The RF4287HA is rated for 115V/60 Hz/11.6 amps. I would suggest consulting with your power company or a local electrician for assistance selecting a surge protector that is rated appropriately for your refrigerator.
Using the stated volts (115) and amps (11.6) the watts would be 1,334. What is not known is if there is a start-up surge that exceeds 1,334 watts which is not uncommon. I've not been able to get an answer from Ms. Samsung to this question. I need to know for generator load calculations, so without that number, I have to assume the max wattage that a 20AMP, 120V circuit can handle of 2,400 watts to be safe, though I would hope that this unit would not have that much extra on start-up and is probably no more than 1,600 watts.
When I first started I was able to see my wireless internet connection and connect just for a while and then lost it and now I cant get the fridge to detect it even if I set the router right next to the fridge. Help! Please

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your wireless connection. Please refer to the troubleshooting section on page 80 of the user manual, which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website. If the troubleshooting suggestions do not help to resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.
The RF268AB is not equipped with the LCD screen, WiFi or other components necessary for the Apps feature. I can't tell you whether other models will be added that offer that feature in the future, but at this point in time, the only models that do have it are the RF4289 4-Door French Door and the RSG309 Side by Side refrigerators.

The speaker on the 4289 is to the left of the water/ice dispenser. You have to look under at where the water/ice comes from and to the left.

The RF4289HARS needs to be unplugged in order to reboot it. This is safe to do if you're updating the LCD with the latest software upgrade via WiFi. However, if you have an error message or issue with your refrigerator, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent prior to rebooting your refrigerator.
There is a small hole to the right of the SD card slot that is located under the top of the ice dispenser. You can reboot the system by opening a paper clip and putting it into this hole.

I'm sorry to hear your water has a funny taste. It isn't unusual for there to be some residual taste in the lines. Samsung recommends dispensing as much as 5-6 gallons of water and dumping the first few batches of ice to flush the system. The taste should dissipate over time.

Different fruits and vegetables have different storage needs with regard to the humidity level. To give you an example, items like lettuce, spinach and berries prefer high humidity (over 90%), while onions and squash prefer lower relative humidity (under 80%). Since the RF4289 features Samsung's signature Twin Cooling Plus system, which maintains an optimally high humidity level (over 70%) throughout the refrigerator, your produce should last longer compared to conventional systems regardless of the setting on the drawer. The drawer lever can complement the Twin Cooling, however: open the lever for lower humidity-loving fruits and veggies, and close the lever to increase it. A helpful trick to remember which produce loves higher humidity is to think of what items are kept on the sides of the produce aisle in the grocery stores (where they receive frequent "mistings" of water) and which are not.

The divider in the FlexZone Drawer of your RF4289HARS refrigerator is designed to help separate items in the drawer, but it cannot be locked in place. The divider can be especially effective when the compartments are relatively full.

How to delete Epicurious photos from model RF4289HARS
Dear Ms. Samsung,
We love to look at our own photos we have uploaded with an SD card from our camera....... BUT, the 10 preloaded photos of pies, cakes, and fruit came with the unit always intrude by inserting themselves into the screensaver theme. This does not appear to be a feature and acts more like a bug. I have attached one photo that shows a photo of strawberries on top of our own photos. When are you going to update this so that users can delete them?

I'm sorry to hear these pre-loaded photos are intruding on your personal photo album. At this point in time, the 10 pre-loaded photos cannot be deleted. As updates do become available, a software update icon will appear on the LCD screen, letting you know an update is available. Go to the S/W Update option in the Settings menu to download the update.
Thank you. I understand how to recognize and perform firmware "push" updates. I guess the more important followup question is - Has this little "bug" been passed to the software developers so that they will know to update this issue in their next update?
We have an RF4289HARS. Our wifi is connected, but when I click on any of the apps I keep getting the same message "Server Disconnected. Try again later". What needs to be done to fix this?

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty accessing the Apps on your RF4289HARS. Please check to see if you have the latest software version installed by pressing the Settings button on the menu, then scrolling down to and selecting S/W Update. The next screen should tell you whether you have the most recent version already, or if there's a new version available. Installing the latest version (currently 2.322) should correct any issues with connecting to the Apps on your fridge. If it does not, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

The condensation you're referring to is normal and is likely to occur in any closed environment where warm air (from food placed inside) comes in contact with colder surfaces, or when the air cools naturally. The confined space of a closed dish or bag traps the moisture so the condensation is more visible, though the same principal applies to drawers, in general, and in the case of Samsung, to the entire refrigerator compartment.
This is because the RF4289, like many Samsung refrigerators, is equipped with Twin Cooling Plus, a system that helps to optimize the humidity level in the refrigerator by eliminating the transfer of air (including flavors and odors) between the refrigerator and freezer compartments. The higher humidity level in the refrigerator helps food stay fresh longer because it doesn't dry out as fast.

Thank you for the question. The RF4289 is not yet able to communicate in this manner, though this capability may be available in the future, as described in the Smart Grid section on page 66 of the user manual.
