Frost in the freezer results from the moisture in warmer air condensing on the cold surfaces in the freezer. While a small amount can be normal if the freezer drawer is opened frequently and in very warm, humid environments, excessive frost can be caused by either the drawer not closing properly or by inadequate ventilation. Please click on the following troubleshooting link, then click on "Troubleshooting ► Freezer ► Frost in the Freezer": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

To remove the light cover to change bulbs in both the refrigerator and the freezer, push the cover back (which puts pressure on the release clips) while pulling it down. Please see the attached image for instructions from page 29 of the User Manual.

The handles on the RF266ABPN are attached to the refrigerator by sliding down and snapping into place. If the doors are even but the handles are not, it's possible that they were not fully installed. Try putting pressure in the downward position to the handle that is higher than the other. It may take a good amount of pressure to snap it into place. This should resolve the issue.

The RF266ABPN is not currently available in cabinet depth dimensions, and I cannot tell you if and when that may change. Samsung's 36" wide cabinet depth French Doors are currently available only with ice and water on the door, and in stainless steel, as model numbers RFG237AARS and RFG238AARS.

I'm sorry to hear the water dispenser is dripping on your RF266ABPN. If your water dispenser leaks a few drops of water after usage, it is functioning properly. If the dripping is more severe, this is usually caused by air in the water line. If your refrigerator was just installed, or if you've recently replaced the water filter, be sure to flush the dispenser thoroughly by dispensing water into a container. If the refrigerator was just installed, you may need to flush as much as 6 gallons of water to dissipate the air.

If, after flushing the system, your dispenser continues to have a constant or steady drip, it may need to be checked by a technician. To initiate the service process through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you further.

Thank you for the question. While there is no temperature control for the dispensed water on the RF266ABPN, the water should be cool, but not ice cold. If the water is not cool, you may have used up the water in the refrigerator's reservoir, which holds about two liters of water.

I would suggest waiting 24 hours before dispensing water. If it still isn't cold, then your refrigerator may require service. Please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. Since there is nothing within the refrigerator itself that should be causing an odor, I would suggest using an odor-absorbing substance such as baking soda to try to rid your refrigerator of the odor. If this does not resolve the issue, then you could contact 800-SAMSUNG to discuss the service options that are available to you.

Samsung refrigerators use cartridge type water filters which should be replaced approximately every 6 months. Water filter model #DA29-00003B, and the newer #DA29-00003G version, are both compatible with the RF266ABPN. Please visit samsungparts.com or call 800-627-4368 for pricing and availability. This replacement filter is also available through most major retailers who carry Samsung refrigerators.

Question

Plastic piece fell off into the ice bin, ice maker partially functional. How do I fix it?

Dear Samsung,
I have a model RF266ABPN refrigeator. I am greatly pleased with this model which I purchased 1.5 years ago. A week ago, a plastic piece (pic attached) about 2 inches long fell into the ice bin, and now the ice bin makes one large chunk of ice rather than many cubes. How do I fix it? Thanks,-Bob

I'm sorry to hear this water level sensor cover has come off of the icemaker. If the cover has come off, it's likely the sensor itself has moved out of place, as well, which would explain why the tray is overfilling and freezing a block of ice rather than cubes. I would suggest having a technician repair this for you. If you recently lowered your freezer temperature to -6ºF, it may need time to reach that temperature, which would be indicated by the display blinking. If the temperature displayed is -6ºF and is not blinking, yet the food in your freezer is not frozen, your RF266ABPN may require service. I'm sorry to hear your RF266ABPN icemaker is not making ice. There are several factors that can effect the ability of an icemaker to produce ice, including water supply, freezer and refrigerator temperatures, and control panel functions. Please check the following to try to resolve the issue:
- Is the water connected, the valve turned on and hoses unkinked and free of obstruction?
- Is your home's water pressure between 20~125 psi? Under normal conditions, a 5.75 oz. glass can be filled in about 10 seconds.
- Is the refrigerator set at the recommended 38°F? If the refrigerator is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- Is the freezer temperature cold enough? Samsung recommends setting the freezer at -2°F.
- Is the icemaker turned off? The icemaker can be turned on or off by pressing the Ice Off button on the control panel. Make sure the Ice Off icon is not illuminated on the display.
- Is the feeler arm under the icemaker stuck in the "up" position, which would signal to the icemaker that the bucket is full and to stop making ice.
- Is the water filter installed properly and locked in place?
- Did you bleed the air from the lines by dispensing 6 gallons of water from the dispenser since installing or replacing the filter?
- Did you press the Test/Reset button on the icemaker?
- If all of the above options do not resolve the issue, and the ice tray does not fill with water, try removing the water filter temporarily and press the test button on the icemaker again. If the tray fills without a filter installed, then the cartridge is likely clogged or partially clogged and should be replaced.

If, after checking each of these suggestions, the icemaker still isn't functioning properly, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you.

I'm sorry to hear a part has fallen off of your icemaker. If it's the front cover, this part is cosmetic and should just snap back into place. If it appears to be an internal component of the icemaker, then service may be required to reassemble the icemaker so it will function properly. Thanks for the question. You should be able to remove the plastic tabs that hold the glass shelf down in the back by prying it up carefully with a flathead screwdriver. There are several differences between real stainless steel and Samsung's Stainless Platinum. The key difference that many people note is that real stainless steel is usually not magnetic, so if you like to hang photos and kids' artwork on your refrigerator, you might want to choose our "Stainless Platinum" because it is magnetic. Also, Stainless Platinum is fingerprint-resistant and very easy to care for. The Stainless Platinum, which has a protective coating over the painted finish, is similar in durability to our White and Black finishes.
