Lemon Pledge works great. Recomended by salesmen. When you clean with Pledge you can clean off smudges instead of cleaning whole refrigerator. Leaves a nice shine also.

There are a number of products available at your local appliance, hardware, home improvement or even grocery store specifically designed to clean real stainless steel. Another option is to apply a small amount of baby oil to the stainless finish using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. This will not only clean the stainless steel, but may help prevent fingerprints from recurring.

The very best way to clean the outside is with a Supercloth. The European cleaning secret. We had one for use on our flat screen tv and it works great on the stainless. Whats best is no harsh cleaners or chemicals. Just wet the cloth and ring it out and wipe off the fridg. For info I would suggest google the words super cloth. I dont remember how we got it but is works great and quick.

2 microfiber cloths (1 moist / 1 for drying) perform well; they buff out fingerprints just fine, and can go right into the laundry. Just after the installers came . . . had lots of fingerprints. Another time, used a paper towel to wipe some water droplets from the around the water dispenser; the moist paper towel worked fine to touch up where a few fingerprints were.

To note, there don't seem to be many fingerprints accumulating at all . . . this might be due to the design of the long, vertical / horizontal handles -- and, this is a household with kids, and been wondering why it isn't messier. Maybe too, the showroom floor just gets more wear and tear from the public.

Overall, the stainless on this fridge stays attractive. Enjoy!

Use a damp microfiber cloth followed by a dry microfiber cloth. That's all you'll need for daily cleaning. Once a month ( or so) use a high quality stainless steel cleaner. The brand I use is Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish.

Club Soda & microfiber cloth. I let my soda go flat & pour it into a clean spray bottle. Great for touch ups & to clean the entire fridge. Inexpensive, great cleaner & no chemicals.

Question

Noise from compressor or fan under the fridge

I purchased my fridge a few months back. It has never been moved from my kitchen since it was installed by the store reps I purchased it from.
Lately it has been making noise. It sounds like the compressor of a fan spinning underneath it or behind the fridge. It does it at random intervals.

Is this normal?

I have noticed that mine makes this same noise and sometimes it's quite loud. You'd think that something this new would be quiet. Ours also hasn't been moved or adjusted since the guys who delivered it installed it. I have experimented when the noise starts and if I pull out the freezer drawer a little then close it, it seems to make the noise stop. I'm sure this is just a temporary fix and we can't decide if we should actually call for service yet or wait and see what happens. The noise didn't start right away. It seems like we didn't hear it until a few days later. Sorry, but this probably doesn't help you much. it is nice to know that someone else is having the same problem.

Question

My user manual mentions a dairy compartment on p.31, but where is it?

This question was asked about 3 weeks ago. I have the RF4287 and there is no dairy compartment per your answer. There are only OPEN bins for the doors, no flip-top cover. I went back to the store, and the one on display only has open bin doors.
So the question is still open, where is the dairy compartment ? Is there supposed to be another bin we did not receive ?

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and I apologize for the confusion.

While the RF4287 User Manual does mention a Dairy Compartment on page 32, the diagram of the RF4287 interior on page 31 and photographs of the interior elsewhere on this site, do not show this compartment. Many Samsung French Door models do come with a Dairy Compartment, but the RF4287, whose interior was completely redesigned to integrate new LED lighting fixtures and the alternative storage compartments, such as the FlexZone Drawer, does not actually come with this bin.

I hope this clarifies the question of whether the RF4287 comes with a Dairy Compartment. Thank you for your question and for choosing Samsung,

Samsung's fingerprint-resistant stainless-look finish is called Stainless Platinum. While many of our refrigerators are available in this finish, other appliances are not. The RF4287 model refrigerator is currently available in real Stainless Steel, White and Black, not Platinum. Samsung does not currently make any countertop microwaves, only the Over The Range style.

Thanks for the questions. It is not unusual to have some resistance in the Flex Zone Drawer railings when it is new, but the drawer should pull all the way out with just a bit of effort initially. After a short time, the rails should be better lubricated and should glide more easily.

Regarding registration, please use the Live Chat feature on the product support page or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

The drawer should be pretty easily and fully accessable. You may need to adjust the rails on your drawer for full range of access. On the fridge that was delivered to us first, the drawer did not pull out all the way. (we had a fridge delivered and the store delivered an open box fridge not a new one, so they delivered the new one a week later) We had to, and this is going to seem counter intuitive, pull hard/jerk the drawer where it was getting stuck to get it to open all way. The new fridge didn't have the same issue. There is a way to disassemble the flex zone drawer, check page 11 of your owners manual. If you can't find your owners manual you can download it right from this site. You are going to need adobe reader.

Hope this helps!

The contributor is correct that the FlexZone Drawer is NOT intended for frozen items, with the coldest temperature available being the 29°F Meat/Fish setting. This setting will help to preserve fresh meat or seafood for a longer period of time, but it will not keep items frozen solid. For perspective, compare the Flex Zone temperature range of 29°F to 42°F to the freezer range of -8°F to a maximum temperature of 8°F.

Thanks for the question!

the flexzone is climated for freezer foods. this is basically a fridge extension for fruits, deli items. the temp settings go from 47, 32, and 33 degrees. so no freezer items can be kept here for those temps.

Thank you for choosing the new RF4287HARS Four-Door French Door! While you're correct that there is no traditional Dairy or Butter compartment, the designers have maximized the storage space so you'll have plenty of shelves, door bins and drawers to store a butter dish, dairy items and many other fresh and frozen foods. In addition, the Flex Zone Drawer has four sections, with flexible sizing, and settings for a variety of food types.

Enjoy!

You can go to Samsung website then click on kitchen appliances then to the RF428HAABP. It will give you a description as well as an icon to click on to find stores in your area. If you have a Best Buy for example I am sure they will carry it. Rather than put in your whole address your zip code would suffice

I would suggest using a utility knife inserted in the crevice and run along the base of the plastic to remove it. If you're very careful you can do this without scratching the surface of the RF4287HARS. However, please keep in mind that scratches cannot be completely removed if they are made.

On the outside,i would wait until the refrigerator outside is at room temperature f it was just delivered.
For the inside plastic covering removal, i would wait until the fridge has cooled down as the glue in them would stick/stain if you forcefully remove them.

When your refrigerator is first installed, it can take up to 24 hours to reach the set temperature. Besides temperature, there are several factors that can effect the ability of the unit to produce ice. Following the instructions in the User Manual with regard to water pressure, installing the water filter, and pressing the test/reset button on the icemaker are key to ensuring the best performance. Following is a list of items to check:
- Is your water pressure at the recommended level? In order for the ice maker to operate properly, a water pressure of 20~125 psi (pound per square inch) is required. Under normal conditions, a 170 cc (5.75 oz.) cup can be filled in 10 seconds.
- Is the water valve turned on all the way?
- Are there any bends or kinks in the water line that could be obstructing water flow?
- Is the water filter installed correctly?
- Does removing the water filter allow water to flow faster? If this is the case, your water filter may be clogged and should be replaced. Though this is not common in new filters, it is possible.
- Is the icemaker turned on? When dispensing ice, is either cubed or crushed selected?
- Are the refrigerator and freezer temperatures at the recommended settings, 38°F and -2°F, respectively, or lower?
- Is the icebucket pushed in all the way?
- Is the icemaker feeler arm stuck in the "up" position?
- Have you tried pressing the icemaker reset button?

Be sure to follow the icemaker initialization procedure, which involves throwing away the first few batches, then dispensing a few cubes to cause the auger in the bucket to start moving ice forward so it doesn't all pile up under the ice feeler arm.

There are a number of articles on the Troubleshooting Guide as well as How To videos to help you get to know your icemaker. Understanding how it works will help you to set appropriate expectations and get the most out of your new RF4287 French Door.

I hope this helps!

Our refrigerator was set up and running by 11:30 am and the ice maker was full by 11:30 the following morning. make sure you dump the first load of ice in case there is any residue in the lines.

When you first press the button, the temperatures that are shown are the set point temperatures of the fridge and the freezer. After a few seconds, the actual current temperatures are displayed.

Not sure if many fridge units these days include egg trays; we just use the carton . . . this wasn't a deal-breaker for us. But if you like to protect / display your eggs, perhaps keeping the tray from your old machine is an idea for when they haul it away (we did something similar with our dishwasher silverware baskets last summer).

To note: We gained an extra 3.0 cu.ft. inside this fridge, and it's got the same outer dimensions as our former machine (standard size fridge common to most homes). That's a lot of space for extra eggs!

Enjoy!
