Stand if front of fridge, open big door, look down to the lower right side. You will see a little rectangular knob. That's it.
Have not changed it yet but was wonderin if you need to turn off the water supply to fridge before removing filter. Page 30 of guide does not say if you should or should not shut off water. Could be a heck of a mess if water come spraying out.

Question

How come my refrigerator is over heating?

At first it started to make noise so I opened up the back of it and the cooling fan was making the noise so then I sprayed some WD 40 on it and it went away. Now the sides of the doors and the face of the wall in the middle are warm to the touch but it still works. The model is RS2530BBP purchased around a year ago.

I'm sorry to hear your RS2530BBP has stopped making ice. Please check the following:
- Is the icemaker turned off (the ice off icon would be illuminated on the display)? Press the Ice Type button on the control panel to turn the icemaker back on.
- Press the test/reset button if the ice tray is not filling with water.
- Is the freezer cold enough? The recommended temperature is -2°F to -4°F.
- Is the water supply valve turned on and is the water pressure at the appropriate 20-125 psi of pressure?
- Are there any bends or kinks in the water line that could be obstructing water flow?
- Is the filter clogged? Try replacing the filter.

If all of the above check out but the icemaker still isn't producing ice, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

If your fridge and freezer are not cooling despite the refrigerator being plugged into a working power outlet, then it may be in "demo" mode. If demo mode is activated, there will be a "circle bar" cooling system icon on the control panel. To deactivate this mode, press and hold the Power Freeze and Freeze buttons simultaneously for at least 3 seconds until a soft chime sounds and the "circle bar" icon is no longer illuminated. The compressor should turn on in about 5 minutes.

If this does not resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Question

Loud compressor noise

Our Side-By-Side fridge has begun making a slight motor noise and that seems to shut off. It is coming from the lower back area of the unit where I imagine the compressor or motor may be. This noise is usually light but tonight it was loud and but shut off after about 3-5 minutes. We have not heard it since but I am concerned that there may be something wrong.

I'm sorry to hear you're having a problem with the temperature in your RS2530. Please make sure the refrigerator is plugged into a working power supply, then try increasing the number of bars that the fridge and freezer are set on by pressing the Fridge and Freeze temperature buttons on the control panel, or if the maximum number of bars are already illuminated, try activating the Power Freeze feature by pressing that button. If the lights are working but the compressor is not making cold air, check the display for a "cooling off" icon which looks like a circle with a bar through it. If this icon is displayed, press the Power Freeze and Freeze buttons simultaneously for several seconds until the icon turns off. You should hear a chime sound, then the compressor should turn on shortly and begin making cold air.

If the "cooling off" icon was not displayed and increasing the number of temperature bars displayed or activating Power Freeze did not cause the compressor to make cold air, your RS2530 may require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.
