I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with the icemaker. There are a variety of factors that can effect the ability of the icemaker to produce ice. Please check the following, referring to the User Manual as needed. The User Manual can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website for your convenience.

- Is your supplied water pressure at least 20 psi?
- Is the water valve turned on all the way?
- Are there any bends or kinks in the water line that could be obstructing water flow?
- Is the water filter installed correctly and did you bleed air from the line?
- Does removing the water filter allow water to flow faster? If this is the case, your water filter may be clogged and should be replaced.
- Is the icemaker turned on, and is either cubed or crushed ice selected?
- Is the freezer temperature set no higher than -2°F?
- Is the icebucket pushed in all the way?
- Is the icemaker feeler arm stuck in the "up" position?
- Have you tried pressing the icemaker reset button?

If all of the above conditions have been met and your icemaker still is not producing ice, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your RS2545SH water dispenser. Since your icemaker is working fine, we know the water supply is sufficient. I would suggest raising the temperature of the refrigerator to the recommended 38°F if it is set lower than that. If the temperature is set too low the water lines may freeze. You should also check the water connection to the door, which runs under the front leg cover. Please refer to page 23 of the user manual; it can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website.

If the problem persists after trying the above suggestions, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you in scheduling service if necessary.

I'm sorry to hear your icemaker hasn't worked in so long. There are a number of factors that fan effect an icemaker's ability to function properly. I would suggest starting by checking the following items:
- Is the icemaker turned on? Check the control panel for an "ice off" option.
- Is the icemaker getting water? Is the water valve on, and are the lines free of bends or kinks that could obstruct the flow?
- Is there a filter cartridge installed? If so, is it free of clogs, or does it need to be changed?
- Try pressing the test button that is usually located on the side of the icemaker. Does the tray rotate and fill with water? If it does not rotate, it will require service. If it rotates but does not fill with water, there could be air in the lines or the filter may be clogged.
- If the tray fills with water, make sure the temperature in the freezer is cold enough to freeze it. Samsung recommends setting the freezer temperature at -2°F to -4°F. If you have the Power Freeze option on your control panel, try pressing it. This will turn the compressor on for an extended period to speed the freezing process. The tray of ice should freeze within an hour or two, depending on how often you open the freezer door, and other factors that can effect the freezer temperature.

If your icemaker still won't make ice, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Question

My Samsung Ref. Model# RS2545SH has started building up ice behind the chill bin and there is also some styrofoam back there.

It has actually pushed out the plastic that is screwed to the back of the fridge and cracked it a little. Also is pushing out the chill drawer so that my fridge isn't closing all the way. I don't have any water hooked up for ice or anything and I tried raising the temp in the fridge to 46 but the ice didn't melt. I tried chipping the ice I could see, but it is hard to get to. I don't want to unplug it and lose all my food. Any suggestions? I amk disabled and live on a very fixed income and would appreciate help if I casn avoid a service call.

I'm so sorry to hear you're having this issue with your RS2545SH. Unfortunately, it's likely that it does require service based on your description. First, please make sure the vents in the back of the refrigerator are not blocked and have sufficient air flow. If this does not help to resolve the issue, I would suggest calling 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help you determine your service options and find a technician in your area.

Question

My Samsung Ref. Model# RS2545SH has started building up ice behind the chill bin.

I have the exact same issue as the last question asked. The ice pushed out the plastic cover that is screwed to the back of the fridge and cracked it. This is probably the reason why I am hearing a popping noise as the plastic is being pushed out and cracked. Also it is pushing out the chill drawer so the fridge door isn't closing all the way. I don't have any water hooked up for ice. I turned off the refrigerator for 24 hours, but if there is ice behind the plastic cover, why didn't it melt. I vacuumed out the air vent in back already. The plastic cover is still protruding about 1 inch. Is there an inherent flaw with this model. If it is ice, where is the water coming from?

My side by side refridgerator has stopped freezing and the temperature on the display panel for the freezer blinks when I try to reset it.

The power freeze does not make it work either. The model # is RS 2525SH. The fridge part seems to be working fine. Is there anything I can do before I call a service person? Do you have any service technicians in the N. Charleston/Summerville area of S. Carolina.

Question

When depressing the ice reset button on the RS2545SH model, should I expect an immediate reaction from the ice maker?

My ice maker has stopped working, and it has been suggested that I try the ice maker "reset" button. I located the button and pressed firmly, but nothing seems to have immediately happened... is this normal?? If so, what should I now expect, and more importantly, what should I next try if this does not get my ice maker to restart. Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear your RS2545SH has stopped producing ice. Please make sure the icemaker is turned on by pressing the Ice Type button to select either cubed or crushed ice; it may be necessary to turn the Child Lock off in order to do this. Some models require the Test button be pressed for 8 seconds in order to reset the icemaker, so I would suggest pressing it for that period of time. This should cause it to rotate then fill with water; please refer to page 28 of the user manual for information regarding the correct water level. Following are some additional troubleshooting tips that may help:
- The recommended temperatures for the refrigerator and freezer compartments are 38°F and -2°F, respectively. If the freezer temperature is set higher than this, it could effect ice production. If the refrigerator is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- Is something pressing against the lever that detects when the ice bin is full? The icemaker will not produce ice if it detects a full bin.
- Have you replaced your water filter recently? A clogged or partially clogged filter can slow water flow and effect ice production. After replacing the filter, be sure to dispense up to 6 gallons of water to bleed air from the lines.
- Is your home's water pressure sufficient? In order for the ice maker to operate properly, water pressure of 20~125 psi is required. Under normal conditions, a 6 oz glass can be filled in about 10 seconds. If the Refrigerator is installed in an area with low water pressure (below 20psi), you may be able to install a booster pump to compensate for the low pressure.

If none of these suggestions help to resolve the issue, your refrigerator may require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for the question. It is not unusual to have a small amount of condensation in the refrigerator due to Samsung's Twin Cooling system, but if water is accumulating quickly and in amounts that are leaking out of the fridge, then your RS2545SH may require service. Please try removing the bottom drawer and wiping up the water, then replace the drawer, close the door and wait 24 hours, opening the door as little as possible. If a significant amount of water returns by the next day, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.
