Stainless Platinum is Samsung's fingerprint-resistant finish that resembles real stainless steel. Many people find that Stainless Platinum is easier to keep clean than real stainless. In addition, customers who like to display photos or kids' artwork on their refrigerators may prefer Stainless Platinum which is magnetic while most real stainless is not. If you are trying to match other real stainless steel appliances, you may want to visit a retailer near you that has a Samsung refrigerator in Stainless Platinum on display, so you can see if it fits your needs.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. In addition to what the other representative said, there is a length of tubing between the cut-off valve and the dispenser. The length needs to drain still after you remove pressure from the dispenser activator arm. So if the water is spilling, simply remove pressure from the activator but still hold the glass under the dispenser for a moment. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!

Both the RF26XAEPN and the RF267AEPN do have LED lighting. The difference between these two models is the configuration of the shelves and drawers inside the refrigerator compartment. The RF267AEPN has the Cool Select Pantry Drawer which features three independent temperature settings (Chill, Deli and Fresh), and is wide enough to fit a sheet cake or deli platter.

I'm sorry to hear you're having these issues with your RF267AEPN.

If the "Cubed Ice" option is selected on the control panel, but crushed ice continues to be dispensed, this may simply be due to some residual crushed ice remaining in the ice chute, but cubed ice should soon follow. If you're unable to select the "Cubed Ice" option, or if crushed ice continues to come out when cubed is selected, then your refrigerator likely requires service.

To initiate the service process, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you.

Frost and ice forming in the freezer is usually a result of warmer, more humid air entering. This can be caused by the drawer being left open for a prolonged period, or the drawer not closing or sealing properly. Another possible cause is inadequate ventilation. Please click on the following troubleshooting link, then click on Operation > Freezer > Frost in the Freezer: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If the troubleshooting tips available through the above link do not help you resolve this issue, service will likely be necessary. Please follow the instructions above to request service.

Question

I just bought this refrigerator and it doesn't refrigerate.

This was just delivered to my house. The lights all work, the cooling temp for the freezer is set -2 and the temp for the refrig is set to 38. All well and good. It does make sounds like its cooling but the refrigerator is still at 65 degrees after 3 hours. And the freezer is at 37.. .I'm sure the only reason its that low is because of all the frozen food I put in it from the working refrigerator which has now been hauled off.

I'm sorry to hear your new RF267 is not cooling. Please try activating/deactivating the refrigerator's "cooling off" mode by pressing the Power Freeze and Freezer buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. Cooling off mode is usually indicated by the letters "OF" on your display. If this does not resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

I'm sorry to hear you have an error code displayed on your RF267AEPN. These codes are part of an internal diagnostic system that will help guide a qualified technician to identify the cause of an issue and find a solution. When you unplug the refrigerator, the error codes and other history is cleared from the refrigerator's memory, so Samsung does not recommend doing this unless advised to do so by an authorized technician. To initiate the service process, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you.

Question

Where is the water tank for the water dispenser?

The water dispenser is not functioning. One of the troubleshooting solutions is to make sure the water tank is not frozen. Where is the water tank for model RF267AB?

The water tank is located in the lower left rear of the refrigerator, but would need to be accessed by a qualified service professional. There are a few things you can check first, however, before requesting service. 1) Make sure the refrigerator temperature is set to 38 degrees; wait 24 hours, then check to see if water dispenses. 2) Check the water filter. Hard water can cause the filter to need to be replaced more frequently than the typical 6 months. If you have hard water, and the filter is more than 3 to 4 months old, it may need to be replaced. 3) Check to see if the child lock has been turned on. For models produced since 2008, if the child lock is on you won't be able to dispense water or ice. If you continue to experience problems with the water dispenser after trying all of these possible solutions, please click here to request service: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/o...

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. If the ice is not coming out when the dispenser paddle is pressed, and the bucket will not come out by pulling the lever on the side, then I would suggest having a technician come out to service your RF267 refrigerator to avoid damage to the unit or bodily injury by attempting to dislodge the jam yourself.

Thanks for the question. The water filter indicator light will remain blue until about a month before the filter needs to be replaced, at which time it will turn light pink. At approximately 6 months, the light will turn red indicating it is time to change the filter.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. Please click on this link for troubleshooting tips: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If you recently lost power due to a surge or outage, it's possible that the refrigerator was damaged, which will require service. It's also possible that the refrigerator powered back on in "Cooling Off" (or "Demo") mode. In Cooling Off Mode, the refrigerator lights work but doesn’t make cool air, and the control panel display would read "OF". To cancel this mode, press the Power Freeze and Freezer buttons at the same time for 3 seconds until a “Ding-dong” sound is heard and the unit will now cool.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We have investigated your issue and after consulting with our product specialist who deals exclusively with appliances, he has indicated that based on your description, it sounds like water is leaking from the evaporator. The reason there is ice is because it's collecting at the coldest part of the fridge.

We recommend you file a service request to have this issue looked at by a trained technician.

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/request

If you have any additional questions, we suggest your refer to your product manual or the product support page on our website, where you'll find a comprehensive troubleshooting guide, product support videos, FAQs and How-Tos, as well as manual downloads.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. If you've tried bleeding at least 5-6 gallons to remove air from the water line, there are two other things you can try before calling for service.

1. Try replacing the water filter since a clogged or partially clogged water filter can cause the dispenser to drip.
2. Check the ice chute for residual ice, which can happen especially when crushed ice is used since fragments can remain in the chute.

If you've tried replacing the water filter, cleaning the ice chute and bleeding the air from the lines and this issue is still persisting, your refrigerator will require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for the question. After installing a new filter in your RF267AEPN, it's important to bleed air from the lines by dispensing up to 6 gallons of water. If your home's water pressure is within the recommended 20-125psi range, a 6 ounce glass should fill in about 10 seconds. Please also make sure the water supply valve is open all the way and there are no bends or kinks in the line that can effect the flow.
