Water filter model #DA29-00003B, and the newer #DA29-00003G version, both of which are compatible with the RFG297AABP, are available for purchase through samsungparts.com or by calling 800-627-4368. This replacement filter is also available through most major retailers that carry Samsung refrigerators.

Question

Can you tell me if the handles are removeable on this refrigerator?

We need another 1.5" of clearance to get past a doorway. It would be so much easier to remove the handles rather than the doors themselves.

To remove the refrigerator door handles, see the image and instructions below. I would recommend removing the entire freezer drawer, which is actually quite easy, rather than trying to remove the freezer drawer handle, which is much more difficult and requires disassembling the EZ Open Handle™ mechanism.

To remove the freezer drawer, first remove the upper freezer (Auto Pull-out) drawer by lifting the bin up and out. Next, locate the white plastic release buttons toward the rear of the metal track that the freezer drawer rides on. If you press this white button on both the right and left sides, you will be able to pull the entire freezer drawer and rail system out without having to unscrew the drawer facade from the track. Once the refrigerator is through the doorway, it's very easy to reinstall the freezer drawer by simply sliding it back onto its track. Be sure to push the rear section of track all the way in until it locks back into place (the white buttons will pop back out through the opening in the rails). Best of luck!

Question

Delivery Size

Hi,

My front door is only 35 inches wide. I see that the depth of the refrigerator on the Specs tab is over 35 inches, but 33 inches without the door handles. Can anything be removed at the time of delivery in order for this fridge to fit through my front door? I hope so because I ordered it already. Please let me know.

Thank you,

This refrigerator does have 4 wheels. It also has leveling legs in the front. It is recommended that you position the refrigerator in its place, and then turn the leving legs to level the refrigerator. By leveling the refrigerator, the weight will be on the leveling legs, not the front wheels. This will also prevent the refrigerator from pulling out when the freezer door is opened.

Question

How can I get a new piece of the panel?

We bought a beautiful RFG297AARS last January. We had to shipp it to BRAZIL at the original box.
When the tecnician turned it on he forgot to check the power. It was like 220 V and UNFORTUNATELLY something which number is 06DA4100404DPR04S9E3365 had a dammage during the process of turn on the refrigerator. So, we can't use the device once the electical circuit was
burned.
Could you please help us in some way? Could we purchase a new piece in order to set the
refrigerator up? In Brazil has been impossible to fix it!!

I'm sorry to hear you've experienced this issue. Since Samsung USA service and warranties do not apply when shipping product out of the country, I can only suggest you contact Samsung/Brazil to find a local service technician.

If the unit is serviceable, they may need to order parts through a US distributor, since Brazilian distributors may not have access to parts that are unique to US models. Samsung Parts (www.samsungparts.com or 800-627-4368) and Marcone (www.marcone.com) are two of our primary parts distributors in the US that they could contact.

Please click here for Samsung's website for Brazil: http://www.samsung.com/br/

Samsung recommends leaving 2" on top, 2" behind, and at least 1" on each side of the RFG297AABP to allow sufficient air flow for the cooling system to work properly and to optimize efficiency. If either side of the refrigerator will open into a fixed wall longer than 45", you will want to leave at least 3-3/4" on that side for clearance of the handle so the refrigerator door can swing open 90-degrees.

If you have additional questions regarding location or set up, you could download a copy of the User Manual through this link: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/d...

The RFG297AAPN produces 7-1/2 lbs of half-moon shaped cubes (approximately 216 cubes) per day.

Samsung is continually making improvements on its products, however consumer education is also very important. To ensure customers are getting the most out of the RFG297 and other products, Samsung frequently updates the FAQs and Troubleshooting tips on this website to complement the support available through the agents at the Call Center and the information printed in the User Manual. There are some very useful articles available through these online resources which not only help to resolve issues once they occur, but also assist in setting realistic expectations of what to expect from features like the icemaker. Samsung's generous warranty (details of which can be found in the User Manual pdf on this website) is there to support customers who do have issues during the allotted timeframe.

Finally, please keep in mind that Samsung is committed to our customer's satisfaction, as indicated by our five-year legacy of the JD Power & Associates Overall Customer Satisfaction Award for Refrigerators.

Thank you for your questions, and your interest!

The noise you hear is likely the sound of the refrigerator compressor running, which is normal. You may also hear a noise when the refrigerator compressor starts at the beginning of a cooling cycle and when it shuts off.

To ensure the noise is normal, I would suggest checking to make sure the refrigerator is level. If the refrigerator is not leveled properly, it may make abnormal noises and may not cool properly. Please refer to the Troubleshooting link below for instructions on how to level your fridge: http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa...
