Question

Sheet Ice forming in the space between bottom freezer and shell

Model RFG298HDRS/XAA bought from Lowe's. Half-inch thick sheet ice is forming at the bottom of the fridge shell in the space below the pull-out bottom freezer. Eventually it prevents the bottom freezer from being pulled out or pushed in. Icemaker in bottom freezer has been turned off. Bottom freezer door cannot be removed from the fridge (diagram in the manual doesn't match actual mechanism.

Unplugged fridge two weeks ago, emptied all food and allowed to thaw. Major puddle on kitchen floor from all the ice meliting. Noticed that ice is forming AGAIN!!!

What do I do?

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We suggest you check the door seal to make sure the bottom freezer door is closing all the way. If you're able to confirm there is nothing keeping the door from closing properly, you will need to file a service request to have the issue inspected by an authorized service technician.

Question

When I change the temperature on the Touch Panel, it seems to show the setting and then the actual temperature. It this correct?

Is there a way to lock in your settings besides using the child lock? I would like to lock the panel, but still be able to get ice and water through the door.

Question

How do you thaw the water line to the lower icemaker?

I had a service repair call to my home to correct the problem of my lower icemaker not producing ice. He informed me that the line was frozen and proceeded to defrost it. I should have paid more attention on how he accomplished this task as the line has frozen again (within 2 weeks of the repair man coming out to my home). I would like to get the second icemaker working as we use lots of ice in my home and it doe not make sense to me to have the option and not have it in working order.

Can anyone please tell me how i would access the water line in the lower ice maker? I know the repair man was able to and defrosted the line is a cup of warm water. Start to finish the repair took only 15 min, but as I can not find a diagram on how to access the water line I am hoping to get that information and avoid wasting the repair company's time.

Question

RFG298HDRS Vertical Hinged Section does not line up with top

When the left door closes, the tab at the top of the vertical hinged section does not line up into the track at the top of the frig, so the section does not swing to be parallel with the doors when closed. It appears to need to be shift up about 1/8 to 1/4 inch. How do I correct this? The manual says the left door is in a fixed position.

Question

Lower ice maker water line frozen

The lower ice maker stopped making ice and after extensive investigation I discovered there was a small plug of ice at the end of the water line (inside the silicon boot) where it fills the tray. I couldn't find any instructions or advice on the best way to correct the problem. What is the recommende way to thaw the water line and what are the possible causes? My refrigerator is set to 36 and freezer to -2. Could air in the line cause this to happen?
Thanks

Question

Why is the top ice maker so loud when ice is released?

It appears the ice cubes are being propelled into the side of the ice maker and not down into the ice tray. The sound is very loud and can be heard from any part of the house. Plus, my dogs go crazy every time this happens. Is there anything that can be done?
