Question

Should the dispensed water be chilled?

The water coming out of my dispenser is room temperature. I thought there was a reservoir in the refrigerator to chill it. Is that not the case?

Question

Ice on the back wall behind the ice maker

There appears to be ice on the near on of the holes where the ice maker is. The fan was also making a louder than normal noise. I turned the freezer down to see if this helps, just wondering if having it set to high could cause this issue.

Question

Can you change the volume of the tone/alarm?

Hello,

We've recently purchased the RS261MDPN side-by-side refrigerator. So far, we love the thing! However, I'd like to increase the volume of the console tone and the door alarm since it is quite soft and is hardly heard when the kids are around. How can I increase its volume?

Thank you,

Question

Front control panel does not respond to anything when buttons are pushed.

Just had this installed July 15. Ice maker making loud buzzing noise at times, like a loud alarm. Buttons on control panel do not light up or respond when pushing them as manual says. Ice maker is not hooked up as we do not want to use that feature, but acts like it wants to work.

Question

Why is the water coming from the water dispenser not cold?

The water from the water dispenser has not been cold since we first hooked up the refrigerator. We had another refrigerator before this one and the water was cold. We connected it using the same line as our old one and the water is not cold.

Question

Where is the Serial Number located?

I have found a couple answers but none seem to be correct for my fridge (they all say it should be between the barcode and the Model). The sticker on the left side of my fridge has the following info along the left side and a vertical barcode along the right:

Model: RS261MDWP
Power: 115V/60Hz
Compressor: MK172DR2U/SM2
Model Code: RS261MDWP/XAA
Control NO(NOT S/N): JJ67**BC803882

Question

Why is there frost on ice path of dispense inside freezer door and on ice bucket?

This is on a brand new fridge, I've checked that the gasket on the freezer door and it looks fine. I've checked the flap on the ice dispenser in the door and it looks like it's flush, no debris there. Not sure why, but I'm getting frost around both openings.

Why is there frost on/in the opening between the ice maker and the water/ice dispenser?

This fridge has been plugged in for 1 and 1/2 days. It was installed by Lowes deliverers. If this frost is a problem, should I be having problems already? I did purchase extended warranty on this product.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

According to our resident home appliance specialist, this unit automatically defrosts. He indicates that if ice/frost is building up on the freezer walls, warm air is getting into the unit. He recommends you review the following support article to make sure air is not coming in via the ice chute.

http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=411551&modelname=RS261MDRS

Also, warm air can get into the freezer if the door is propped open for extended periods.
