Question

What is wrong with my refridgerator?

It's an RS2534WW. About 2 weeks ago the display light for the fridge was blinking 45, & everything inside was warm. Then stopped blinking but stayed 45, but water bottles inside were cool. About 5 days later it suddenly started displaying 34, the temp it's always been set to, water was cold. No problem with the freezer side. Then about 4 days ago, both sides were blinking fridge side was warm @ 57 and freezer side 60, everything was defrosted. Next day Freezer was working but displaying up to -19 to 6...6 is the set temp, and still is, but the fridge side is cool, not cold, but displaying between 55 and 62. Since the begining, we've unplugged it for couple hours multiple times, cleaned the coils, what could the problem be? We also noticed little puddles of water under the freezer door, months before it all started. We moved to a new place and have never rehooked up the water supply. That part hasn't been used in years.

If the door to your freezer was left open, it may take some time for the actual temperature to reach the set temperature. However, if you're unable to set the temperature (i.e., the control panel is not responding) and the Child Lock is not engaged, your refrigerator may require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with the icemaker on your RS2534VQ. Please make sure the icemaker has not been turned off by pressing the Ice Type button to select either cubed or crushed ice. If you recently replaced the water filter, be sure to bleed the air from the lines by dispensing several gallons of water. If the icemaker is not turned off and the ice tray still won't fill when the test button is pressed, but the water supply to your door dispenser is flowing evenly, your refrigerator may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Pressing the Fridge Temp button repeatedly on your RS2534 should allow you to scroll through the various temperature settings ranging from 34°F to 46°F. Once your preferred temperature is displayed, the cooling system should turn on or off as necessary to adjust the internal temperature until it reaches the set temperature.

If yours is not functioning in this manner, it may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

There are several factors that can effect the ability of an icemaker to produce ice, including water supply, freezer and refrigerator temperatures, and control panel functions. Please check the following to try to resolve the issue:
- Is your home's water pressure between 20~125 psi? Under normal conditions, a 5.75 oz. glass can be filled in about 10 seconds.
- Is the refrigerator set at the recommended 38°F? If the refrigerator is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- Is the icemaker turned on? Make sure the Ice Off icon is not illuminated on the display.
- Is the feeler arm under the icemaker stuck in the "up" position, which would signal to the icemaker that the bucket is full and to stop making ice.
- Is the water filter installed properly and locked in place?
- Did you bleed the air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water from the dispenser since installing or replacing the filter?
- Did you press the Test button on the icemaker to reset it?

If none of the above suggestions helps to resolve the issue, and the ice tray does not fill with water, try removing the water filter temporarily and press the test button on the icemaker again. If the tray fills without a filter installed, then the cartridge is likely clogged or partially clogged and should be replaced. The filter should be replaced about every 6 months based on average usage, but it could become clogged sooner if there are a lot of impurities in the water supply.

If, after checking each of these suggestions, the icemaker still isn't functioning properly, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you.
