Stand if front of fridge, open big door, look down to the lower right side. You will see a little rectangular knob. That's it.
Have not changed it yet but was wonderin if you need to turn off the water supply to fridge before removing filter. Page 30 of guide does not say if you should or should not shut off water. Could be a heck of a mess if water come spraying out.

Question

Loud compressor noise

Our Side-By-Side fridge has begun making a slight motor noise and that seems to shut off. It is coming from the lower back area of the unit where I imagine the compressor or motor may be. This noise is usually light but tonight it was loud and but shut off after about 3-5 minutes. We have not heard it since but I am concerned that there may be something wrong.

Question

How come my refrigerator is over heating?

At first it started to make noise so I opened up the back of it and the cooling fan was making the noise so then I sprayed some WD 40 on it and it went away. Now the sides of the doors and the face of the wall in the middle are warm to the touch but it still works. The model is RS2530BBP purchased around a year ago.

There are several factors that can cause ice production to slow down. To help speed up production, please try the following:
- Make sure the temperature of the freezer is set below 0°F; Samsung recommends -2°F.
- Make sure the water pressure is at the recommended 20~125 psi, the valve is open fully, and the lines are not bent or kinked.
- Make sure the icemaker is turned on.
- Press the Test/Reset button on the icemaker.
- Use the Power Freeze option on the control panel to help speed up icemaking as needed.

I'm sorry to hear you're having these issues. Please check for items that could be blocking the vents in the back of the refrigerator preventing air flow, and try adjusting the temperature (Samsung recommends setting the refrigerator temperature to 38°F). Remove the ice that has built up using a towel or cloth. If the ice returns, your refrigerator will likely require service.

The rattling may be caused by loose hardware in the hinges or the refrigerator may benefit from being leveled by raising or lowering the leveling legs, as needed. For more information, please refer to the User Manual which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website.

For additional assistance or to schedule service, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak to an agent.

I'm sorry to hear your RS2530BBP has stopped making ice. Please check the following:
- Is the icemaker turned off (the ice off icon would be illuminated on the display)? Press the Ice Type button on the control panel to turn the icemaker back on.
- Press the test/reset button if the ice tray is not filling with water.
- Is the freezer cold enough? The recommended temperature is -2°F to -4°F.
- Is the water supply valve turned on and is the water pressure at the appropriate 20-125 psi of pressure?
- Are there any bends or kinks in the water line that could be obstructing water flow?
- Is the filter clogged? Try replacing the filter.

If all of the above check out but the icemaker still isn't producing ice, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

If your fridge and freezer are not cooling despite the refrigerator being plugged into a working power outlet, then it may be in "demo" mode. If demo mode is activated, there will be a "circle bar" cooling system icon on the control panel. To deactivate this mode, press and hold the Power Freeze and Freeze buttons simultaneously for at least 3 seconds until a soft chime sounds and the "circle bar" icon is no longer illuminated. The compressor should turn on in about 5 minutes.

If this does not resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your RS2530BBP. Please check to make sure the power is working properly and the refrigerator has not been placed in "cooling off" mode, in which case there would be a "circle bar" type icon illuminated on the control panel indicating the cooling system is off. To turn the cooling system back on, press and hold the Power Freeze and Freeze buttons simultaneously for at least 3 seconds, until the icon is no longer illuminated and a chime sounds. The compressor should turn on and start making cold air again in about 5 minutes. If it does not, your refrigerator may require service. Thanks for the question. If the freezer fan appears louder than before, try moving the RS2530 slightly and check to see that the refrigerator is level. Noises in a refrigerator can often be minimized by proper leveling.

Using the ice and water without the filter in the refrigerator or a back up filtration system in your home can damage the lines over time due to mineral deposits and debris. This may not be related to the noise you're hearing, but I would recommend installing a new filter cartridge right away.

If problems develop with the water dispenser and icemaker, or if the sound the refrigerator makes continues to concern you, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your RS2530 icemaker. Please check that the icemaking function is turned on (check the control panel), and that the feeler arm that hangs down from the icemaker to detect whether the storage container is full is not stuck in the "up" position. If neither of these considerations help to resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help determine whether service will be necessary.
