Thank you for the question. The procedure for turning the icemaker back on is actually the same as turning it off: press the Cubed and Crushed ice buttons for 3 seconds until the Ice Off icon is no longer illuminated.

Try just simply pressing the gray bar that says cubed ice , not the glowing light ..... the actual bar that says cubed/ crushed ice. Hold it in for 3 sec and the ice off light will go off and then it takes a while for it to start up with new ice.

Question

Our flexzone drawer has never opened all the way

Our flex zone drawer always has stopped about 6-8in shy of all the way. This makes it hard to see things in the back of the drawer. There seems to be a nylon bushing or stop on the rail portion supporting the insert. Is this supposed to be there and can we move it so that drawer extends fully?

Thank you for the question. It is not unusual for there to be some resistance in the rails of the Flex Zone Drawer when it's new, but you should be able to pull the drawer out fully with some effort. Once fully lubricated, this resistance should dissipate.

Question

My RD4287HARS doors do not close all of the way.

Most of the time doors stop closing when they come in contact with the door closer lever. The door closer levers seem to be very tight. Is there a way to relieve the tension on these devices?

Thank you for the question. The tension on the Seal Tight Door Hooks cannot be adjusted. Please make sure your refrigerator is leveled properly. Samsung refrigerators are designed to lean back slightly to help the doors close more easily, so if yours is not leaning back a bit you may want to make the adjustment to help the doors close properly.

Thank you for the question, though I'm not sure I understand exactly which dimension you're asking for, and I'm not able to read the attached image when I enlarge it. The lower edge of the freezer drawer of the RF4287 starts about 2-3/8" off the floor, and the bottom edge of the refrigerator doors is 34-3/4" from the ground. The top edge of the refrigerator doors is 69-7/8" high off the ground. Keep in mind that these measurements can vary slightly depending on how the front leveling legs are set.

I hope this helps to answer your question, but please feel free to submit a new question if you need additional information.

It's not unusual for it to take as long as 24 hours for the refrigerator and freezer to cool to the set temperature depending on a number of factors including the difference between the actual and set temperature, the amount and temperature of food placed inside, and the frequency of the doors being opened. When you press the buttons on the display, it should illuminate and show the temperature you set, then blink with the actual temperature reading. If the letters "OF" are on your display, the refrigerator is in "Cooling Off" mode which can be deactivated by pressing the Energy Saver and Power Freeze buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. Once deactivated, the display should show the numeric temperatures and allow you to set them as desired. The compressor should turn on in about 5 minutes and begin producing cold air.

The freezer and Flex Zone drawers in the RF4287 refrigerator should both pull out approximately 21". It may be necessary to apply extra pressure to pull the Flex Zone drawer open all the way initially, but once it has been fully extended once or twice it should do so easily moving forward.

Question

How do I get the plastic taste out of the water?

We have had our refrigerator for 4 months now. We were told upon installation to run a few gallons of water and a few treys of ice out of the dispenser to remove the plastic taste. We have done this many times over and it still tastes like plastic. The owners manual says nothing about this.

Question

I just purchased an RF4287HA Refrigerator. It's stainless and Gray. Do you have gray touch-up paint?

When the installers were bringing it into the house, they put two small scraches on the lower part of the side with the dolly. If I can't repair the scratches, I need to return the refrigerator and have a new one installed. It took two installers almost 2 hours to take it apart and put it back together trying to get in into the house.

I'm sorry to hear your new refrigerator was scratched during delivery. Unfortunately, Samsung does not have touch-up paint available for the gray sides. As an alternative to having the refrigerator replaced, you may want to consult with an appliance or paint specialist at your local hardware or home improvement store.

Question

How do you remove the veg cover glass?

My wife spilled some sauce that seeped into the crevices of the veg cover. I am unable to remove this glass shelf to clean it. It does not come out like the other shelves because of the water filter attachment. I also cannot seem to remove the glass itself from the shelf which would solve the problem. Is there a way to remove just the glass? There are a couple of back hinges holding the glass in but they do not flip up. Thanks for your help
