I haven't changed my water filter yet, but I was wondering if the fish smell in the ice could be fixed by just changing the water filter? I emptied out the ice bucket 3 times, but the new ice still smells like fish. The water that comes out in the front next to the ice output doesn't smell like fish, so I am assuming something is fishy with the ice maker and not the water filter itself but I could be wrong. Anybody know what I can do?

I dont now if it could be the smell from the stuff in the freezer but I never had this problem until recently. Should I remove all the stuff in the freezer and see if the smell disappears?

The freezer light cover is designed to be held in place by a screw. If there's no screw holding yours in place, then it may need to be pried out carefully using a flathead screwdriver. However, keep in mind that if you try to pry it out and there is, in fact, a screw preventing it from being removed, the cover may break. It's not unusual for ice cubes to break into pieces occasionally when they fall into the bucket, especially when the bucket is empty. However, if the freezer temperature is set too cold this is more likely to occur. Please try raising the temperature to between -2°F and -4°F, if it is currently set lower than this. the digital screen on the front of the freezer isnt working. it there a reset to bring it back to factory settings?

the refrigerator was purchased in 2005 and it has been in storage for about one year. When we moved it into our new house the screen now has incorrect temperature numbers on the digital screen on the outside of the freezer. it flickers back and forth between 99 and 88 on both refrigerator and freezer readings. both sides are keeping correct temps inside, its just the screen that is malfunctioning. any suggestions on how to reset it?

Thank you for the questions. To adjust the temperature on your RS257BARB, press the Freezer or Fridge buttons repeatedly until the desired temperature is displayed. If the buttons do not respond when you press them, make sure the Child Lock has not been engaged, which would be indicated by the padlock icon on the control panel being illuminated. To activate or deactivate the Child Lock, press the Power Cool and Fridge buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds.

fridge defroster does not appear to be working colis are frozen ,

rs257barb the coils on the fridge side were frozen over and the fridge would not cool where can i find wireing diagrams so i can trouble shoot the defroster ckt? your web site is not geared to tech s this is my fridge.
