I have the same problem but the unit cannot be levelled using the front leveling pads because the pads are already off the floor. A service tech came but he could not level the unit either and wrote it off as "unserviceable". Samsung should respond to this fully.

The front leveling legs can be adjusted using a flathead screwdriver to correct the tilting. I suggest placing a carpenter's level on top of the refrigerator while you make the adjustments, checking both front to back and side to side, as necessary, until the refrigerator is level.

My RFG238 has the same problem: with the front adjustable feet fully retracted, the unit rests on all four rollers but still tilts back about an inch, even though the floor is level. The problem is that the two rear rollers need to extend about another 3/8" from the unit in order to be level. In my user's manual, the front overall height "D" is correct at 69 3/4" if the unit is resting on the front rollers (i.e., no protrusion of the adjustable legs!). However, the the rear height "C" is listed at 69 5/8", which is incorrect. With the rear rollers resting on 3/8" spacer blocks to make the unit both level (2' level on the top of the unit) and plumb (as measured with a carpenter's 4' level against the back of the unit), the correct rear height "C" is approximately 68 9/16". I used two wooden shims that taper from 0" to 3/8" over about 6", with a level flat area at the 3/8" height of about another 4" length (the purpose of the level flat area is to prevent the unit from having a tendency to roll back down the ramp of the shim). When the unit is pushed back into its final location, the rear rollers ride up the ramp part of the shims and settle to rest on the level flat area that is 3/8" thick. Note that this results in doors that will have no tendency to self-close, but even with the original 1" back tilt, the self-close tendency of the doors was not enough to overcome the spring-loaded arm that contacts the door when it is within a few inches of closing (so they would not close completely anyway). I guess Ms. Samsung should tell us whether it is more important to have the unit both level and plumb, or installed with an unsightly back tilt that encourages the doors partially self-close?

There are a number of products available at your local appliance, hardware, home improvement or even grocery store specifically designed to clean real stainless steel. Simply follow the instructions on the package. Another option is to apply a small amount of baby oil to the stainless finish using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. This will not only clean the stainless steel, but will help prevent fingerprints from recurring.

Thanks for the question!

Go to Walmart or Target and purchase Weiman Stainless Steal Wipes. After you wipe down the fridge it might look like you have a soapy mess on your hands but don't fret. Just stand back and watch it evaporate into a beautiful shine. These wipes are amazing!!

Thanks for the question. To move the divider, first check the bottom edge to make sure it isn't screwed into place for added security. Next, lift up on the front of the divider, pulling its front "hook" free from its slot in the freezer drawer bin. It may be necessary to remove the tilting pocket that houses the pizza flap in order to do this. Once the front is free, pull it up at a sharp angle (almost vertical) in order to free the upward-facing "hook" from the slot in the rear. It may help to view the attached photo of the divider showing the downward-facing front hook and upward-facing rear to better understand the angles necessary for removing the divider.

I had already tried what you suggested. I even went to the store where I purchased it and asked the salesman to show me. He almost couldn't do it. He said he should be able to do this since he put it together. When he pulled with all his strength, it sounded like something broke. He was then able to remove it. I still can't remove mine...

The RFG237 and RFG238 refrigerators are virtually the same, except for the addition of the Dual Ice feature - a second icemaker located in the freezer compartment - in the RFG238.

These two models both offer 23 cubic feet of storage, and feature Samsung's signature Twin Cooling Plus System, to help keep food fresh longer; LED lighting; through-the-door ice and water dispensers; Cool Select Pantry Drawers; Auto Pull-out upper freezer drawers; and EZ Open freezer drawer handles.

Question

Do the doors on the refrigerator require additional width when opened?

The RFG238AARS measures 35-3/4" wide, and Samsung recommends leaving at least 1" on each side to allow for sufficient air flow for the cooling system to work properly and most efficiently.

As far as the door swing is concerned, though the doors do swing out about 1/2" past the width of the refrigerator case, most customers would choose to align the front edge of the refrigerator case with the cabinets, which would allow the doors to swing open unobstructed.

Samsung does offer a narrower counter depth French Door which may be a better option given your 36" width limitation. The 18 cubic foot RF197ACRS measures 32-1/4" wide by 69-3/4" high with hinges by 24-3/8" deep without the doors, and features Samsung's Twin Cooling system, LED lighting and an automatic icemaker in the freezer, as well as the EZ Open Freezer Drawer Handle and Auto Pull-out upper freezer drawer.

Thank you for your feedback about the RFG237! Samsung refrigerators are designed to lean back slightly, which helps the doors and drawer close - and remain closed - more easily, especially once the refrigerator is loaded with food. The leveling legs in the front of the refrigerator can be used to raise the front more, if necessary, but there is no similar device on the back of the refrigerator.

Different fruits and vegetables have different storage needs with regard to the humidity level. To give you an example, items like lettuce, spinach and berries prefer high humidity (over 90%), while onions and squash prefer lower relative humidity (under 80%). Since the RFG238AARS features Samsung's signature Twin Cooling Plus system, which maintains an optimally high humidity level (over 70%) throughout the refrigerator, your produce should last longer compared to conventional systems regardless of the setting on the drawer. The drawer lever can complement the Twin Cooling, however: open the lever for lower humidity-loving fruits and veggies, and close the lever to increase it. A helpful trick to remember which produce loves higher humidity is to think of what items are kept on the sides of the produce aisle in the grocery stores (where they receive frequent "mistings" of water) and which are not.

You are correct that the filter indicator light is blue upon installation, or when a new filter is installed and the light is reset. After about 5 months, the light should turn light pink, then red at about 6 months, indicating it is time to replace the filter cartridge.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your RFG238. There are a number of factors that can effect the ability of your icemakers to produce ice. Please check the following, referring to the User Manual as needed. The User Manual can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website for your convenience. Please note that since you did not mention whether the water dispenser is working properly, the tips below include those necessary for determining whether the water supply is part of the issue.

- Is your water pressure at the recommended level? In order for the ice makers to operate properly, water pressure of 20~125 psi (pound per square inch) is required. Under normal conditions, a 170 cc (5.75 oz.) cup can be filled in 10 seconds with the appropriate water pressure.
- Is the water valve turned on all the way?
- Are there any bends or kinks in the water line that could be obstructing water flow?
- Is the water filter installed correctly?
- Does removing the water filter allow water to flow faster? If this is the case, your water filter may be clogged and should be replaced.
- Are the refrigerator and freezer temperatures at the recommended settings, 38°F and -2°F, respectively, or lower?
- Is the icebucket pushed in all the way for the upper icemaker?
- Is the icemaker feeler arm stuck in the "up" position (check both upper and lower icemakers for this)?
- Have you tried pressing the icemaker reset buttons?
If all of the above conditions have been met and your icemakers still are not producing ice, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Thank you for the question. The dairy compartment is designed to hold dairy products like butter or cheese, and is not intended to hold an egg carton or Samsung's egg container. Your RFG238 should have come with an egg container (see attached photo) that can be placed anywhere inside the refrigerator, as well as on the door. If you did not receive this container with your new refrigerator, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Similar to frost, ice accumulation and dripping could be caused by either the drawer not sealing properly or by inadequate ventilation. Please click on the following troubleshooting link, then click on Operation > Freezer > Frost in the Freezer: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If the dripping is excessive and appears to be caused by a leak rather than the ice or frost melting in the freezer, please review the relevant articles in the "Water And Ice" section with regard to leaking. If these articles do not help to resolve the issue, your refrigerator may require service. Please use the link provided in the articles to request service.

Thank you for the question. The plastic screen with the word "Front" on it is a liner that you can place in the bottom of the ice container in the freezer of your RFG238. This liner helps to reduce the sound of the ice falling into the bin, and also cushions the fall so the cubes are less likely to break. The plastic cover you referred to probably belongs on the front of the freezer icemaker and should snap into place. This cover is cosmetic and does not serve a functional purpose.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with the upper icemaker in your RFG238. If the tray rotates then fills with water when you press the Test button, but does not harvest, it may not be cold enough to freeze. Check to make sure the bucket is inserted securely and there are no gaps allowing cold air to escape or warm air to enter. Try lowering the freezer temperature or pressing Power Freeze and make sure the icemaker is turned on by checking the control panel, as well. If the Ice Off icon for the upper icemaker is illuminated, press the Ice Off button until it is no longer lit. If, when you press the Test button, the tray rotates but does not fill with water, try dispensing several more gallons to bleed any remaining air from the water lines. Question

RFG237 vs. RFG238 specifications

In the other questions concerning these two models you stated that they were essentially the same refrigerator except that the 238 had a second icemaker. Then why does your website list differences in the size of the freezers? Also the website says that the interior lighting is 60W bulbs. Isn't the lighting only LED?

The specifications of the RFG237 and RFG238 are the same with the exception of the additional icemaker in the freezer compartment of the RFG238, referred to as the Dual Ice feature. The net capacity of the compartments are 6.7 cubic feet in the freezer and 15.8 cubic feet in the refrigerator, for a total of 22.5 cubic feet overall. Both models have LED lighting in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments.

It is not unusual for Samsung refrigerators to lean back slightly, which actually helps the door close more easily. If you believe it is leaning back too much, then you should be able to lower the front legs by turning them counter clockwise. If this does not resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you further.
