The drip tray under the ice and water dispenser is not designed to hold a lot of water. It's important to hold your glass in place under the dispenser for a second or two after the lever is released to make sure you catch all the water that is dispensed. If water continues to drip excessively, it's possible one of the following is occurring:
- the filter is clogged and needs to be replaced;
- there is air in the water lines; try bleeding the air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water each time the filter is replaced;
- there are fragments of ice remaining in the dispenser chute that are melting and dripping into the tray.

There is a way to "trick" the RF268ABRS into thinking the doors are closed when they're not, which will cause the lights inside the refrigerator to remain off even when the doors are open. Here's how: 1) Find the two locations on the top of the plastic piece above the front of the refrigerator where the word 'switch' is embossed in raised letters. 2) Tape magnets just below these two locations, on the front of the plastic cover. Once both magnets are placed correctly, the lights will turn off. 3) The freezer lights are controlled by a button that gets compressed when the drawer is closed. The button is located on the left side of the freezer wall. Simply tape the button down during the Sabbath, and the lights will remain off. It is important to note that if the refrigerator thinks the doors are closed when in fact they are open, the fan may come on with the door open and dissipate all the cold air from inside the unit. The magnets should be removed when Sabbath is over.

The cover on the lower icemaker should just snap back in place. If it is damaged and cannot snap back on, you can visit SamsungParts.com or call 800-627-4368 for information and availability of a replacement cover. This piece is cosmetic and is not necessary to the functioning of the icemaker.

If the refrigerator is cooling but the light is not coming on when you open the door, it's possible the wiring is not connected properly under the hinge covers. This is not unusual if the doors needed to be removed then reattached upon delivery. Please refer to the user manual for instructions for reattaching the doors and connecting the wiring harness. If the problem persists, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Thanks for the question. The case depth of the RF268ABRS is 29-1/8", and Samsung recommends leaving at least 2" behind the refrigerator, as well as 2" above it and 1" on each side, to allow for sufficient air flow and ease of movement. If the unit will be installed next to a perpendicular cabinet or wall, it may be necessary to leave at least 3-3/4" on that side so the door can open 90-degrees unobstructed by the handle.

The RF268ABBP is rated for AC115V 60Hz and 11.6 Amps. While I can't tell you the draw during particular cycles, I can tell you that Samsung refrigerators draw between 0.8 and 4.3 Amps depending on exactly what cycle is active. I would suggest consulting with an electrician for advice on using your generator to power your refrigerator in the event of a blackout.

Thanks for the question. You can remove the filter from your RF268ABRS as long as you have an external filtration system to help prevent damage to the water lines from mineral deposits or debris. A bypass cap is not necessary, but if you prefer to use one you can visit SamsungParts.com for information and availability.

At the recommended 20-125 psi water pressure, a 6 oz glass of water should dispense in about 10 seconds. If yours is slower than this, please check to make sure the water valve is turned on all the way and the lines are free of bends or kinks that could obstruct flow. Try bleeding air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water. If, after air is removed, the water is still coming out slow, try removing the filter temporarily. If water dispenses faster without the filter, then you may need to replace the filter cartridge with a new one. Though the filter usually needs to be replaced after about 6 months, it may need to be replaced sooner depending on usage and water purity.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your RF268 water dispenser. Please make sure the Child Lock has not been activated, since this would prevent the control panel and dispenser from functioning, and check that water is selected on the controls. It may be necessary to bleed air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water now, and then again after each time the water filter is replaced. Next, make sure the water line to the dispenser is connected properly by removing the top left hinge cover. Instructions for checking the water line connection can be found in the user manual under the section for removing and reattaching the door. The manual can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website for your convenience. If this does not resolve the issue, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

It's not unusual to hear the ice dropping into the bucket or the water being drawn to fill the trays. However, if this noise is very loud or appears to be straining, please make sure the water is turned on all the way, there are no obstructions in the line, and the filter does not need to be replaced. If you aren't using your icemaker or if it isn't connected to water, turning the icemaker off will help to prevent many of these sounds.

Thank you for the question. It's not unusual to have a small amount of frost in the freezer since each time the drawer is opened, warmer air enters carrying moisture that freezes on the cold surfaces inside the compartment. While Samsung freezers do have heaters in the walls that cycle on periodically to prevent frost build-up, this does not necessarily prevent the moisture from condensing on the packages or plastic bins. To help reduce the amount of frost on packages, keep the drawer closed as much as possible.

If you're experiencing more than just a small amount of frost, I would suggest reviewing the available troubleshooting articles on this topic to ensure the drawer is closing properly and the vents are not blocked. Please click the link below, then select "Troubleshooting ► Freezer ► Frost in the Freezer": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...
Please click on the link below, as well, to view a short how-to video on removing frost from the bottom freezer: http://support-us.samsung.com/spsn/...

If these steps do not help to resolve the issue, please use the link provided in the article to request service.
