Question

My regrigerator is very slow in making ice. How can I get it to make ice faster?

Temp's are set at factory recommendations, -2 and 38. It takes several days to make a tray full of ice, and then it is only half full. Very slow.

The temperature of Flex Zone drawer is inconsistent

Dear All,

I bought the fridge (RF4287HARS/XAA) since last Nov and I have problem with the temperature of Flex Zone drawer. The lowest temperature setting for the Flex Zone drawer, 29 degrees for "Meat and Fish' but the drawer seems reach 29 degrees for couple days but all of sudden the temperature is over 32 degrees for more than a week. Even I don't open the drawer for over 12 hours but the temperature still can't get back to 29 degree. Especially I don't open the fridge open. I search on Samsung website and I found some comments from a customer as follows: "According to the technicians who have sought to remedy this problem, Samsung is removing the actual degree references on future models. The temperature FLUCTUATES between 32 and 40 degrees. I'm not sure about the 32 degrees, since I rotate ice packs in from the freezer every other day. So! Don't expect this drawer to hold fish for more than a day. When I took the attached photo, the ice had melted."

Basically I have the same problem, I set the drawer for 29 F degrees but the ice melt completely after couple days. I just wonder has any customers have the similar problem? Flex Zone drawer is the reason I pay few hundreds more to buy the fridge since I thought it can keep meat and fish longer.

The contributor is correct that the FlexZone Drawer is NOT intended for frozen items, with the coldest temperature available being the 29°F Meat/Fish setting. This setting will help to preserve fresh meat or seafood for a longer period of time, but it will not keep items frozen solid. For perspective, compare the Flex Zone temperature range of 29°F to 42°F to the freezer range of -8°F to a maximum temperature of 8°F.

Question

The display panel does not work when youched - no symbols for the refrigerator or freezer temp, no cubed ice symbol, no lighting symbol.

When pushing the cubed/crused ice bar nothing happens and the cubed ice icon does not show.

Question

Mechanical chatter when water dispenses

When I dispense water there is a loud mechanical chatter in the rear of the refrigerator for about 5-10 seconds. It sounds like the valve/solenoid. I flushed over three gallons of water through the refrigerator and there was no change in the sound. I have not changed the filter, as it is only one month old.

Question

Noise from compressor or fan under the fridge

I purchased my fridge a few months back. It has never been moved from my kitchen since it was installed by the store reps I purchased it from.
Lately it has been making noise. It sounds like the compressor of a fan spinning underneath it or behind the fridge. It does it at random intervals.

Is this normal?

I have noticed that mine makes this same noise and sometimes it's quite loud. You'd think that something this new would be quiet. Ours also hasn't been moved or adjusted since the guys who delivered it installed it. I have experimented when the noise starts and if I pull out the freezer drawer a little then close it, it seems to make the noise stop. I'm sure this is just a temporary fix and we can't decide if we should actually call for service yet or wait and see what happens. The noise didn't start right away. It seems like we didn't hear it until a few days later. Sorry, but this probably doesn't help you much. it is nice to know that someone else is having the same problem.

When you first press the button, the temperatures that are shown are the set point temperatures of the fridge and the freezer. After a few seconds, the actual current temperatures are displayed.

Dispenser

Water/ice dispenser just have a mind of their own and once it just emptied the ice bin onto kitchen floor then the second time it poured gallons of water on floor. I have turned the water off to it to stop further problems. The light on the ddor is staying lit up which is still a sign to me that there is a switch stuck??

flex zone drawer won't close

We purchased this unit this past Thanksgiving. The flex zone drawer won't close all the way sometimes. I pulled out the tray to check the mechanism. What I found was that the power cable that runs in the track on the right side comes out of the space under the rail when closing and blocks the drawer from closing. Is there a fix for this or does the unit get returned?

Question

Display shows no ice CUBE option

After 48 hours my new R4287 still does not show the ice cube option, only the crushed ice option. If I push the dark area where the ice cube icon should appear, the freezer and frig temps both light up. Then, Sometimes both temp displays cycle through all the possible temp settings before stopping. Otherwise the 4287 seems to work OK.

Also, can I display the actual frig and freezer temps and if so, how?
I assume the frig and freezer temps I see displayed are the target temps.

Below the display and above the cut out for the dispenser it says cubed and crushed ice. Push which one you want and the display will change.

Door noise

When opening and closing the left refrigerator door, there is a squeek from the hinge on the flap that closes the area between the two doors. And a squeek from the door seal rubbing on the bottom of the ice maker.

Question

Flex Zone drawer appears to be stuck

The flex zone drawer on my Samsung fridge does not appear to be pulling out as far as it once did. There is nothing blocking it from pulling out more. The freezer on the bottom pulls out about 6 more inches, and I cant even reach towards the back of the flex drawer. It doesn't pull out enough for me to remove the white plastic container with metal sliders/organizers so I can't trouble shoot the problem myself. Please help.
