I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. If your RS261 is producing ice, but it is not dispensing, first check to make sure there is nothing blocking the opening from the icebucket to the chute, or within the chute itself. If not, please follow this link to additional troubleshooting suggestions: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

There is a step by step instruction on using the ice lever on the RS261 model linked at the bottom of the troubleshooting page. If, after following all of the suggestions described in the online troubleshooting section, you are still unable to dispenser ice through the door of your RS261, then your unit may require service. Please either submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you further.

Are you pushing back a little extra hard on the water/ice lever??? Water dispenses with just slight pressure, for ice you need to push harder and you will feel an extra click so to speak and then ice is dispensed.

I'm sorry to hear you're having these issues with your water and ice dispenser. There are several factors which could contribute to the problems you describe. I would suggest you visit the link below to open the Troubleshooting Guide for the RS261MDBP. Once the Guide is open, select Water And Ice, then navigate through the articles which address water flow and ice production.

RS261MDBP Troubleshooting Guide: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

The first items I would suggest you check include:
- Is your water pressure at the recommended level? In order for the ice maker to operate properly, a water pressure of 20~125 psi (pound per square inch) is required. Under normal conditions, a 170 cc (5.75 oz.) cup can be filled in 10 seconds.
- Is the water valve turned on all the way?
- Is the water filter installed correctly?
- Does removing the water filter allow water to flow faster? If this is the case, your water filter may be clogged and should be replaced.
- Is the icemaker turned on?
- Are the refrigerator and freezer temperatures at the recommended settings, 38°F and -2°F, respectively?
- Have you tried pressing the icemaker reset button?

The Troubleshooting Guide will help you with instructions to perform the above procedures and more. If the ice and water still won't operate properly after trying all of the suggestions in the Guide, then your refrigerator may require service. Please follow the links in the Guide to arrange for service if it is necessary.

As far as I know you cannot turn the door alarm off. It is a great feature because sometimes you have to push the refrigerator closed. If you did not close the door and did not realize it your food may not keep cold.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. The refrigerators will sometimes revert to demo mode if they've lost power due to a power outage or surge, but if this is recurring frequently then your RS261MDBP may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your new RS261MDBP ice dispenser. There are several factors that may cause the dispenser to fail to dispense ice. For example, if ice is not being made, or is made but not harvested, that has one set of troubleshooting tactics. If there's plenty of ice, but the dispenser is not dropping it through the chute and into your glass, that's a different issue.

To be sure you've tried all possible solutions (since I don't know which of the above scenarios you're dealing with), I would suggest opening the online Troubleshooting Guide through the following link, then select "Water And Ice" then "Ice" to navigate to a list of articles that may help you resolve this issue yourself: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If you need assistance, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help.

The red light on the control panel of your RS261MDBP is probably the water filter indicator light. When this light turns red, it means it's time to change the water filter. This typically occurs every 6 months, but it could be needed more frequently if your household uses a lot of water, or if the supplied water has a high content of minerals or impurities. A clogged water filter might also explain why the icemaker has stopped working, though there are other factors that can cause this, as well.

I would suggest reviewing the User Manual for instructions on changing the filter, as well as resetting the icemaker. Be sure the icemaker has not been turned off, and make sure you turn the water line back on (if you turn it off to replace the filter), there are no kinks or bends in the water line, and you dispense 5-6 gallons of water after changing the filter to bleed air from the line. The User Manual can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website for your convenience.

The replacement water filter for model RS261MDBP is part #DA29-00020B. For more information and availability, please visit SamsungParts.com or call 800-627-4368.

Thank you for the question. It is not unusual for the RS261 refrigerator to make some noise while dispensing water, then immediately following while the pump draws water through the lines to refill the holding tank. It may sound like it is "straining or running dry" but if the dispenser is working properly and dispensing water as needed, then it is probably not a reason for concern.

If the water flow to the dispenser is interrupted, there are a few troubleshooting tips to try, such as bleeding air from the lines or replacing the water filter. For more information, please refer to the user manual or the troubleshooting guide through the support page on this website.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your icemaker. There are a number of factors that can effect the ability of your icemaker to produce ice. Before calling for service, please check the following, referring to the User Manual as needed. The User Manual can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website for your convenience.

- Is your water pressure at the recommended level? In order for the ice maker to operate properly, a water pressure of 20~125 psi (pound per square inch) is required. Under normal conditions, a 170 cc (5.75 oz.) cup can be filled in 10 seconds.
- Is the water filter installed correctly?
- Did you bleed air from the lines since replacing or installing the water filter? Try dispensing 5-6 gallons of water to bleed air from the lines.
- Does removing the water filter allow the ice tray to fill? If this is the case, your water filter may be clogged and should be replaced.
- Is the icemaker turned on?
- Are the refrigerator and freezer temperatures at the recommended settings, 38°F and -2°F, respectively?
- Is the icebucket pushed in all the way?
- Is the icemaker feeler arm stuck in the "up" position?
- Have you tried pressing the icemaker reset button, as shown on page 28 of the User Manual?

If all of the above conditions have been met and your icemaker still is not producing ice, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Question

How do I prevent the refrigerator from going into store mode after power outage?

After the power blinks, the refrigerator goes into Store Mode - everything in the freezer thaws and the floor is flooded with water. You have to hold buttons on the front of the device to restart it. Is there any way to fix this problem?

I'm sorry to hear you've had this issue. In most cases, Samsung refrigerators should return to the previous settings when power returns. However, errors can occur as a result of outages and the surges that can accompany them. The best way to avoid this happening is to consult with your power company or an electrician on how to protect your home from power failures. If you do experience an outage, be sure to check the refrigerator when power returns to ensure it's functioning properly.

Your RS261 should make approximately 3.8 lbs of ice per day under ideal conditions. There are a number of factors that can effect the rate of ice production, such as temperature and water pressure. Following are some tips for helping to speed up production:

- Did you try pressing the Test button on the side of the icemaker? (See the User Manual for instructions.)
- Is the icemaker turned on (make sure the Ice Off icon is not illuminated on the control panel)?
- Is the feeler arm that hangs down from the icemaker stuck in the "Up" position? If so, try lowering it.
- Is your water pressure at the recommended level? In order for the ice maker to operate properly, water pressure of 20~125 psi (pound per square inch) is required.
- Is the water valve turned on all the way?
- Are there any bends or kinks in the water line that could be obstructing water flow?
- Is the water filter installed correctly?
- Did you bleed air from the lines after installing or replacing the water filter by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water?
- Are the freezer and refrigerator temperatures set at 3 bars? If the freezer is too warm, it may not be conducive to freezing the ice. If the fridge is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- Activating the Power Freeze function can help speed up ice production.

Question

A beep every couple minutes. What is this for?

We have had this refridgerator for 2 months, and all the sudden we are getting beeping. Is this what happens when it is time to replace the filter? How long do the filters last?

Thank you for the question. When it's time to replace the filter, after approximately 6 months or less depending on your water use, the filter indicator light on the control panel will turn red.

The beeping is likely the result of the doors being left open or not sealing properly. If the doors are fully closed and the door alarm is still sounding, it's possible the wiring under the hinge cover of the freezer door is not connected properly. Please refer to step 1 of the door removal instructions on page 13 of the User Manual for an illustration of the location of the wires. If the alarm continues to sound after checking the connection, your refrigerator may require service. Question

Ice Maker

Ok
I post a question a few min ago about having problems with my Water/Ice Maker. Disreguard the last question. I got it to work, but my real problem is with the ice maker tray. It make Ice, but doesn't turn the ice over in the Ice basket to make room for new Ice. The same Ice thats been froozen would sit in the Ice tray all day.
My Ice tray is not full because I just ran the line for the Ice maker, so they weren't any Ice in the basket.
How do I get the Ice Tray to empty out the Ice into the Ice Basket?

Thanks for the follow up question. The ice tray should automatically dump the ice into the bucket at the end of each cycle. If it does not, then first try resetting the icemaker by pressing the reset button as described on page 19 of the User Manual which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website. If this does not resolve the issue, then your refrigerator may require service.
