Stand if front of fridge, open big door, look down to the lower right side. You will see a little rectangular knob. That's it.
Have not changed it yet but was wonderin if you need to turn off the water supply to fridge before removing filter. Page 30 of guide does not say if you should or should not shut off water. Could be a heck of a mess if water come spraying out.

Question

How come my refrigerator is over heating?

At first it started to make noise so I opened up the back of it and the cooling fan was making the noise so then I sprayed some WD 40 on it and it went away. Now the sides of the doors and the face of the wall in the middle are warm to the touch but it still works. The model is RS2530BBP purchased around a year ago.

There are several factors that can cause ice production to slow down. To help speed up production, please try the following:
- Make sure the temperature of the freezer is set below 0°F; Samsung recommends -2°F.
- Make sure the water pressure is at the recommended 20~125 psi, the valve is open fully, and the lines are not bent or kinked.
- Make sure the icemaker is turned on.
- Press the Test/Reset button on the icemaker.
- Use the Power Freeze option on the control panel to help speed up icemaking as needed.

Question

samsung side by side rs2530bbp water running through dispenser without filter.

my side by side is is running like a charm...even the water runs out the dispenser and also into the ice tray just fine. but when i went to install my first filter i did as the instructions said. removed the plastic cover by turning it clockwise.. taking off the red cap to the filter... lining up the marks on the filter to the adapter. but the problem is the marks don't line up at all no matter what way i twist, or seat the filter in there
it acts like it locks but no water goes into the filter. my question is the manual says water should not flow with out a filter attached. a) how is it still dispensing water. b) why don't the markings line up correctly at all. i'm using the correct filters. have triple checked them filter numbers (da29-00003b & da29-00003g). any suggestions would be great.

Thank you for the question. You're correct that the filter indicator marks should line up, but if you've installed the cartridge as instructed and the icemaker and water dispenser are working, then it should be fine. I'm unclear from your question why you think the water is not running into the filter. I would suggest bleeding air from the lines by dispensing as much as 5-6 gallons of water to ensure the dispenser and icemaker can function properly. If this does not help to alleviate your concerns, please feel free to resubmit the question with more information, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear your RS2530BBP has stopped making ice. There are a number of factors that can effect the ability of the icemaker to produce ice, and a clogged filter is certainly one of them. Please check each of the following factors:

- Did you try pressing the Test button on the side of the icemaker to reset it? This should cause the tray to rotate to dump ice then fill with water.
- Is the icemaker turned on (make sure the Ice Off icon is not illuminated on the control panel)?
- Is the feeler arm that hangs down from the icemaker stuck in the "Up" position? If so, try lowering it. If it will not move when you try gently to move it, it may require service.
- Is your water pressure at the recommended level? In order for the ice maker to operate properly, water pressure of 20~125 psi (pound per square inch) is required. A 6 ounce glass of water should fill in about 10 seconds at this pressure.
- Is the water valve turned on all the way?
- Are there any bends or kinks in the water line that could be obstructing water flow?
- Are the freezer and refrigerator temperatures set at 3 bars? If the freezer is too warm, it may not be conducive to freezing the ice. If the fridge is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- Is the water filter installed correctly?
- Did you bleed air from the lines after installing or replacing the water filter by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water?
- Try removing the water filter temporarily and press the test button. If the tray fills, your filter was probably clogged or partially clogged and should be replaced. Be sure to dispenser 5-6 gallons again after replacing it.

If, after checking the above and pressing the Test button, the tray still won't fill, or it fills, freezes, but will not harvest, your RS2530 may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

If the RS2530BBP has stopped making ice, please check the following:
- Is the feeler arm under the icemaker stuck in the 'up' position, which would signal to the icemaker that the bin is full and to stop making ice?
- Is the bucket fully inserted and locked in place?
- Is the Ice Off icon illuminated, or the Child Lock engaged, on the control panel?
- Try removing the bucket and pressing the Test button on the side of the icemaker, which should cause the tray to rotate and fill with water. If it does not, please also check the water valve to make sure it's turned on fully, and check the lines for bends or kinks.
- Is the filter installed properly, or could it be clogged? Try removing the filter temporarily and press the Test button again. If the tray fills with water without the filter installed, then it may need to be replaced with a new one.

If these suggestions do not help to resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

The RS2530BBP has a self-defrosting feature which should prevent frost from building up in the freezer. While a small amount can be normal if the freezer door is opened frequently and in very warm, humid environments, excessive frost can be caused by either the door not closing properly or by inadequate ventilation. Please click on the following troubleshooting link, then click on Operation > Freezer > Frost in the Freezer: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your RS2530BBP. If the refrigerator is working but the freezer is not, your unit will require service. If neither the freezer nor the refrigerator are cooling and there is an icon on the display that looks like the "Twin X" air flow symbol with a circle and line through it, this indicates the "cooling off" mode has been activated. To deactivate cooling off and restart the compressor, press the Power Freeze and Freezer buttons simultaneously for several seconds until the cooling off icon disappears.

If this does not resolve the issue, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.
