Thank you for your interest. The ice maker in the RF26XAERS is not removable, but it can be turned off by pressing the Ice Off button on the control panel. Samsung does not make refrigerators without icemakers.

If your RF26XAERS is not dispensing water rapidly, please check the following:
- Is the supplied water pressure at the recommended level of 20~125 psi? Under normal conditions, a 170 cc (5.75 oz.) paper cup should fill in 10 seconds at this level.
- Is the water valve open all the way, with no bends or kinks in the line?
- Is the water filter installed with the indicator marks aligned properly?

If the problem persists, please click on the link below, then select "Water And Ice" > "Water" for additional troubleshooting suggestions: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

Question

Is there a 23 cu feet version of the RF26XAERS?

My cabinet space for a refrigerator will only accommodate 35.5" maximum width. We love the RF26AXERS but it's too wide. Want all the features of RF26AXERS in a 23 cu ft model. Does Samsung make it?

Thanks for your interest in Samsung refrigerators. The RF26XAERS is currently available only in the 35-3/4" width size. We do have 33" width models, but not with the same feature set as the RF26XAERS.

Question

What is the width of the space needed to house the refrigerator?

I am remodeling my kitchen and just purchased a Samsung RF26XAERS refrigerator. When facing the refrigerator there will be a wall to the right and a cabinet enclosure to the left. What width do I need to make this space to ensure proper door operation on the refrigerator?

The RF26XAERS is 35-3/4" wide with the doors closed. Samsung recommends leaving at least 1" on each side, as well as 2" above and behind the refrigerator to allow sufficient air circulation for the cooling system to work properly and most efficiently. In most cases, the refrigerator will stick out beyond the cabinets, so the swing of the doors would not be obstructed, but if the doors will open into either the wall or the cabinet, you'll need 3-3/4" clearance on that side for the handles in order to open the doors 90-degrees.

For additional information, please refer to the User Manual, which can be downloaded as a pdf file from the Support and Downloads page of this website.

The stainless steel used to make the doors on many refrigerators, including the RF26XAERS, is not magnetic so magnets will not stick to them.

Frost in the freezer results from the moisture in warmer air condensing on the cold surfaces in the freezer. While a small amount can be normal if the freezer drawer is opened frequently and in very warm, humid environments, excessive frost can be caused by either the drawer not closing properly or by inadequate ventilation. Please click on the following troubleshooting link, then click on "Troubleshooting ► Freezer ► Frost in the Freezer": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

Question

Water dsipenser

I have had this refrigerator for approximately one year and we love everything about it. We have recently had an issue with the water dispenser. It still dispenses water but at an extremely slower rate. It could take five minutes to fill and average sized cup. I have checked the filter and replaced it, I have checked the lines for kinks (none), and I have check the lines and temperature for freezing. None of these were the problem from what I can see. Have you heard of this issue before and do you have any recommendations? I look forward to hearing from you,

Kind Regards,
John

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your water dispenser. I would suggest you try removing the water filter temporarily and dispensing water. Under normal conditions, a 170 cc (5.75 oz.) glass should fill in approximately 10 seconds if your home's water pressure is at the recommended 20-125 psi. If it continues to dispense slowly without the filter installed, your home's water pressure has not changed and the water valve is on and lines are unobstructed, the refrigerator may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. If ice is forming under the crisper drawers, it's possible that your refrigerator temperature is set either too high or too low. Please adjust the temperature to 38°F, if necessary. The water that is freezing may be the result of condensation or it may be an indication of a leak that may require service to repair. Try wiping up the water and waiting 24 hours. If water has accumulated there again by the next day, your refrigerator will require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

There are a few things you could check to try to resolve this issue on your own:
1. Is the water valve on all the way?
2. Is your home's water pressure at the recommended 20-125 psi? At this pressure, a 170 cc (5.75 oz) glass should fill in about 10 seconds.
3. Try removing the water filter. Does the flow improve? If so, your filter may be clogged or partially clogged and will need to be replaced.
4. Try pressing the test/reset button on the icemaker.
5. Is the icemaker turned on?

If none of these suggestions resolves the issue, your refrigerator will require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

At the recommended 20-125 psi water pressure, a 6 oz glass of water should dispense in about 10 seconds. If yours is slower than this, please check to make sure the water valve is turned on all the way and the lines are free of bends or kinks that could obstruct flow. Try bleeding air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water. If, after air is removed, the water is still coming out slow, try removing the filter temporarily. If water dispenses faster without the filter, then you may need to replace the filter cartridge with a new one. Though the filter usually needs to be replaced after about 6 months, it may need to be replaced sooner depending on usage and water purity.
