Try just simply pressing the gray bar that says cubed ice , not the glowing light ..... the actual bar that says cubed/ crushed ice. Hold it in for 3 sec and the ice off light will go off and then it takes a while for it to start up with new ice.

Thank you for the question. The procedure for turning the icemaker back on is actually the same as turning it off: press the Cubed and Crushed ice buttons for 3 seconds until the Ice Off icon is no longer illuminated.

Question

Our flexzone drawer has never opened all the way

Our flex zone drawer always has stopped about 6-8in shy of all the way. This makes it hard to see things in the back of the drawer. There seems to be a nylon bushing or stop on the rail portion supporting the insert. Is this supposed to be there and can we move it so that drawer extends fully?

Thank you for the question. It is not unusual for there to be some resistance in the rails of the Flex Zone Drawer when it's new, but you should be able to pull the drawer out fully with some effort. Once fully lubricated, this resistance should dissipate.

Question

I just purchased an RF4287HA Refrigerator. It's stainless and Gray. Do you have gray touch-up paint?

When the installers were bringing it into the house, they put two small scraches on the lower part of the side with the dolly. If I can't repair the scratches, I need to return the refrigerator and have a new one installed. It took two installers almost 2 hours to take it apart and put it back together trying to get in into the house.

I'm sorry to hear your new refrigerator was scratched during delivery. Unfortunately, Samsung does not have touch-up paint available for the gray sides. As an alternative to having the refrigerator replaced, you may want to consult with an appliance or paint specialist at your local hardware or home improvement store.

The freezer and Flex Zone drawers in the RF4287 refrigerator should both pull out approximately 21". It may be necessary to apply extra pressure to pull the Flex Zone drawer open all the way initially, but once it has been fully extended once or twice it should do so easily moving forward.

Thank you for the question. The tension on the Seal Tight Door Hooks cannot be adjusted. Please make sure your refrigerator is leveled properly. Samsung refrigerators are designed to lean back slightly to help the doors close more easily, so if yours is not leaning back a bit you may want to make the adjustment to help the doors close properly.

Thank you for the question, though I'm not sure I understand exactly which dimension you're asking for, and I'm not able to read the attached image when I enlarge it. The lower edge of the freezer drawer of the RF4287 starts about 2-3/8" off the floor, and the bottom edge of the refrigerator doors is 34-3/4" from the ground. The top edge of the refrigerator doors is 69-7/8" high off the ground. Keep in mind that these measurements can vary slightly depending on how the front leveling legs are set.

I hope this helps to answer your question, but please feel free to submit a new question if you need additional information.

The letters "OF" on the display of your RF4287HAPN indicate the Cooling Off mode has been activated. To cancel this mode, press the Energy Saver and Power Freeze buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until a chime sounds and a numeric reading returns to the display, allowing you to set the desired temperature. The compressor should turn on in about 5 minutes and begin producing cold air.

It's not unusual for it to take as long as 24 hours for the refrigerator and freezer to cool to the set temperature depending on a number of factors including the difference between the actual and set temperature, the amount and temperature of food placed inside, and the frequency of the doors being opened. When you press the buttons on the display, it should illuminate and show the temperature you set, then blink with the actual temperature reading. If the letters "OF" are on your display, the refrigerator is in "Cooling Off" mode which can be deactivated by pressing the Energy Saver and Power Freeze buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. Once deactivated, the display should show the numeric temperatures and allow you to set them as desired. The compressor should turn on in about 5 minutes and begin producing cold air.

Thank you for your interest. Model and color availability can change frequently, especially when new models are introduced. If you are unable to locate this particular model in Stainless Platinum, then I would suggest working with your local retailers to see if there's a similar model available in your preferred color, or perhaps choosing the RF4287 in real Stainless Steel instead.

Question

Can the Flex Zone drawer be used to freeze food?

The salesman at the store said the Flex Zone drawer can be used as a refrigerator-chilling drawer or freezing drawer. I know the freezer is set to much colder than 29 degrees, and freezing temp is 32 degrees, but this is one reason we purchased this fridge and I'm hoping he was correct. We just had it installed and the food in the drawer is not frozen and it's set at 29 degrees (meat setting).

The RF4287HAPN was designed to lean back slightly to help the doors close more easily. If the front of the refrigerator is resting on the wheels, and it is level inside (you can check this by placing a carpenter's level on an inside shelf), Samsung has a part available that can be used to raise the back of the fridge to give it a more aesthetically pleasing look - see the part number below. They are more or less shims/pads that slide under the back wheels. If you are still in warranty you can call 800-SAMSUNG and a Customer Service Representative should be able to send you the part at no cost to you. If you are out of warranty you can visit SamsungParts.com to order the part.

The cooling system in the RF4287HAPN will cycle on for as long as it needs to in order to reach then maintain the set temperature in the freezer and refrigerator compartments as well as the Flex Zone Drawer. Opening the doors or drawers frequently and adding warmer food items effect the internal temperature and make it necessary for the cooling system to work harder. In addition, pressing the Power Freeze or Power Cool buttons will cause the cooling system to turn on for an extended period.

The Energy Saver feature on the control panel controls a low-wattage heater in the strip between the refrigerator doors that helps to evaporate condensation that is more likely to develop in warm, humid climates. Turning Energy Saver on turns the heater off, and vice versa; this does not have an effect on the cooling system.

I hope this helps to clarify-
