I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. I would suggest you check the wiring connections under the door hinge covers to make sure they are attached properly, since this could effect the sensors that detect whether the door is open or closed. If the doors had been removed during delivery, the wiring may not have been reconnected correctly. Please refer to the user manual for more information on removing/reattaching the doors. If this does not resolve the issue, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Question

We are having a problem leveling our new refrigerator. Our floor is level, our refrigerator is not, it is higher in the front then in the rear.

The front of the refrigerator is about 3/8 inch higher than the rear, the front is resting on the wheels, not the adjustment knobs which are about 1/2 inch off the ground. Can we take the wheels in the front off or is a 3/8 difference a problem at all?

Samsung refrigerators are designed to lean back slightly to help the doors close more easily but the interior of the unit should be level. You can check that by placing a level inside of the refrigerator. If the front legs are already raised so the unit is resting on the wheels, it should not be adjusted any further.

Should the Flex Zone Adjustable Compartment Rails lock in place?

The rails in the Flex Zone can br adjusted left / right & front / back. The round white plastic connector that keeps them attached looks like it should lock them together so they stay in place when you position them where you want them, but mine does not.

Question

How do you read the temp display on the control panel?

I just had my RF4267ha installed. When I press the freezer button, it displays -2 & 53. Then it changes to 43 & 53. When I press the fridge button, it displays 43 & 34, then it changes to 43 & 53. What do these numbers refer to, & why are there 2 numbers displayed? Is one the current temperature? Thanks.

The panel layout is, indeed, confusing but it is functional and useful once you figure it out.
When you press EITHER the Freezer or Fridge panel settings buttons, you will see two numbers displayed. The left one ALWAYS pertains to the Freezer and the right one ALWAYS pertains to the fridge.

Here's the confusing part: When you press the Freezer panel button, you first see the DESIRED Freezer temperature on the left but the CURRENT Fridge temperature on the right. Then, after about 5 seconds, the LEFT reading changes to show the CURRENT Freezer temperature.

Conversely, when you press the Fridge panel button, you first see the DESIRED Fridge temperature on the RIGHT but the CURRENT Freezer temperature on the LEFT. Then, after about 5 seconds, the RIGHT reading changes to show the CURRENT Fridge temperature.

Confusing matters a bit more is that, usually, the DESIRED and CURRENT temperatures are the same. So, after 5 seconds, nothing seems to happen. E.g., if the Freezer is set to -2 F and it is already at that temperature, then when you press the Freezer setting button, the display shows the same Freezer reading before and after the 5 second delay.

Examples of temperature setting and reading:

1. To check CURRENT Freezer & Fridge temperatures:

Press either Freezer or Fridge panel buttons. Wait about 5 seconds to ensure you are seeing the CURRENT temperatures for both sections. Done!

2. To check/set the DESIRED Freezer temperature:

Press the Freezer panel button. The left number immediately shown is the DESIRED Freezer temperature.

To change the DESIRED Freezer temperature, repeatedly press the Freezer panel button (waiting no longer than 3-4 seconds between each press) to cycle though the list of available DESIRED temperatures. When you reach the end of the setting range, it starts over.

As per item (1) above, after 5 seconds, the number changes to show the CURRENT Freezer temperature. If DESIRED and CURRENT Freezer temperatures are the same, the number will not appear to change since both values are the same number.

3. To check/set the DESIRED Fridge temperature:

Press the Fridge panel button. The left number immediately shown is the DESIRED Fridge temperature.

To change the DESIRED Fridge temperature, repeatedly press the Fridge panel button (waiting no longer than 3-4 seconds between each press) to cycle though the list of available DESIRED temperatures. When you reach the end of the setting range, it starts over.

As per item (1) above, after 5 seconds, the number changes to show the CURRENT Fridge temperature. If DESIRED and CURRENT Fridge temperatures are the same, the number will not appear to change since both values are the same number.

4. Setting Power Freeze or Power Cool:

It may sometimes be desired or necessary to cool the Freezer and/or Fridge as quickly as possible. This might be: after power returns from a power failure; after having unplugged, moved, and re-plugged the fridge; after a manual defrost and cleaning; or after having loaded the unit with a large amount of food that needs rapid cooling.

For those needs, you use the Power Freeze and/or Power Cool modes. They set the Freezer and/or Fridge to maximum cooling for 72 hours at the lowest settings temperature unless you disable it before then. You should disable it as soon as you feel it is no longer needed since it increases power consumption.

To set Power Freeze or Power Cool modes, press and HOLD the Freezer or Fridge panel buttons for about 3 seconds. An icon like a snow flake will then appear to indicate that it is on. To disable the mode, press and HOLD the same panel button again for 3 seconds. The icon will disappear to indicate that it is off.

Parting Advice:
Remember that, although there are two numbers displayed side-by-side, the left number ALWAYS pertains to the Freezer and shows its DESIRED then CURRENT temperature. Similarly, the RIGHT number ALWAYS pertains to the Fridge and shows its DESIRED, then CURRENT temperature.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the question. It's fine to remove the refrigerator's water filter if you have an RO system in your home. While it isn't necessary to turn the water valve off in order to remove the filter, doing so may help to alleviate the water pressure in the lines, making it easier to remove the filter if you have difficulty.

Question

Motor seems to run continuously

I just installed the frig yesterday and it seems the motor has been running continuously. Is this because the frig is nearly empty? Or is it because the Energy Saver mode is on? Or...?

It's normal for the compressor to run as long as is necessary to cool or maintain the set temperature, and it can take as much as 24 hours after installation for it to cool completely. Please make sure the refrigerator is properly leveled and has sufficient clearance around the outside for air circulation. If anything inside the unit is blocking the air vents, this can prevent it from cooling properly, as well.

The Energy Saver feature controls the low-wattage heater in the strip between the doors that helps to evaporate condensation in humid conditions. When the Energy Saver is on, the heater is off. This does not directly affect the cooling system.

At the recommended 20-125 psi water pressure, a 6 oz glass of water should dispense in about 10 seconds. If yours is slower than this, please check to make sure the water valve is turned on all the way. Try bleeding air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water. If, after air is removed, the water is still coming out slow, try removing the filter temporarily. If water dispenses faster without the filter, then you may need to replace the filter cartridge with a new one. Though the filter usually needs to be replaced after about 6 months, it may need to be replaced sooner depending on usage and water purity.

Question

WHY WATER WILL NOT DISPENSE?

1 answer
Answers
answer 1
I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with the water dispenser on your RF4267HARS. There are several factors that could effect the water dispenser's operation; please check the following:
- Is the supplied water pressure at the recommended 20-125 psi?
- Is the water valve turned on all the way and the water line free of bends or kinks that could obstruct the flow?
- Is the water function selected on the control panel?
- Is the Child Lock engaged? If so, deactivate it by pressing the Ice Off/Lock button for 3 seconds.
- Is the water filter cartridge installed correctly with the lock indicator marks aligned? If the filter was recently replaced, try bleeding air from the lines by pressing the dispenser paddle for an extended period of time.
- Are the fridge and freezer set to the recommended 38°F and -2°F, respectively? If the temperatures are set too low, the water line could freeze.
- Check the wiring and water line connection under the left door hinge, as shown on page 7 of the user manual.

After checking all of the above, if the water still will not dispense, it is possible that your filter is clogged or partially clogged. Try removing the filter temporarily to see if the water will dispense. It may be necessary to bleed air from the lines again. If the water dispenses without a filter installed, you'll need to replace the cartridge with a new one. If water still won't dispense, your refrigerator may require service. Please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.
