RF323TEDBSR-Icemaker in Freezer compartment

I have a door icemaker and a 2nd icemaker in the freezer.

The owners manual does not tell me anything about the freezer icemaker. Where can I find some information on its operation?

Does it turn off automatically when the freezer catch bin is full?

Should I turn it off using the door LCD panel if I don't need this much ice?

We recommend you review the PDF version of the manual. You'll be able to search for keywords using the binoculars icon and will be able to find plenty of information about the freezer.

In regard to your second question, it's safe to assume that the freezer will deactivate when the catch bin is full.

Finally, if you will review the following support article, it provides more information about how to turn the top and bottom icemakers on or off.

RF323TED Exterior Maintenance

How do you remove stubborn handprint stains on the stainless steel exterior? We have tried what the owners manual instructs which is a damp cloth (water) but some of the prints remain.

What polishing product does Samsung recommend to polish the stainless steel once or twice a year as indicated in the owners manual?

Can the product "Stainless Steel Magic" be used?

We conferred with our resident appliance expert and he indicated he wasn't sure how well Stainless Steel Magic works since he has not tested it, but you're welcome to try it out if you so choose. Just make sure it doesn't contain any of the harmful ingredients noted in the articles above.

Question

Icemaker supply line

The owner's manual indicates that one can use either copper tubing with a nut and ferrule or plastic tubing with a molded end (bulb) and 1/4" compression female threaded nut in lieu of a ferrule and poly tubing insert.

Is it ok to use a stainless steel braided ice maker supply line that has a 1/4" compression female threaded nut with an o-ring tom connect to the fridge's compression (male) fitting?

When your water dispenser dribbles, does it continue to dribble to the point that you cannot stop it or just for a matter of seconds after filling a container? If it's just a matter of seconds and that's completely normal. If it continues dribbling and spilling out on your kitchen floor, you might check to make sure your water filter is installed correctly. Additionally, we have conferred with our resident home appliance expert and he indicates that there is no way to make the ice cubes any larger.

Winterizing my fridge

I have a summer house in Buffalo, which i do not use in the winter. Over the winter I shut down the house by draining all my water lines. I wanted to know how i can winterize the fridge so it can be in below freezing conditions while its unplugged and off.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. Please follow these steps:

1) Turn off your water supply to the refrigerator.

2) Dispense as much water as you can.

3) Remove the water filter. (Note: you'll likely be unable to reuse this water filter later on because of stagnant water in it.)

4) Disconnect the water line from the back of the refrigerator and place it in a bucket.

5) Dispense the remainder of the water.

6) Allow the ice maker to operate until it uses up the water in its line and ejects any ice remaining in the ice mold. Once the water in this system is used up, turn off ice production.

7) Empty of all food and disconnect from electrical power.

8) Leave the doors and drawer cracked open to circulate air through the cabinets to mitigate mildew build up.

9) Add a dryer sheet scent you like to the interior of the fridge to make the interior smell nice.

Why does the ice come out half crushed when I have it set to cubed?

I've already had the auger assembly and solonoid replaced and the ice cubes from the upper dispenser come out half crushed when the bin is full of ice.

Ice &water dispenser making a odd vibrating noise

When I dispense water, I will randomly hear a vibrating loud humming noise coming from the unit, and water willl barely come out , then after a moment will dispense properly. Lately, the noise will happen, when we are not even using the dispenser ! What is going on?

Question

When using the upper ice maker ...

the ice comes out semi-crushed, even on the cubed setting. It makes a horrendous noise, like it's trying to crush the ice, and we never get whole cubes. I have changed the temperature up and down to see if that helped. It did not. Is there a setting I can change on the crushing? We have friends who bought the same fridge a week later, on our recommendation and theirs does the same thing. They're now mad at us and we're dissatisfied with the upper ice maker.

cleaning fridge doors

Hello,

I was told to use a stainless cleaner only and no water on our new 31 cu. Ft. French door fridge. I have done this, but after 3 months, I am having issues with watermarks from drips and wet fingers that makes lighter marks on the fridge door that does not come off when I use the cleaner.

What specifically do you recommend to keep the doors sparkling clean and not show any watermarks.

Question

Noise when dispensing water or filling icemaker

After about 3 months use, my F323TEDBSR is making a loud vibrating noise whenever water is dispensed, or when water is flowing to fill the icemaker. I removed the water filter, and the noise went away. I replaced with a new Samsung filter, and it was quiet for a couple days, then started making the noise again. Any ideas what it can be?

The feature you're seeking to use requires that the door be closed a certain degree and it will close the rest of the way. It's not something where a button can be pushed and it closes itself completely (like those on a modern minivan).

The Freezer temperature can be set between -8°F and 5°F (or between -23°C and -15°C) to suit your particular needs. The chosen temperature should be consistent throughout the freezer area.

Question

Refrigerator door won't stay open

We just purchased this refrigerator yesterday and have noticed that the right side door when you are looking at the refrigerator (i.e. the one without the ice/water dispenser) closes on its own. Is there any way that I can prevent this from happening because it is extremely annoying when you are trying to get multiple items out of the refrigerator. Thanks for your help.

The refrigerator has a door that will self-close if not opened wider. Please open the door at least 90 degrees to prevent it from self-closing.
