If the supplied water pressure from your home is below the recommended 20-125psi, then a booster pump may help remedy the situation. To determine whether this is the case, first check the supply valve and hoses behind the refrigerator (valve should be on all the way and hoses unkinked and free of obstruction). Remove the water filter to make sure the filter is not what's causing the slow water flow. Try dispensing a glass of water from the door dispenser. At the recommended pressure, a 170 cc (5.75 oz.) cup can be filled in 10 seconds. If yours does not fill at this rate, then I would suggest consulting your local appliance, home improvement or hardware store to find a booster pump that will best meet your needs. Be sure to reinstall the filter, and consider replacing it with a new one if the flow rate is significantly different with and without the filter since the cartridge may be clogged or partially clogged. You will also need to bleed air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water after replacing the filter.

If you find that your supplied water pressure is adequate, the filter is not to blame, and your ice trays are still not filling properly, try pressing the reset button on the icemaker. If none of these suggestions help, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help you determine whether your RS261MDBP will require service.

To remove the sticky label from your RS261MDBP, I would suggest using a glass cleaner such as Windex first. If that doesn't work well enough, you could try WD40. Once the residue is removed, you will likely need to clean the entire surface of the refrigerator for a uniform appearance, since it may be possible to see the difference between those areas that have been cleaned and those that were not.

Question

Fridge and Freezer Problem

The refrigerator has power as well as the freezer. Lights come on inside, it dispenses water. The problem I am having is that the freezer and fridge suddenly stopped working(does not freeze food or keep food cool) and if you pay attention to the L.E.D display screen the cooling levels for the fridge and freezer constantly flash in descending order as opposed to when it was working the cooling levels would stay lit. What do i need to do to fix this problem? I have already tried unplugging and plugging it back in the socket, i waited 30 seconds and plugged it back in and tried this multiple times. Did i some how set the refrigerator to display mode like they are in the stores or is this an internal problem?

Scrolling lights on the temperature display of your RS261MDBP indicate the Cooling Off mode has been activated. To cancel this mode, press the Lighting and Freezer buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until a chime sounds and the display returns to normal, allowing you to set the desired temperature. The compressor should turn on in about 5 minutes and begin producing cold air.

At the recommended 20-125 psi water pressure, a 6 oz glass of water should dispense in about 10 seconds. If yours is slower than this, please check to make sure the water valve is turned on all the way and the lines are free of bends or kinks that could obstruct flow. Try bleeding air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water. If, after air is removed, the water is still coming out slow, try removing the filter temporarily. If water dispenses faster without the filter, then you may need to replace the filter cartridge with a new one. Though the filter usually needs to be replaced after about 6 months, it may need to be replaced sooner depending on usage and water purity.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your icemaker. There are several factors that can effect the ability of an icemaker to produce ice, including water supply, freezer and refrigerator temperatures, and control panel functions. Please check the following to try to resolve the issue:
- Is the water connected, the valve turned on and hoses unkinked and free of obstruction?
- Is your home's water pressure between 20~125 psi? Under normal conditions, a 5.75 oz. glass can be filled in about 10 seconds.
- Is the refrigerator temperature set at 3 bars as recommended? If the refrigerator is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- Is the freezer temperature cold enough? Samsung recommends setting the freezer at 3 bars, as well.
- Is the icemaker turned on? Make sure the Ice Off icon is not illuminated on the display.
- Is the feeler arm under the icemaker stuck in the "up" position, which would signal to the icemaker that the bucket is full and to stop making ice.
- Is the control panel locked, which would prevent the dispenser from operating?
- Is the water filter installed properly and locked in place?
- Did you bleed the air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water from the dispenser since installing or replacing the filter?
- Did you press the Test button on the icemaker to reset it?

If none of the above suggestions helps to resolve the issue, and the ice tray does not fill with water, try removing the water filter temporarily and press the test button on the icemaker again. If the tray fills without a filter installed, then the cartridge is likely clogged or partially clogged and should be replaced. The filter should be replaced about every 6 months based on average usage, but it could become clogged sooner if there are a lot of impurities in the water supply.

To empty the ice tray and drain the water, disconnect the water supply and press the water dispenser until no more water comes out, then press the Test button on the side of the icemaker which should cause the tray to rotate to dump its contents then fill with water again. If there is no more water in the lines, the tray should not fill.

Question

The dispenser for our ice machine is stuck in the ON position.

The only way to not have ice come out is by switching it to water mode. When you switch it back to ice, the lever does not have to be depressed as ice will keep coming out.

Why doesn't water dispense?

I hooked up my water line and flushed out about 6 minutes worth of water through the dispenser. Then a few hours later, I turned on the ice maker. The next morning I tried to dispense water and absolutely nothing comes out! Ice still dispenses and when I press the "Test" button, ice comes out, but not the water! What could be wrong?
