Please refer to page 25 of the RF266AEWP user manual for instructions on removing the shelves and bins from the refrigerator and freezer compartments. Since the glass cannot be separated from the plastic for cleaning, I would suggest soaking them in warm, soapy water, if necessary. The user manual can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website for your convenience.

Question

Drop down slide under shelve

I just purchase a Samsung frig and would like to change out some shelves for the "drop down/slide under" shelves that I saw other Samsung models had. Large containers do not fit and we remove shelves so they will. This is taxing and to keep up with the removed shelve and we lose storage. Where and how can I get other shelves?

Question

I need the part Number for the Water filter "BYPASS PLUG"

I already have a Water filter System (carbon/reverse osmosis) supplying ultra clean water to my refrigerator, and don't require the internally furnished Samsung one. Most Refrigerator brands supply a "Bypass Plug/Cap" that allows the homeowner use of their own water filter system. I am seeking the part number for this item, as I do not wish to use the internally supplied filter as it is redundant.

Your RF266 refrigerator should have come with a cap for the filter housing, though it is not necessary to use it. You can remove the water filter cartridge and still use the ice and water features in the refrigerator without a cap as long as your home does have a back up filtration system to prevent damage to the water lines. If you prefer to use a cap, please visit SamsungParts.com for information and availability.

Question

Has anyone else had problems with broken parts on icemaker? Plastic covered foam piece and plastic arm?

My fridge is barely two years old and now have multiple parts breaking on icemaker. Icemaker won't stop making ice and now it is no longer cubes, but more the consistency of crushed ice in the bin in the freezer. Really disappointed in quality, as I paid a significant amount for this product. The bin is in correctly and should not "hang up" on the icemaker.

Frost or condensation in the freezer can result from the moisture in warmer air condensing on the cold surfaces in the freezer. While a small amount can be normal if the freezer drawer is opened frequently and in very warm, humid environments, if the frost is melting then freezing as droplets, or if there is enough condensation accumulating then freezing, it is more likely that the drawer is not closing properly. Please click on the following troubleshooting link, then click on Operation > Freezer > Frost in the Freezer: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

One other possibility to consider is that something hot was placed inside the freezer on the top shelf, causing some condensation which froze as it dripped. Did you place anything hot in the freezer recently?

Question

sediment left in glass from melted ice

As the ice from the ice maker melts it leaves a white flakey sediment in the glass. I have tested it with a glass full of ice, and it leaves quite a bit of sediment. However, the water from the chilled water dispenser has no sediment in it. This is a new fridge, and I have changed out the ice and washed the ice bin twice and it is still leaving sediment in glasses. How can I fix this problem?

Thank you for the question. I would suggest flushing the lines by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water, and discarding the first few (3 or more) batches of ice. Any film or sediment from the lines should dissipate over time.

Question

Why does the nternal water continues to drip long after the dispenser shuts off - 25.5 cu ft RF266 refrigerator

reference Samsung 25.5 cu ft French Door refigerator - internal water dispenser drips and drips after the glass is removed- up to 10 seconds - making a puddle. Started 3 months after purchase - water system was replaced which solved the problem. Started again when new filter was installed at 6 months. Water pressure is normal, filter is original equipment for the Samsung. Line is not clogged, one gallon of water was run through the system after the new filter was installed. Second filter was replaced with another new filter - problem still persists. What has Samsung been able to determine to resolve this issue?

Thank you for the question. Besides a clogged water filter, water dripping from the dispenser can be caused by air in the lines, which is not unusual when filters are replaced. To bleed the air from the lines, it may be necessary to dispense up to 5-6 gallons of water. This should be done each time you replace the filter.

Question

Am I missing a part in my water dispenser?

My RF266AEBP works great except for the water dispenser. I push the button and nothing happens. If i push down hard and to the left it does dispence but the rubber button pops off and you need a finger in the way of the water to make it dispense. Is there a part missing that makes the button dispense with the push of the cup?

Question

Refrigerator continues to run after ice maker hooked up?

We've had our refrigerator (RF266AEPN) for 1 week. Yesterday the installer came to hook up the water to ice maker and internal water filter. The ice is being made, but the refrigerator has been constantly running since the ice maker and water filter were hooked up. Is this normal? How frequently should the the refrigerator be running. There is just 2 of us in the house.

The cooling system in your RF266AEPN will run as long and as often as it needs to in order to maintain the set temperature. If the set temperature has been reached, then the compressor should cycle on and off periodically. If the door or drawer is not closed properly or is opened frequently, the cooling system will need to work harder to maintain the set temperature. One possible cause for it to run constantly for an extended period is that the Power Freeze or Power Cool functions were activated. These options can be turned on or off by pressing the corresponding buttons on the control panel.

For further assistance in determining whether your cooling system is functioning properly, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to help.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your RF266 refrigerator. If the door alarm is beeping despite the doors being closed and the display is not working properly, it's possible the wiring harnesses located under the upper hinge covers are not connected. This is especially common if the doors had been removed during delivery. Please refer to pages 9 and 11 in the user manual for instructions on removing the hinge cover to disconnect/reconnect the wires.

If this does not resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.
