Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We have conferred with our resident home appliance expert who asks if the unit was recently installed or whether the doors were ever removed. The reason for the latter question is because part of the water line runs through one the assembly of the door where the dispenser is built in. We recommend you email us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com. Please be sure to include a brief description of your issue, your product model and serial number, your contact info, as well as the answers to the above questions?

Question

Why does my display look different than the model in the store?

When my wife and I purchased this Fridge from Lowe's it had a sleek stainless steel finish display which is why we purchased it over the model with the black display. Yesterday the fridge was delivered and it had the same looking display but it was black, and nothing like what we saw in the store.

Thanks for reaching out to Samsung.

All electronic devices are susceptible to complications due to power outages or power surges.

However, if there is one and your fridge door is kept closed during that time there will be a better chance of keeping everything cool. But we would suggest a friend or neighbor checking if there does happen to be a power outage in your neighborhood as a precaution.

Also, if you believe your refrigerator has been damaged by a power outage, power surge, etc. let us know.

Question

Cooling dispensed water through door

I like my new refrigerator except for the water dispensed through the door. It comes out at room temperature instead of chilled or, better yet, icy cold!

Is this a malfunction or is there a setting I can change to make it cooler? Otherwise I'm going to have to buy a water dispenser to get colder water.

Thanks!

Question

Would you Please, Please consider making a replacement part for the Flex Drawer that has a locking divider?

Absolutely LOVE our refrigerator except for the fact that the divider in the flex drawer does not lock in place. Items are forever sliding around, often ruining appetizers or desserts that I have spent hours on creating. An easy turn knob on the divider that would allow the divider to be locked would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you for your question. The Auto-Pull Out feature refers to the drawers coming out far enough that you can access it to pull out further without having to reach extremely far back into the freezer area. It does not refer to having the Auto-Pull Out drawer completely covering over the rest of the freezer bin when pulled out. If this behavior is what you're experiencing, it is normal and proper.

If this doesn't accurately describe what you're experiencing, please contact us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, or if you want to come through a social media channel, we have a couple options for you:

On the 29 degree setting, the actual measured temp is 34. On the 33 degree setting, the reading is 39. What needs to be done to fix this. The repairman came out, changed the sensor for the drawer temp but the problem still persists. There is no prblem with the refrigerator/freezer temps.

I had them replace the refrigerator 3 times before we received one that come close to temp setting. The current one is always set at 29 degrees and the drawer temp is 34 in the front corners and 32 at the center back.

The best option is to turn down the bottom freezer to a lower temp from
-2 to -4 or more if needed. It will help lower the drawer temp.

Question

Can the Ice/Water work with the right door open on RF4287HARS

Why can't the dispenser work with the right side door open? I understand having to keep the left side closed, but it is inconvenient to have to wait for someone to dispense ice or water before you can open the other door. Is there any way to disable the switch that cuts it off when the right door is opened?

Question

ice maker

I will be vacationing for 5 months, leaving refrig. and freezer on, as I do not empty bottles, sauces etc., and leave meats in freezer. What do I do about the ice maker? Empty the remaining ice in box and turn ICE OFF?Set temperature in refrig. at 40F and leave freezer temp. at 0F? To keep temperature in the refrig. at 40F,now, I have to set refrig. temp. at 34F. So when I leave should I set temp. in refrig. at 40F??
Setting temp. at 38F does not keep food safety at 40F, so that is why I set refrig trmp. to 34F to keep food in refrig. at 40F.

Regarding the ice maker, yes, you can turn it off. Here's a little guide on the difference: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=348594&modelname=&modelcode=&session_id=

As to the temperature of the refrigerator, that is ultimately your decision to optimize power consumption against the risk of your food spoiling. It seems as though you've thought through your options quite thoroughly, and you know your particular device far better. So it remains your choice.
