Thank you for the question. It's not unusual to have a small amount of frost in the freezer since each time the drawer is opened, warmer air enters carrying moisture that freezes on the cold surfaces inside the compartment. While Samsung freezers do have heaters in the walls that cycle on periodically to prevent frost build-up, this does not necessarily prevent the moisture from condensing on the packages or plastic bins. To help reduce the amount of frost on these surfaces, keep the drawer closed as much as possible.

Question

How do I stop ice from falling out of the ice tray?

Every time I slide the top freezer shelf out ice cubes fall out the back of the ice cube bin. There is about a 1" space between the ice cube maker and the U cut in the bin so that ice cube maker can slide in an out. Either I'm missing some kind of rubber gasket or the ice bin is filling too full such that ice cubes are dragged along when the top shelf is pulled forward. How do I fix this problem? Is there a way to adjust the level of the ice cube bin so it doesn't fill so high? The refrigerator is only about 6 months old and has had this problem since it was installed.

Thanks for the question. It's normal for there to be a small amount of space between the bin and the icemaker to allow it to move in and out freely. I would suggest checking the feeler arm under the icemaker to ensure it is moving up and down so it can signal to the icemaker when the bucket is full. If the icemaker continues to make more ice than you use, allowing it to fall out the back, it's also possible to turn the icemaker off as needed by pressing the Ice Off button on the control panel. To turn the icemaker back on, simply press the button again so the Ice Off icon is not lit up.

Samsung recommends leaving at least 2" above and behind the RF266AEBP, as well as 1" on each side, to allow sufficient air flow. If either side is opening into a perpendicular wall or cabinets, you'll need at least 3-3/4" on that side to enable the door to open 90-degrees.

Question

Condensor is leaking water into the refrigerator

I've noticed that the condenser, when thawing, is not letting the water into the drain hole. Instead, some is overflowing into the actual refrigerator. I've removed the cover plate and look for any blockage and do not see anything that could be causing the problem. What other troubleshooting can I do before calling and spending hundreds on a service call.

There is no ice blockage and the water if lowing perfectly as it drips. I've even poured water from a glass down the try into the hole and it did not back up, so there is no blockage there.

I'm sorry to hear there appears to be a leak in your refrigerator. Please click on the following troubleshooting link then select "Troubleshooting ► > Water And Ice ► > Water Is Leaking": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If the suggestions in this article do not help to resolve the issue, service may be necessary. If this does in fact involve the condenser as you've suggested, then it's possible the service could be covered under warranty as part of the sealed system. Question

How can I fix my ice maker without calling for repair service?

Every thing works except no water is flowing into the ice cube tray. I followed the trouble shooting guide ( and I mean every detail!) and everything checks out fine. I suspect it might be a water solenoid valve or some other electronic glitch. Has anyone else encountered this kind of problem for this model refrigerator?

RF266AEPN ice maker troubleshooting steps:
- Is the water connected, the valve turned on and hoses unkinked and free of obstruction?
- Is your home's water pressure between 20~125 psi? Under normal conditions, a 5.75 oz. glass can be filled in about 10 seconds.
- Is the refrigerator set at the recommended 38°F? If the refrigerator is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- Is the freezer temperature cold enough? Samsung recommends setting the freezer at -2°F.
- Is the icemaker turned on? Make sure the Ice Off icon is not illuminated on the display.
- Is the feeler arm under the icemaker stuck in the "up" position, which would signal to the icemaker that the bucket is full and to stop making ice.
- Is the water filter installed properly and locked in place?
- Did you bleed the air from the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water from the dispenser since installing or replacing the filter?
- Did you press the Test button on the icemaker to reset it?
- If none of the above suggestions helps to resolve the issue, and the ice tray does not fill with water, try removing the water filter temporarily and press the test button on the icemaker again. If the tray fills without a filter installed, then the cartridge is likely clogged or partially clogged and should be replaced. The filter should be replaced about every 6 months based on average usage, but it could become clogged sooner if there are a lot of impurities in the water supply.

Thanks for the question. Samsung recommends leaving at least 2" above and behind the refrigerator and 1" on each side to ensure sufficient air circulation so the cooling system in the RF266AEPN can operate most effectively and efficiently. Restricting air flow could potentially affect the cooling system's operation and/or efficiency.

There are several factors that can affect the ability of the icemaker to produce ice, including water supply, freezer and refrigerator temperatures, and control panel functions. Please check the following to try to resolve the issue:
Press the Test button again after bleeding the lines.

If, after checking each of these suggestions, the icemaker still isn't functioning properly, please submit your contact information through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you.
