Thanks for your interest. The RF4287 is 35-3/4" wide and can easily fit through a 36" doorway, if not head-on, then by removing the doors. The instructions can be found in the user manual that comes with the refrigerator, or it can be downloaded from this website in advance for your convenience; click here to download the pdf: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/o...

The letters "OF" on the display of your RF4287 indicate the Cooling Off mode has been activated. To cancel this mode, press the Energy Saver and Power Freeze buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until a chime sounds and a numeric reading returns to the display, allowing you to set the desired temperature. The compressor should turn on in about 5 minutes and begin producing cold air.

Question

Our RF4287hars automatic doors don't close automatically

Although the fridge doors are supposedly Cool Tight doors, they do not close automatically, despite the indication of such in the product specs. Is there something that needs to be adjusted, is it a defective unit or does this model actually not feature this auto close function?

Thanks

The ability of the "Cool Tight" doors on the RF4287 to close "automatically" is made possible by the hooks at the top of the door frame which, when engaged with the indentations at the top of the doors helps to pull them closed. In order for this feature to function correctly, the refrigerator should be properly leveled from left to right. Samsung refrigerators are designed to lean back slightly to help the doors close and seal properly. A level placed on a shelf inside the refrigerator should indicate it is level left to right and front to back, but the outside of the fridge should lean back slightly. If it does not, or if the door storage bins are overloaded, the doors may not be able to close correctly. Try adjusting the front leveling legs, and remove some items from the door if necessary.

Question

Completely removing the fexzone drawer and rails from a RF4287, leaving the track of course.

We could not have a Samsung RF4287 delivered as it would not fit through our doorway. The reason was that the delivery person took off the front of the Flexzone drawer but left the rails on which extended out making the fridge another 2 inches deep. There is a release button that allows the entire drawer and rails to be removed, but a power cord runs through that the keeps the drawer from being completely removed. Is there a way to disconnect that from the fridge to allow the entire drawer and rails to be removed? Please help!

Thanks for your question. The black wire can be disconnected by following the instructions on page 11 of the User Manual - see steps 2 and 3. The cover on the inside right of the Flex Zone Drawer front panel is visible when you remove the drawer insert. Carefully pry this cover off with a flat-head screwdriver, then disconnect the wiring harness.

Removing Flex Drawer and power line from RF4287

I am having a terrible time getting an RF4287 delivered. When you press the release buttons and remove the flex drawer, there is still a black power tube that controls the display on the drawer. How can that be disconnected for the drawer to be fully removed?

Samsung's Twin Cooling system in the RS2545SH uses two fans. If it sounds as though the fan is hitting something, service may be necessary, and Samsung recommends having it serviced by a qualified technician. Question

Icemaker jam

There are ice cubes frozen and jammed in my icemaker. I've removed all that I could disloge. However, there are at least two ice cubes that are still stuck in the front area of the discharge opening that I can't get enough leverage to dislodge due to the very tight space available around the icemaker. I can hear the icemaker motor straining to turn perodically. I'm afraid that the motor will be damaged.

Furthermore, Ive tried filling out the online request for service form, but there doesn't seem a way to continue after the page that asks for name, address and phone numbers.

answer 1
There are several factors that can effect the ability of an icemaker to produce ice, including water supply, freezer and refrigerator temperatures, and control panel functions. Please check the following to try to resolve the issue:
- Is the water connected, the valve turned on and hoses unkinked and free of obstruction?
- Is your home's water pressure between 20~125 psi? Under normal conditions, a 5.75 oz. glass can be filled in about 10 seconds.
- Is the refrigerator set at the recommended 38°F? If the refrigerator is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- Is the freezer temperature cold enough? Samsung recommends setting the freezer at -2°F.
- Is the icemaker turned on? Make sure the Ice Off icon is not illuminated on the display.
- Is the feeler arm under the icemaker stuck in the "up" position, which would signal to the icemaker that the bucket is full and to stop making ice.
- Is the control panel locked, which would prevent the dispenser from operating?
- Is the water filter installed properly and locked in place?
- Did you bleed the air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water from the dispenser since installing or replacing the filter?
- Did you press the Test button on the icemaker to reset it?

If none of the above suggestions helps to resolve the issue, and the ice tray does not fill with water, try removing the water filter temporarily and press the test button on the icemaker again. If the tray fills without a filter installed, then the cartridge is likely clogged or partially clogged and should be replaced. The filter should be replaced about every 6 months based on average usage, but it could become clogged sooner if there are a lot of impurities in the water supply.

If, after checking each of these suggestions, the icemaker still isn't functioning properly, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you.

Question

What causes the display to stop responding.

The icons are lit but the temperature values are not & will not display when the screen is touched. IF, I unplug the unit and wait for a minute for the display icons to go blank, then plug the unit back in it seems to function properly for some Unknown period of time before I discover it is Unresponsive. Also, when I get the unit back UP after this Failure, the Temperatures have risen 6 or 7 degrees from the desired settings. FYI, The unit is NOT in Child Lock mode.
