Turning off the Energy Saver feature will turn on a heater in the strip between the doors and help to evaporate the condensation. If you live in a warm, humid climate, you may find it helpful to turn the Energy Saver off during the summer months, but on during the winter when it is dry and condensation is less likely to occur.

Samsung refrigerators are designed to lean back slightly to help the doors close more easily but the interior of the unit should be level. You can check that by placing a level inside of the refrigerator. The front legs can be adjusted to help level the refrigerator, if necessary, but it should not be adjusted more than the leveling legs will allow. There is no adjustment for the rear of the refrigerator.

The RFG298HD is designed to turn back on automatically when power is restored; however, power outages are sometimes accompanied by surges that can damage the refrigerator and prevent it from performing properly. I would suggest contacting an electrician for advice on protecting your home from power surges.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with the deli drawer in your RFG298. If the drawer is slipping off the track, it's possible the refrigerator is not leveled properly causing the tracks to be misaligned, or perhaps there is a part missing. I would suggest checking the left-to-right alignment first using a carpenter's level. If the bubble is not perfectly centered, adjust the front leveling legs as needed. If the drawer continues to slip, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Question

Is this refridgerator's fan suppose to run continiously?

Had it installed yesterday, installers set it up and turned it on. Followed the directions that came with the unit about the temperature controlls and ice makers. It seems that the internal circulating fan runs all the time. Just want to know if it's normal and should I hear it running in the living room?

The cooling system in the RFG298 is designed to run as long as it needs to in order to cool the refrigerator and freezer to the desired settings. When first installed, it can take as long as 24 hours to reach the set temperature. Depending on the temperature settings, the room temperature and other factors, it's not unusual for the compressor to cycle on and off frequently. Please note that the fans themselves should turn off when the door is opened. It may help to reduce the volume of the sound by making sure the refrigerator is securely leveled.

Thanks for the question. It's normal for a small amount of crushed ice to dispense when cubed is selected, particularly if crushed had been selected previously. However, if your RFG298HDRS is dispensing only crushed ice, please click on the following link then select "Troubleshooting ► > Water And Ice ► > Ice ► > Ice Maker Is Dispensing The Wrong Type Of Ice" for troubleshooting assistance: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. If ice is forming under the Cool Select Pantry Drawer, it's possible that your refrigerator temperature is set either too high or too low. Please adjust the temperature to 38°F, if necessary. The water that is freezing may be the result of condensation or it could be an indication of a leak that would require service to repair. Try wiping up the water and waiting 24 hours. If water has accumulated there again by the next day, your refrigerator will likely require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

The letters "OF" on the display of your RFG298HDRS indicate the Cooling Off mode has been activated. To cancel this mode, press the Energy Saver and Freezer buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until a chime sounds and a numeric reading returns to the display, allowing you to set the desired temperature. The compressor should turn on in about 5 minutes and begin producing cold air.
