by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water?
- Try removing the water filter temporarily and press the test button. If the tray fills, your filter was probably clogged or partially clogged and should be replaced.
- Are the freezer and refrigerator temperatures set at 3 bars? If the freezer is too warm, it may not be conducive to freezing the ice. If the fridge is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- If the tray fills with water, you can activate the Power Freeze function to speed up ice production by pressing the Freezer button for 3 seconds.

If, after checking the above and pressing the Test button, the tray still won't fill, or it fills, freezes, but will not harvest, your RS263 may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

If the temperature lights on the display of your RS263 appears to be "scrolling" or moving up and down, this indicates the Cooling Off mode has been activated. To cancel this mode, press the Lighting and Freezer buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until a chime sounds and the display returns to normal, allowing you to set the desired level. The compressor should turn on in about 5 minutes and begin producing cold air.

For further assistance, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Question

I cannot get ice to dispense through the door. Can you suggest something for me to check?

The icemaker is making ice. However, I cannot get it to dispense through the door. The water is dispensing fine. I am unable to select the ice, either cubed or crushed from the front door panel. I am able to select turning the ice make off function, though.

I am answering my own question. Apparently, the controls are more intuitive than I am. I figured out that by tapping the ice type control on the bottom of the panel selects the ice for dispensing. Tapping again, changes the type of ice, either cubed or crushed. Then to select back to water dispensing, tapping the water control on the bottom of the panel selects water. To go back to ice, then tap the ice type control on the bottom of the panel. This may be obvious to others but, I did not see it clearly spelled out in the manual or else I overlooked it on how to operate the selection between water and ice dispensing.

Thank you for the question. You're probably referring to the Filter Indicator Light which may appear pink in color, depending on where you are in the filter change cycle. When you first install or replace the filter and reset the indicator, it should appear blue; after about 5 months, the light should turn purple; when it turns red at about 6 months, it's time to change the filter cartridge again.

The letters "OF" on your display indicate the Cooling off Mode is activated. In this mode, the refrigerator may seem like it's working because the lights are on, but the compressor is turned off so it does not produce cold air. To cancel this mode, press the Lighting and Freezer buttons simultaneously for at least 3 seconds until a chime sounds. The compressor should turn on and start to cool the refrigerator and freezer right away.

Thank you for the question. It's not unusual for the refrigerator's internal temperature reading to vary from a thermometer's by up to +/- 4°F due to differences in calibration.

The temperature on your RS263 display is designed to flash to indicate the internal temperature is different from the set temperature. This is not unusual when the refrigerator is first installed or when the doors are open for an extended period, warm food has been placed inside, or the temperature setting has been changed. If the display is blinking for unknown reasons, however, and the temperature appears to be increasing, your refrigerator may require service. The replacement water filter for model RS263TDBP is #DA29-00020B, which is available for purchase through samsungparts.com or by calling 800-627-4368. The filters are designed to last approximately 6 months on average, but may last for a shorter period of time depending on amount of use.

I would suggest holding the glass close to the dispenser to help prevent ice from escaping the glass.
